It has been two weeks since her first event ushering experience and she was already getting used to the job. Now preparing for her third event which is her last ushering job with Mr Charles as her supervisor, she couldn’t contain her excitement because she was tired of watching him treated her and her colleagues with no respect and less pay.
Her friend Lya has moved to another agency, she wanted to join her but she couldn’t because she had to stay and pay for the damages she incurred on her first day as an event usher.
With 20% of her pay being deducted, she had little or nothing to take back home but she was glad that she would complete the payment soon.
She was done packing her bag with all she needed before getting dressed and start heading to their usual spot where they gather before being conveyed by a bus to the event place. She finished packing quite early so she decided to take her time and prepare for this event.
She was done dressing and was adding finishing touches to her makeup when she heard her mum call her.
“Yes, mum”, she replied as she opened the door that led to the sitting room.
She met her mum sitting with a very rich-looking woman whom she has never met, the woman was in her late 50’s same age as her mum but looked younger, the woman smiled at me and said “your daughter really looks beautiful”
“Yes naw, omalicha mummy”, her mum spoke happily in Igbo dialect {meaning “her mum’s beauty”}
“Thank you ma’am”, she said politely
“Your son would easily fall in love with her, don’t you think so?” Seline’s mum suggested, Seline turned to face her mum’s direction in surprise giving her a questioning look. But her mum ignored her and simply went ahead discussing with the woman.
She took the cue and went to pick up her bag, said goodbye to both women and left the house. She was pissed, but she didn’t show it, she just wanted to leave that environment because it feels like the world has a way of adding unhappiness to her daily schedule.
Instead of taking a bus, she decided to walk, it was a kind of therapy for her. It helps clear her mind from all negative thoughts, pressure, and anger most times.

He left the studio in a hurry without getting to conclude the song he just pre-recorded, shouting instructions to the studio engineer on what he expected of his recordings.
He was late for his dad’s birthday, he could not afford to be there late especially after his mum took out time to plan the event and specially invited him. His mum was the only reason he was going there and he wasn’t going to stay for long, that’s a sure thing because he doesn’t want them trying to match make him, marriage was not part of his plans.
He was moving too fast that he didn’t notice the pot-hole on the road because it was filled with water from the rain that fell the previous night, before he could slow down it was already too late. The car galloped and splashed water on someone walking on the pedestrian lane, but he rather keeps moving if he was going to beat time.
He needs to put up a good impression and nothing is going to stop him, with that in mind he drove towards his destination with his phone to his ear calling his wardrobe stylist to put something together for this event.

Her baggy jean pants were drenched from the splash, and the person driving the car couldn’t even have the courtesy to stop even if it was an “I’m sorry” that would have helped a little more than just driving off.
Can her day be any better?
She checked her wristwatch and she was already 30 minutes late, she has spent time cleaning herself so she didn’t take note of time. She was just a few blocks away from her destination so she hastened her footsteps and on arrival, the bus was about to leave.
“Which excuse you want give again?” Mr. Charles spat out
“And why your body wet?” he asked looking at her wet clothing
“Na one mad man use e car splash water for my body,” Seline replied in pidgin English“he no even…..” she continued but saw that Mr. Charles wasn’t near interested in listening to her, so she stopped talking and got on the bus.

The event décor was out of this world it screamed “elegance, sophistication”, it was a small event but exudes opulence and sophistication, it wasn’t for just anybody.
“Please listen carefully,” she heard Mr. Charles call their attention to the announcement he wanted to make.
“This is not the usual event you’ve been to, this is a high-class event and you’re to give your absolute best, if you have anything more than the best kindly put it into today’s job” Mr Charles spoke to everyone with all seriousness and especially to her following her records of being clumsy, the pointed look he gave her while talking was enough warning to keep her on her toes.

