I opened my eyes In Aurelia's body for the third time, I couldn't help the relief and anguish that washed over me.

Once again I experience death for the second time, the a typhoon the anger in me erupt as the look on Aiden eyes replayed in my head. Why does the moon goddess have to be this cruel to me?

What have I done to deserve the moon goddess wrath that she mates me with demons? Even my second chance at that?

Is this a curse or what?

I was more calm this time, if not for anything because I want to live. For my child, for myself and for Aurelia.

I'm sure there's a reason why I'm possessing her body and that is what I need to find first before finding my son.

“Lia.. Aurelia” I turned to the voice, the screeching sound of the chair followed the voice, a woman who looked to be in her late 50s came running towards me.

Like a marathon race, slow at first and in a swift second she has her arm wrapped around me. Crying her eyes out with a broken voice and a shattered heart that could be heard from her cry.

She was holding me so close I could hear her heartbeat. My shoulder wet from her tears.

Confused? That's an understatement.

I don't know who I'm with but her cry does something to my heart, my heart breaks for her and I melted into her arms without hugging her back.

I waited patiently for her to finish, she stared into my eyes when she pulled back.

“My poor baby, I was scared. I thought I lost you. I thought you were gone forever and had left me behind” her voice broke in between words. Her soft hands moved to my face and held my cheek.

 Aurelia's mother!

“I'm sorry baby, Mama is so sorry. I should have been there for you. I should have held your hand when..”

“That's okay mother, she's still confused. Let her soak in her environment. We just got her back, let her breathe.” my eyes followed the voice and it landed on a lady that has slight resemblance to the lady I saw in the mirror earlier____ To me

The woman shakes her head, more tears rolling down her eyes. My eyes moved from between the two of them to our joined hands.

Who are these people? Why are they Aurelia's family? Do they love her or are they pretending?

The thought of them pretending crossed my mind and I slightly pushed her back putting a gap between us both.

The door to the room burst open with a bang, and everywhere vibrated. The atmosphere in the air changed, I sensed the tension increasing. The big room started to get stuff, Aiden just entered and Aurelia's mother and the other lady I assumed to be Aurelia’s sister are shooting daggers at him.

He wasn't backing out either, it's like two forces clashing and the little grasses are getting hurt. I am the little grass and they're making the room smaller.

“Enough! What's with the staring competition?” said, my voice coming out louder than I intended. They all turned to me with an unreadable expression.

“What do you want?” I asked Aiden, ignoring their looks on me. Confusion crossed his eyes for a second before turning into a deep frown.

“Nothing, just checking on you” He said with disgust, he didn't even hide it. And it makes me wonder more.

What type of relationship did he and Aurelia have? They don't seem like a loving mate, it's very clear they both hate each other__ at least Aiden hates her. That's proven.

I replied him in a very soft tone “I'm alive as you can see so you can leave”

His pupils dilated In anger, he opened his mouth to say something but decided against it. He turned and left the room not before sending the ladies another glare.

They both rushed to my side as soon as the door closed behind Aiden.

“Are you okay?” Aurelia's mother placed her hand on my forehead.

“Yes I am, my head is just messed up right now”

“Just that?”

Aurelia's sister said with a raised brow.

“Silver!”

“Mother! You know it's the truth. She's never acted this way to Aiden before, I mean NEVER!. Nothing even when he publicly disgraced her by saying nobody should call her Luna because she'll never be his. Or when she was chased out of her chamber because his mistress fell ill and she wants a Royal treatment. She's always saying it's my fault, I pushed him, just let him be. Or worse, he's my mate, he'll learn to love me as the mate bond grows”

My mouth falls open as she continues to state the things Aurelia endured.

“Stop scolding her and let's focus on her recovery. You know her health issues”

Health issues? Aurelia has health issues?

No way.

“What…”

“That's enough for today, how about you walk around, stretch your body and breathe in some fresh air like you always do” Aurelia's mother suggested, which I'm grateful for.

I've not even stepped out of this room since I opened my eyes here, I nodded as fast as I could.

“Good then, silver, grab her coat and let's head out” she gave out instructions as she helped me up, sliding the slippers into my legs.

We walked out as soon as the filter grabbed my coat to keep me warm if it got too cold for me outside.

My mouth was slightly opened from the moment I stepped out of the room I was confined in, the Hallway was painted with beautiful colors. Whoever the artist was must either just play around with colors or they definitely know what they're going for. Each turn is a different color of its own.

Like they're narrating a meaning or defining the people in each quarters and chambers.

By the time we walked into the garden, my mouth was wide open, the beautiful green scenery was nothing like light smoke pack. I let my hand wander through the flowers, I couldn't help the smile that played on my lips. I felt something stir in me, something come alive. I feel free and ready to fly.

“Come sit here dear, let me get you some tea and snacks” Aurelia's mother offered, disappearing into one side of the garden. I looked around for silver and she's nowhere to be found.

I walked to the bench she pointed to earlier, I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh air. My lip spread into a wide smile when I heard footsteps approaching.

Expecting silver or her mother but instead a beautiful lady that could easily pass for a Goddess walked into the garden.

I looked at her from her head to her toes and I couldn't believe my eyes, she's human.

I opened my mouth to greet her but she beat me to it.

“So you really came back from the dead huh?” she glared, my brow knitted on their own.

Who is she?

“Do you hate Aiden so much that you would do anything to make him miserable? Including staying alive?”

“Don't you dare talk to my sister like that!” Silver barked from behind us.

Oh, the Guardian dog is here”

Silver looked like she was ready to pounce on her, she took about two steps towards her when Aiden's voice boomed, lacing more tension into the air.

“You won't dare lay a hand on your Luna! Except you want to be beheaded” Both mine and silver eyes widened that I fear they could burst out of their sockets.

