(Elena’s POV)

The night pressed in around us like a second skin thick, cold, and humming with danger.

We shouldn’t have been out here.

Alexander knew it.

I knew it.

But after everything Richard Hale had set in motion…the explosion at the docks, the ambush on the road, and the tracker they’d slipped into my jacket there was no choice. We had to disappear before Richard made his next move.

And yet, even as fear twisted through me, another truth pulsed harder:

Alexander wouldn’t stop touching me.

A steady hand at the small of my back.

A protective brush of his fingers across my arm.

A silent promise in every glance.

It shouldn’t have felt this grounding…this necessary.

But it did.

---

The forest opened into the clearing where Alexander kept the old military-grade SUV he used for emergencies an ugly, armored beast that looked like it had chewed through wars.

He reached it first, scanning the dark tree line with sharp, lethal focus.

“Get in,” he said, voice low but not cold. Not anymore.

  • Reborn as The Billionaire's Wife   The Vow Between Heartbeats

(Elena’s POV)The city looks different from up here. Not brighter. Not softer. Just… honest. From the balcony of the Knight family’s coastal estate penthouse, the ocean stretches endlessly, dark and breathing, its waves folding into themselves like secrets never fully told. The wind carries salt and something else finality, maybe. Or peace.I rest my hands against the glass railing, fingers trembling, not from cold but from the weight of everything that brought me here. Two lives. One death. And a love that refused to stay buried.Behind me, I hear Alexander’s footsteps. I don’t turn right away. I don’t need to. I know the rhythm of him now the controlled strength in each step, the way he always pauses just slightly before coming close, as if giving me space even when all he wants is to pull me into his arms.“Elena,” he says softly. My name sounds different on his lips. Not a possession. Not a plea. A promise.I turn. He’s dressed simply tonight—black shirt, sleeves rolled up, no tie

  • Reborn as The Billionaire's Wife   The Cost of Truth

Elena’s POVThe room smelled like antiseptic and cold steel, the kind of place where secrets were peeled open layer by layer until nothing survived intact.I sat alone at the long glass table, my hands folded tightly in my lap, nails biting into my palms. Across from me, a thin file lay open its pages heavy with words I had chased across two lifetimes.Project Rebirth.Seeing the name in black ink still made my stomach twist.Alexander stood by the window, his back to me, shoulders rigid beneath his tailored suit. The city lights outside shimmered like distant stars, cruelly beautiful, unaware of the truths about to be unearthed inside this room.“Say it,” I whispered. “Just say it, Alex.”He turned slowly. His eyes those eyes that had learned every shade of me were dark with something close to fear.“This isn’t just about you,” he said carefully. “Or Richard. Or even your first death.”My heart stuttered. “Then what is it about?”He walked back to the table and pushed the file toward

  • Reborn as The Billionaire's Wife   The Weight of Forever

Elena’s POVThe city looked different from the glass walls of the Knight Tower at night quieter, almost reverent, as if it knew something monumental was about to happen.I stood alone in Alexander’s private office, my palms resting against the cool window. Below, the lights blurred into rivers of gold, reminding me of how far we’d come and how much blood, betrayal, and sacrifice had paved the way here.Ten years ago, this place had been a symbol of everything I could never touch. Now, I stood at the center of it.Behind me, the door opened softly.I didn’t turn. I didn’t need to.I felt him.“You’re going to catch a cold standing there like that,” Alexander said quietly.A familiar warmth wrapped around my shoulders as his jacket settled over me. I closed my eyes, breathing him in clean, sharp, unmistakably him.“I was thinking,” I said. “About how strange fate is.”He stepped closer, his presence a solid anchor at my back. “That usually means you’re about to say something dangerous.”

  • Reborn as The Billionaire's Wife   The Line Between Us

(Elena’s POV)The city looked different at night when you’d already lost everything once. From the floor-to-ceiling windows of Alexander’s penthouse, the lights below glittered like a thousand secrets beautiful, distant, and sharp enough to cut if you got too close. I stood there longer than I meant to, fingers curled around the cool glass, trying to quiet the storm inside my chest.Tonight had changed something. Not in the loud, explosive way Richard’s downfall had. Not with scandals or boardroom bloodshed. This was quieter. More dangerous.Alexander had drawn a line and I wasn’t sure whether he’d drawn it to protect me… or to protect himself from loving me too much.Behind me, I heard the soft click of the door. I didn’t turn.“You’re still awake,” Alexander said. His voice was low, controlled, but I knew him too well now not to hear what he was hiding underneath. Tension. Worry. Restraint.“I could say the same,” I replied. He moved closer, stopping just short of touching me. That

  • Reborn as The Billionaire's Wife   The Price of Forever

Elena Dawson – POVThe city below the penthouse glittered like a promise that had already been paid for in blood.I stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, my palm resting lightly against the cool glass, watching headlights blur into silver lines far beneath me. From up here, everything looked distant. Controlled. Safe. But nothing about tonight was safe.Alexander was behind me. I didn’t need to turn around to know that. I felt him the way I always did steady, unshakable, like gravity itself had chosen him as its anchor.“You’re quiet,” he said at last.I smiled faintly. “You say that like it’s unusual.”His reflection met mine in the glass. Dark suit. Sharp lines. The man the world feared. The man who had once terrified me simply by existing and who now knew every fragile corner of my heart.“It is,” he replied. “You only get quiet when you’re about to do something dangerous.”I exhaled slowly and turned.“You married me knowing I would never choose the easy road.”His mouth curved in

  • Reborn as The Billionaire's Wife   The Vow That Changed Everything

Elena’s POVThe city below Alexander’s penthouse glittered like a living thing lights pulsing, traffic flowing, power humming beneath glass and steel. I stood by the window, palms pressed to the cool surface, trying to steady my breath. Two lifetimes. In my first life, this view had been something I admired from afar, a world I was never meant to fully enter. In this life, I stood at its very heart Alexander Knight’s wife, his partner, his equal. And yet my chest felt tight.“Thinking too hard again?” Alexander’s voice came from behind me, low and familiar, carrying that quiet authority that made boardrooms fall silent and made my heart race in ways no one else ever could.I turned. He had loosened his tie, jacket discarded, sleeves rolled up to reveal strong forearms that had shielded me more times than I could count. His gaze softened the moment it landed on me.“I was just…” I hesitated, then smiled faintly. “Thinking about how strange life is.”His brow arched slightly. “Strange u
