Timothy’s lawyer walked into the hospital ward and stood there before Nicole.He pulled up a seat and sat on it and his whole vibe showed that he had come for business.

Opening his portfolio he brought out the divorce papers.Mrs Friday ,please sign these divorce papers and end your marriage with my client peacefully”The lawyer instructed.

Nicole did not know wether to cry or smile.Timothy is really a beast.He could not even let her recuperate nicely in the hospital before bringing theses papers to her.

“what if I refuse to sign them what will your client possibly do?” Nicole asked.She wanted to know specifically what those green monsters would do to her if she refused to sign the papers.

Her marriage will remain thereby preventing him frombeing with Amanda.He cant possibly force her considering he was the one who actually druugeed and staged this act.She was the victim here and they were already guilt,

“then you will force my client to take drastic action and go public with your adulterous lifestyle.Remember you yourself are an illegetimmate daughter and your mother’s past life would be dug out” the lawyer replied with a disgusting tone.

Nicole felt her heart beat almost skip.She had always lived her life in contrast to her mother’s,her mother  had conceived her out of wedlock.

But when her parents decided to be married ,her driver got hit by a reckless driver and she couldn’t survive.Hence she remained an illegitimate daughter all her life.

Nicole raised herself carefully to sit down without affecting the infusion inserted into her hand.She collected the expensive looking pen from the lawyer’s outstretched hand .

The paper reads that she was never to returnto pick anything even a strand of hair in her matrimonial home neither does she own any more of those shares in her father’s company.

All her property was compensation to Timothy for the adultery damages such as loss of contumelia.Nicole’s hands shook when she read this condition attached to the divorce papers.

She sighed softly and stilled her irrational breathing and signed the papers.She signed the papers to the end of her wealth and properties, she just signed herself into a life of poverty.

The lawyer saw her sign and handed the papers back to him which he took with a satisfactory smile plastered on his face.He collected the signed papers and placed them back into his portfolio and then raised his head and smiled as he left.

“i wish you a great and successful life Ms Elias and ehhm have a great day” the lawyer said and stood up walking out of the hospital ward.

Nicole watched his back as he leaved and her ocean of tears finally brought down there barriers and flowed down her cheeks.She had been comlpletely ruined.Her life had become empty and void.

She felt empty.No parents,no husband.She thought she had a sister but alas, she’s a green snake under the green grass.Where is her home,who are her people?Where does she turn for help?

There was absolutely no one and all she had let with was he strength in her to weep.She had nothing eles at this moment besides the dress she had on which lay besides her on the bed.

When she changed out of the hospital wear.that is all she had left so technically all she will be putting on,she had only that one dress as her only belonging.

The awyer stepped out of the hospital and got inside a tinted car where Timothy and Amanda were already waiting for him. “she signed when I threatened her with her mother’s past life’ the lawyer seemed to be boasting infront of his client.

For a  moment unnoticed by any one Timothy furrowed his eyyebrows.

“i know you are capable of making that slut succumb .I will add ten percent to your fees”Timothy replied to him happily as he inspected the signed documents.

Now he was free from the shackles of that bondage called marriage he was a casanova so this was a huge deal ,he can fool around a little more and not being discreet about it.

Gush he never liked Nicole a bit she was way out of his league ,and she disgusted him.He had to put up pretending for the last months they had been married.

“baby , you are the best.’Amanda chimed,placingher head on Timothy’s shoulder and circling her hand around his strong arm.

They both kissed each other and felt satisfied.The chauffer turned the ignitionkey on and zoomed off.

No one came to check on Nicole for the next two days she remained in the hospital.She ordered takeout , and ate while in the hospital.She’s glad he left her phone by her bedside.

She transferred the few money in her account to a secret account that she had access to.She can not underestimate the extent to which Timothy would go.

She was able to pay her bills and got discharged from the hospital.Since she couldn’t return home ,she had to go to her stepmother’s place.

At least that house belongs to her father as well.She could stay there for a while and find something meaningful to co with her time and life.

She boarded a taxi and told him the adress to drice her to.She can vouch for her stepmother.She wouldn’t be in support of what her daughter had done.

She may not have really loved her but at she was the one who had arranged this marriage and forcefully married her to Timothy.She’s to be blamed for forcing her with that idiot of a man.

If she learned that her daughter had a hand in what led to the split of the marriage she instituted, she would definetely be mad at her daughter Amanda for this.

The taxi driver came to a halt at the adress that Nicole had told him.He waited to see her alight but was surprised when he saw that the woman he had carried remained in the car without the slightest intention of stepping out of the car.

He glanced at her from the rear view mirror and saw her teary eyes.She was shedding tears and at the same time seemed to be lost in distant thoughts.

The taxi driver shook his head.Everyone has one battle or the other they are fighting.He doesn’t know what was eating upsuch a beautiful woman but he knew she looked troubled and lost.

He has his own battles too and she may not know him as much as he cannot guess hers.He sighed softly before saying”maam ,we are here”.

But Nicole didn’t hear him talk to her.He repeated it one more time and pressed the car horn.Nicole suddenly was pulling by a great force from her blackoutmand she looked embarrased.

How long had this man been talking to her and she didn’t even hear him.He had to even the press the car horn to draw her attention why was she acting like this she must move on with her life she told herself a mental note.

She cleaned her tears and alighted from the vehicle quickly.She paid the fees but before the driver collected the money he had to say, “maam , I may not know what you are facing at the present moment but I want you to be strong and hope for a better future.Everything will be fine,give it tine”, he collected the money and Nicole told him to keep the change.She smiled and said thank you to him before hurrying her steps towards the house.