He paced from one end of his room to the other, why couldn’t he find his wristwatch? He has checked everywhere and can’t seem to find it. He decided to go with the Rolex watch he got two months ago that has been lying in the watch storage because it wasn’t his style, but he had no option but to go with it as he was running out of time. The crowd was buzzing with excitement as they wait for his arrival, the paparazzi were already stationed outside the entrance, cameras flashing and reporters clamoring for a quote. Fans are chanting his name, eagerly anticipating his arrival. The crowd erupts in cheers at the sight of his entourage, and security personnel spring into action, creating a pathway for him to enter. The car door opens, and he stepped out looking glamorous and poised. Dressed in a designer outfit, with complimenting well-trimmed haircut, he stepped onto the red carpet, and the crowd goes wild. Cameras flash incessantly as he makes his way down the red carpet. He stops to p
Seline didn’t know what to do, So, she simply bow her head and decided to act too busy. “Fine girl”, Seline called out to another waitress to switch places with her. She needed to leave that environment before he would recognize her. -------------------------------------- The party was in full swing, waiters and waitresses, impeccably dressed in crisp black and white uniforms, scurried across the room, expertly balancing trays laden with delicate champagne flutes and an array of delectable small chops. The clinking of glasses and the hum of conversation merged into a harmonious symphony, as guests mingled and exchanged pleasantries. A live band, stationed on an elevated stage, played a melodious jazz tune, setting the perfect backdrop for the festivities. The CEO, surrounded by a sea of well-wishers, smiled graciously, engaging in captivating conversations that echoed his sharp intellect and business acumen. The aromas of gourmet cuisine filled the air, tempting even the most dis
The sun's gentle rays peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow across Amy's face as she stirred from her slumber. Her heart fluttered with a mix of excitement and nerves. Today marked a significant milestone in her journey—a year had passed since she had joined the Zion Groups, and now she stood on the precipice of a new chapter. With a deep breath, Amy rose from her bed and made her way to the window. The cityscape stretched out before her, a tapestry of possibilities. Today was her first day as the CEO of the Diamond Groups, a position she had earned through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in her abilities. As she dressed, each movement deliberate and purposeful, Amy couldn't help but reflect on the past year. Her time at the Zion Groups had been transformative, filled with challenges and growth. She had proven herself time and again, surpassing expectations and earning the respect of her colleagues. But now, she was returning to her roots, to the compan
Seline woke up that Monday morning with worries written all over her face. She didn’t know what to expect. “What would be her job description? Would she be able to keep up with being the PA to a celebrity?” Seline! Seline!! “You no dey go work?”, Seline’s mum screamed in pidgin English to her hearing as she jerked up. Ah! She is already running late and it is her first day working as a PA for Sweet. She quickly took her bath and got dressed wearing a pencil skirt and a chiffon top, it was one of her best sets of clothing and she hoped it meets Sweet’s standard. As she silently self-motivated herself, she got up to leave as she had only 30 mins to get to the address that was sent to her. Seline! her mother called Seline stopped on her track and turned in her mother’s direction. “Prepare to meet Mrs Veronica’s son this weekend, he would be coming back from Abuja on Wednesday.” Without saying a word Seline turned towards the door and left, she was already running late and didn’t
“could you walk faster!” Seline fastened her pace to catch up with the long strides of her new boss. Even with her effort to reach him, his long legs were doing no good, and he wasn’t even bothered if she was catching up or not. “You need to see this” Marcus Sweet’s manager passed him his phone. Sweet’s face immediately moved from cheerful to aggravated. “Can you move faster!” Sweet was now in a very bad mood, Seline couldn't understand why but she knows better than to say a word, so she followed his every instruction. As we got closer to his black Audi, was just thanking my stars that finally I’ll be dropping these shopping bags that weigh more than the weight of a cow because I was already exhausted from carrying the heavy bags on my shoulders and running after my boss “Get a cab and meet me in my house in 30 mins” Sweet snapped, his voice sharp and demanding. Seline looked around, unsure if he was speaking to her or someone else nearby. Before she could inquire, the engine of
The city lights shimmered like stars as Seline made her way through the bustling streets. Anger still simmered within her, a potent mix of frustration and indignation. She couldn't believe her mother had invited a suitor from their church as if her life were a game of arranged matrimony. Tonight, she needed an escape from it all, and an unlikely choice presented itself - a club. Arriving at the vibrant establishment, the pulsating beat of music filled the air, reverberating through her bones. This was not her usual scene, but tonight, it seemed like the perfect antidote to the heaviness she carried. She spotted her friend, Lya, at a corner table, her smile a welcoming beacon amidst the flashing lights. Lya looked surprised as Seline approached, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern. "Hey there, what's going on?" she asked, sensing the turmoil beneath Seline's facade. Seline sank into the seat opposite Lya, trying to compose herself. "I... I just needed a break, you know? My
Seline groaned as she slowly opened her eyes, greeted by the harsh sunlight that seemed to pierce through her pounding head. She winced, realizing that her head was throbbing from the hangover she had acquired at the club last night. Memories of dancing and laughter flashed through her mind, but they were now overshadowed by the consequences of her actions. She glanced at the clock on her bedside table and gasped in horror. She was already one hour late for work! Frantically, she stumbled out of bed and rushed to get ready, trying to put on her professional façade despite the chaos within. As she hurriedly dressed, she hoped to avoid running into her mother, knowing that her disapproval would only exacerbate her guilt. Seline's mind raced with thoughts of how irresponsible she had been, staying out late and getting drunk when she had important responsibilities to fulfill. She knew she was up to a lot of scolding not from her boss alone but her mum too. Sweet's POV: Sweet had been
As Sweet settled into his chair, preparing for the meeting with potential investors. He had a lot on his mind, but something was distracting him today – his PA, Seline. He couldn't help but notice the way Seline was dressed today. Her usual professional attire had been replaced by a stunning outfit that emphasized her curves and confidence. The skin-tight jeans and the sleek leather jacket clung to her in a way that made it difficult for him to focus on anything else. Marcus tried to shake off the distraction, reminding himself that this was not the time or place to let his thoughts wander. He had a meeting going on, and it required his full attention. But just as he attempted to immerse himself in the discussion, he noticed Mr. Smith, one of the potential investors, stealing glances at Seline. Sweet felt a surge of irritation bubbling within him. He couldn't believe that Mr. Smith was allowing himself to be so unprofessional during a business meeting. To add to it, he couldn’t und
