Thea's brows furrowed in confusion, something was definitely going on between these two. They aren't exactly discreet enough either.

“Thea! My dear!” Celine's voice rang before Thea could press Daisy for more information.

A sad smile curled on her face as the old woman reached for Thea and wrapped her in a warm embrace.

“I'm so glad you're here my dear!” Celine said, patting Thea's back fondly.

“Thanks for letting me igrandmother-in-lawThea said as Celine released her. Celine nodded, her eyes scanning TheGrandmother-in-lawn.

“You're okay now, right? Perfectly fine?”

Thea smiled, giving Celine's hand a gentle squeeze. “Yes. I'm alright.”

Celine nodded, her grip on Thea's hands firm. Thea turned to Daisy, who had a nervous smile on her face. "Daisy, this is Celine." She paused, a new warmth in his voice. "My grandmother in law."

Celine burst into laughter, her eyes almost welling up in tears. “Grandmother in law? That sounds like a mouthful. Henceforth, I'm your mother in law. Or just mum.”

Thea met Celine's gaze in silence, her heart welling with emotion. Seeing how Celine gave her a reassuring nod, she meant eseenord. Thea smiled.

How could this woman still accept her after everything that's happened? Celine had a heart of gold and Thea was experiencing it in real time.

“It's an honour to finally meet you, Iron …I mean, Ms Blackwood!” Daisy offered, her eyes barely meeting Celine's!

Daisy couldn't believe it! She was standing right next to the most feared old lady in elite society! She has unseen a dozen videos about this woman being ruthless and hell, standing in the same space as her felt intimidating.

Daisy shuts her eyes and swallows, what if she already messed this up?

Celine helped Daisy up and pulled her a warm hug, her eyes twinkling. "I'm so happy to have you here. Seth told me you were with Thea when she needed you…”

Daisy meltgranddaughter-in-laween mistaken? Ilovedthis the Iron Lady of the Blackwood family? Yes, her hair was now full of greys and her eyes were warmer but she had to be the same person she's heard and seen so much about in the tabloids!

Celine releases her, her grip on Daisy was rather warm and homely. Daisy meets her gaze, still in shock and all she could see was an endur;ng grandmother who loved her granddaughter in law more than she loves hYougrandsradianthank you, I mean it.”

Daisy smiles. “Yes..” She muttered, not sure what response to give her.

Celine turned to Arian, a playful glint in her eyes. "And you, young man, you're not late, are you?"

Arian quickly shook his head, nervous. "No, Celine, I promise! I wouldn't dare!”

Celine's eyes narrowed on Arian, he is very slick with his lies but she knew just how to catch him.

“Ypu look radiate, Celine.” Arian said, trying to change the topic.

“Of course I do! Do you know how difficult it is to recruit the best dermatologists to make my own cosmetics?!” Celine snapped, making Arian swallow And next words.

She had watched Seth and Arian grow up together and all she had to say was that he, Arian? Seemed to grow more mischievous! He wasn't her grandson but lord did he almost give her a bloody heart attack whenever he visits!

She narrowed her eyes on him and Arian stopped behind Seth. “Save me.” He muttered.

Seth sighed, this is about to be the longest weekend getaway for sure..

“Amd you!” Celine snapped at Seth who glanced behind him to be sure he wasn't mistaken. He points at himself, clearly in disbelief.

“You better let work stay at work young man. If I see you making any business phone calls, you're done!” Celine warned, running her thumb under her neck with a threatening glare.

Daisy froze. Yup! She was right! She is the Iron Lady! She swallowed again, this getaway is about to be the longest one yet!

Seth clears his throat, pretending not to care. Hell, he's scared of Celine and what she could do! He knows better twomen-onlys with her.

Celine turns to Thea and Daisy with a gentle smile. “I'm glad you two are here.”

She then clapped her hands, and two resort attendants appeared and took their bags and disappeared into the lodge.

"Come inside, come in," Celine said, leading Thea and Daisy into the main building, blatantly ignoring the men.

Arian tuts. “Are you sure we're wanted here? This looks like a women only thing.”

Seth shakes his head. “She told me to invite you.”

“Are you sure you heard her right the first time? You know you've been having severe heart racing situations. Could that have affected your ears? Maybe?”

Seth halted at Arian. “Ypu think I want to be here after that…” Seth mimics Celine running her thumb around her neck. “I brought work here and she's going to kill me!”

Arian runs his hands through his hair. “I'm fucked.”

“We're fucked." Seth corrected, rubbing the corner of his eyes.

“You're her grandson. You can’t be as fucked as I am.”

“Do you need an invite to come in here?!” Celine snapped from inside the building.

“We're on our way Celine!” Arian said, rushing towards the main building. “We love it here.” He mouthed despite the look of despair in his eyes.

Seth sighed, how is he supposed to hide his work now? He heads into the building, joining the rest in the main building.

"I've prepared a little picnic for us all later, but I want you to rest first. Take a shower, change into something comfortable, and then meet me in the common area." Celine said as she led them through the main building into the common area.

The common area was just as beautiful as the exterior. A massive stone fireplace was on one wall, with leather couches and armchairs arranged around it. A huge window offered a stunning view of the surrounding woods.

The air was filled with the scent of burning wood and pine. A television hung on the wall above the fireplace, candle chandeliers hung from the ceiling down and the room was spacious enough to fit everyone.

“This is beautiful.” Thea said.

Celine smiled. “Thank you. I made sure to pick the style myself. I'm glad you like it.”

Celine shows Thea and Daisy around the common area. Seth and Arian stood far away from them, they've been here a dozen times and the only changes they noticed was the choice of furniture.

Clearly, Celine had the whole resort redecorated for her guests, Thea and Daisy.