“Luna?” I questioned weakly

“Yes, she'll be crowned as Luna. So you'll give her the respect she deserves. You can try if you want to know what I'll do” he walked out of the garden with her.

After I heard him ask her if she's fine or hurt. I watched their joined hands till they were no longer out of sight.

Again, my legs gave way and I collapsed on the bench.

Men are cruel!

Fate is worse!!

  • Riya's Rebirth   Chapter 39: ALLY

Aurelia/Riya“What?” She nodded with more tears streaming down her eyes, she looked so hopeless, her red puffy and pale face made her look more pitiful. I've heard the stories, at first from Susan then from the older women in the pack. Aiden's worst enemy are his step siblings, he has whosoever has a thing with them or ever got in contact with them after they sent them out of the pack. He cuts them off and forbids their name from being mentioned in the pack. He made sure everything connected to them were burnt down and their ashes were spread across the borders. The hatred runs deep, even deeper than the ocean but here I am sitting with Silver, my sister who finally found her mate after years of searching and hoping but he turns out to be her Alpha’s enemy. An Alpha's enemy is also the pack's enemy and the pack's enemy is also every pack member's enemy. “I'm finished, I don't know what to do. I'm going crazy trying to arrive at a nearest solution without implicating my family” h

  • Riya's Rebirth   Chapter 38: Aidan's enemy

AureliaI don't care if he or anyone finds out about my hair or not. Not her making me feel stupid, It took everything in me not to blurt it out to them. Silver made me look stupid right there and that's not acceptable to me. I'm not going to stand here and be ridiculed. I lay on my bed and plot my next move, I've spent a little over three full moons here and I have nothing to show for it. I feel stupid at my little to no progress. I need to be right where I had envisioned myself, right where Aurelia had pictured herself. No. Not Aurelia, the only picture and dream she had was to be the only one Aiden wants and I don't think that would work. Not only because I can't stand his ass but I can't stand him as a whole not to talk of him as my partner. He'll never be more than Aurelia’s Mate to me. “Is she asleep?”I heard Silver asking Susan if I was asleep, I'm so mad at her that I don't want to see her anywhere close to me. “Does she look very angry when she came back?” Glad to

  • Riya's Rebirth   The truth

Aurelia/RiyaI was the one who got in trouble, yet Silver was the one panicking. I understood there would be consequences, maybe evenpunishment— but she was acting like it was the end of the world, making it seem more dramatic than it was.“You can cover up with this, or maybe this one,” she said.Silver had Susan bring out almost my entire closet, searching for outfits with scarves that could cover my head. I wasn’t interested in any of them.I sat at the edge of the bed, watching her and Susan shuffle through clothes, pulling one out and tossing it aside. She was going crazy. Most of them are outfits I never thought I had, this was my first time seeing them. My hand trailed them, the silk materials soften under my palm. I'm definitely wear one of these, this week. It hadn’t just been minutes, it had been hours. Hours of torture, of watching her pick an outfit, call it perfect, then reject it. She was driving herself mad, and I wasn’t interfering.“This is it!” she cried, holding u

  • Riya's Rebirth   Chapter 36: Mayhem After

Aidan's POV“What have you done?!”The words left my mouth before I could even announce my presence.I was informed yesterday that Aurelia wasn't feeling well. I intentionally didn't make any attempt to see her.It was probably one of her old crises returning. Some things you never fully outgrow. I had told myself that when I got the news.I couldn’t sleep all night because Kharl refused to rest. He was pacing in my head and disrupting my sleep for no particular reason.I got up as early as I could, putting on my training kit as I walked into the training field to ease myself a bit and train out my frustration.Yesterday was an off day for all the soldiers, to relax, make merry, and be with their families. But nothing could have prepared me for the sight in front of me when I arrived that morning.First, it was the glass of alcohol and the smell that reeked across the field. It looked like they had a blast yesterday, no doubt, but the deeper I walked in, the more disgusted I felt.I s

  • Riya's Rebirth   Chapter 35: The Price Of Freedom

Aurelia/Riya’s POV“Let me go!”The whispers kept me up all night. I tossed and turned until I could finally feel my body move again. When I woke up later that night, I was alone in the room. My heart raced, and sweat broke across my face. My body trembled as a cold shiver traveled down my spine.I watched the white curtains float as a breeze blew in. The room had grown colder—not suddenly, but gradually in a way that was hard to understand.“Let me go!”The wind rushed in harder this time, making the curtains flap loudly. That same tiny yet bold voice came again for the third time. This time, it was pleading, low and filled with sadness.“Please let me go.”“I’m not holding you,” I stammered. “I don’t even know who you are… or why I can hear your voice in my head.”My eyes scanned the room as I pushed myself into a sitting position. Every hair on my body stood on end, goosebumps covering my skin in a fresh layer.“The hair. Let the hair go, and we’ll both be free.”“The… air? I didn’

  • Riya's Rebirth   Chapter 34: Hair

Aurelius PovSomething just didn't sit right with me, every fiber of me felt heavy like I was carrying a weight that doesn't belong to me. Like more load has been dumped on my shoulders and its weight is killing me. I woke up to back pains every morning and my waist and joints were not sitting back. It's more like I was experiencing the chronicles of old age where all parts of my body had given up on me and I was only hanging by a thread. “You look tense and your shoulders are stiff, am I doing anything wrong?” The maid asked, “What? Noo, you didn't do anything wrong”“Are you sure?” The older maid chipped in, “it's okay if you feel she's not doing it right”She walked closer into the sauna space, I saw her rubbed oil on her palm from the corner of my eyes.I came down here for a release but it looks like more bricks and burden were dumped on me. Her palm pressed deep into my flesh as she tried to help me soften the knot under my skin on my shoulders but nothing. I felt her finger
