6. You are special

The rays of the early rising moon wakes me up, my eyes flutter open. Soon, the rays of the morning sun reflects in my room.

I sit on my bed and listen hard. There are movements going on somewhere in the Moon's pack house. I mind link David.

What's going on?

I'm loading the car for our long journey ahead. Edward is about to release Isabel. He replies.

I face palm. The drama that have been going on lately is bearing down on me now. I take my bathe and throw a shirt and pants on, then I go downstairs to meet with David.

"The car is ready to go." He tells me when he sees me.

I nod.

"Where is Edward?"

As if the devil heard his name, Edward comes down with his family members and a few pack warriors.

"Good morning, great and mighty alpha Jared." He greets with a fake smile on his face.

I shove him aside.

"Keep your greetings to yourself. Where is Isabel?"

Edward's face fall but he quickly recovers himself and pastes his fake smile.

"Bring out the day." He orders his men.

They nod and leave.

"Isabel grew up here, she spent most of her childhood memories here. You can not just take her away from all this, you have to give me your word that you shall return her as soon as she recovers."

I give Edward a cold stare. Of course he doesn't care if Isabel will be coming back or not, the only thing Edward is after is his personal interests.

" Isabel will return by her own will."

The pack warriors return with Isabel. She is looking weaker and thinner. I carry her in a bridal style and lay her down at the backseat of the car.

"We shall take our leave now." David says to them.

"What about the marriage arrangements?" Edward sounds desperate, this marriage is one of the ties that will his power.

"You will now be communicating with elder Lee from now on about the marriage arrangements." David replies him.

I enter the backseat since David will be driving us to my pack. About a few miles away from Moon pack, Isabel stirs and opens her eyes.

She looks shocked when she sees me with my arms around her tiny frame and her head on chest.

"Alpha Jared, where are you taking me to?"

"Home, Isabel. I'm taking you home."

"I'm tired."

"Take your time and rest, Isabel. I will take you to the hospital when we get there so you can get proper treatment and medication."

"Thank you for saving my life." She says before closing her eyes to sleep.

"You are special to me, Isabel. I will not let anything bad to happen to you from now on, I won't let you cry or feel lost." I whisper to her eyes.

"Jared, I think we have a problem." David says suddenly.

"What is it?"

"Rogues, I can smell them coming."

I don't have to smell, one is already beside our car and running with us.

"David, speed up."

"On it."

He accelerates more but werewolf speed is incomparable to any other speed. The wolf catches up with us and hits it's side to our car, shaking it vigorously.

The others follow, rogues attack in groups to avoid being smothered. They others hit the car in their different directions, David has to pull on the brakes in order to avoid us from crashing.

"What the fuck is wrong with these rogues?" David roars.

"I think it's because Isabel's blood, she's bleeding on her forehead." I say dejectedly, this is all my fault. I should have given her first aid before we left. "

The werewolves shift back to their human form. David and I alight from the car, leaving Isabel inside.

Rogues are wild, berserk werewolves that are always mad at the normal ones for being normal. They run and live in the wild forests and breaks all the rules, they attack travelers especially if there is an injured wolf with them. Here they are, standing naked in front of me with their leader, Harald, who is one of my long lasting enemies.

"To what do I owe this surprise visit, Harald?" I ask dryly.

Harald chuckles stupidly.

"I never imagined someone like you to be traveling alone and without escorts. What happened to you, Jared?"

"My escorts are already one mile ahead of me, did you time me so you can attack when I'm alone?"

"I wouldn't dare that, Jared. But you know why I'm here, I can smell the blood from here." He says hungrily.

"Mind you that I'm not traveling with some sack of raw meat. I'm with someone..."

"And she is bleeding." Harald cuts me off.

I stare at him coldly. " Meaning?"

"I want her blood."

It's my turn to chuckle but not stupidly.

" Thirst all you like Harald, but you and I know that it's never going to work out like that. I'm ready to lay down my life for this one." I say adamantly.

"Who do you have there?"

"My mate." I reply without thinking, even David looks at me with shock.

"You've found your fated mate? Hilarious, and here I thought that we'll grow old and mate less together. So tell me why she's bleeding."

"I'll rather punch off your teeth than say one more word about my mate to you. Go find yours if you're so interested in mates."

Harald rubs his jaws like a lunatic.

"Stop being so mean and harsh to me, who knows if we'll have some kind of alliance in the nearest future. You don't want to be hard on your future partner." Harald snickers.

"Whatever you say, Harald. Are you getting out of my way or not?"

Harald takes one long look at me.

"Fine, Jared. You can leave now, my regards to your new profound mate and make sure you pull yourself together next time. Her wound looks fatal."

I ignore him and enter the car with David who drives off immediately.

"Alpha Jared, you said something earlier. About Isabel being your mate."

"I was just lying to keep Harald away from her. We are not mates, okay?"
