Suzy seized my arm, holding on like she feared I might slip away. “C'mon Rhianna. You can do this.” She whispered these words into my ears, wanting me to believe in myself that I could do this.

That I could push the baby out without any complications…

I cried out in pain, clutching my belly, “Su…zy, the baby! It's…it's coming…ahh!!!”

“I know. That's why I need to get you in the car.” She said, helping me rise to my feet.

I held on to her, who helped me walk towards the door, trying to keep my composure.

“Do you think…maybe…I can finish the salad, you know. I'm starving.”

“Are you being serious right now?!!!” She blinked at me. “No, Rhianna. You should forget about that. You're having your baby. And trust me when I say you will be fine.”

I groaned dramatically, lurching forward a little.
