Chapter fifty-one

Sera is no longer bound to the Silver Pole. Her wrist has begun to heal from the effects of the silver, but hunger gnaws at her, causing to feel feverish.

Her gaze falls on the wasted food that the guards callously threw on the floor. “What an inhumane person.” She sneers, cursing under her breath.

She's about to move closer to dust the sand on the buns nearest to her when footsteps interrupt the stillness in the dungeon.

“Hello…” She calls out wearily, her intestines contrasting with intense hunger pain. Soon, two guards appear, hauling a figure with them.

They unlock the cell gate without sparing a glance at her. “Please…I'm hungry.” Sera begs earnestly, not caring about the boy, who they roughly toss into the Silver cell.

The guards snarl at her, their expressions filled with disgust. “You should be hungry for death for your traitorous actions. You betrayed your pack, yet you are begging to be fed. What a shameless person.”