“This is unfair.” Arian whispered. “She never renovated during our childhood.”

Seth leans closer. “Keep your mouth shut! You know she can hear you right?” He warned.

Celine sends a death stare their way and the duo pretend to be examining the door frame for some reason. It looks rather sturdy today doesn't it?

"Alright, my dears! "Let's get you all settled. Thea and Seth, your room is ready. It has a beautiful view of the lake."

Thea's stomach did a little flip, she and Seth would be sharing a room. She should have seen this coming, still, she was caught off guard by Celine's words .

Celine continued, "Arian, you're in the cabin by the creek. And Daisy, you have a lovely cabin right next to his, with a little porch."

“Thank you. It looks amazing!” Daisy said, looking out the window to see her cabin.

Celine smiles and gives Seth a knowing look. "Go on, you two, go rest."

Seth gave his grandmother a nod. He took Thea's hand, his fingers lacing with hers, and led her to their cabin.

“It's so peaceful here.” Thea said as Seth led her through the open field.

He nods. “It is. I think Celine did some renovations because you were coming over.”

“She did?”

Seth nodded.

Thea glanced at their hands and pulled away slowly. There was nobody watching them and Celine seemed to be busy preparing for their picnic.

“You can let go now.” she muttered..

Seth's skin tingled where they had touched and some resin, he wanted to reach out to her again and hold her hands…

Thea was already walking into the cabin, leaving him to his own conflicting thoughts.

It was a beautiful, two-story structure made of dark cedar wood, with a small porch and a wide view of a peaceful lake. Inside, the cabin was cozy and spacious, with a king-sized bed pushed against a large window, a small fireplace, and a large, modern bathroom.

Seth closed the door behind them as Thea admired their new space for the weekend.

It was bigger than she had expected but, that was a good thing. Their boxes were already in the room, pushed against the wall neatly.

“It's bigger than I expected.” Thea said, admiring the paintings on the wall.

Seth looked at the single bed and then at the armchair in the corner.

"I'll take the chair," he said, moving toward it. "It's small, but I'll manage."

“Sure.” She muttered.

Seth sighed. “Listen, about earlier…”

Thea began to take off her clothes. She didn't say a word, she simply unzipped her jeans, pulling them down her long legs. She then unbuttoned her shirt, letting it fall to the floor.

She stood there for a moment, her back to him, wearing only her bra and panties. She glanced over her shoulder, “I want to take a shower.”

Seth's words had died in his throat. He stopped moving. His eyes, which had been fixed on the armchair, snapped to her. He watched the way the soft fabric of her undergarments clung to her curves. He felt a sharp intake of breath.

A familiar heat began to pool low in his stomach. His body reacted instantly, he felt himself hardening, throbbing in his suit pants.

Thea turned to face him, her breast now in view for him to see. "I don't think that's a good idea," she said, nodding at the chair. "What if Celine walks into our cabin? She'd be worried about why you were sleeping in a chair and not in the bed with me. It would be weird."

She didn't give him a chance to respond. She walked to her bag and pulled out a towel. Her movements were slow, deliberate, as if she knew the effect she was having on him. She disappeared into the bathroom, the door clicking shut behind her.

Seth stood there, frozen. His hard-on was a clear indication of something he'd been trying not to think about a week..

That night in his room, where he had her hands behind her back, giving her gentle but deliberate strokes.

Seth shuts his eyes, he was a man of control, but she was making it impossible. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself but he failed.

Miserably.

He glanced at the bathroom door , his fist clenched right next to him. Why the hell would his body refuse to listen to him?!

Before he could rethink it, Seth walked to the bathroom door and opened it. The air was already thick with steam. Thea was in the shower, the water running over her body.

He froze, unable to walk in. Thea's eyes met his, her gaze guarded. He wanted to go in there, to reach for her, to touch her but it felt like he had balls in his ankles. He couldn't move.

The water went off and she stepped out of the shower and grabbed her towel. She walked towards him, eyes fixed on the room behind him.

He reached for her but she stepped away almost like she knew what he wanted. What he craved.

"I need my clothes.”

Seth stepped away from the door hesitantly. “Yeah..” he muttered and Thea brushed past him, filling his nostrils with the small of her shampoo.

“Today is Friday, right?” Seth blurted out.

“We're on a trip. We had a long trip.”

“We had an agreement.” He said, turning to face her.

Thea turned to face him, a smirk on her face. “Today is a Friday, yes. But we're not at the mansion. We're on a trip. And our agreement was for those days to be at your place. Your quarters..”

Thea approaches him, her eyes staring up at him. “And this isn't your mansion, is it?”

His heart pounded in his chest as she adjusted his tie, eyes staring down at her with more fear than she'd ever since in his eyes. She met his gaze, a smile on her lips. “What?” “I didn't know you were this..brave.” Thea chuckled. “There’s more to me than you know. And you're going to spend forever finding out.” “Is that a deal?” He smiled and she nodded, eyes glowing. The morning light fell softly across the kitchen, painting the marble counter in shades of gold. Thea was standing right in front of Seth, eyes fixed on his suit and then his tie before giving a satisfied nod. “You're good to go.” Seth glanced at the standing mirror behind her, crisp shirt, dark tie, hair pulled neatly back. He looked way better than he did weeks back. “I don’t have to go in today,” he said without meeting her gaze. She smiled faintly. “If you don't, we will never get this over with."Seth’s eyes met hers, calm but shadowed. “I just need to make sure everything stays in place. The police have

The first thing that hit him that morning wasn’t the light, it was the silence. The house felt too still, too quiet. The kind of calm that only came after a storm had exhausted itself. He just lay there, staring at the ceiling, letting the faint hum of the city seep through the walls. Is this the right thing to do? Coming back here?
