(ACCALIA'S POV)
The moment I regained consciousness, I regretted it instantly. My head throbbed with a relentless and heavy ache and the blinding sunlight filtering through the curtains felt like an assault on my eyes. As I tried to piece together the events of the previous night, I felt a strong feeling of irritation washed over me when the vivid memory of my parents asking me to marry Ken Peterson flooded in, and I hissed in annoyance.I groaned in irritation, wanting nothing more than to bury my head under the covers and block out the world.I intended to roll over and go back to sleep, to escape the impending storm of parental pressure, but then the distorted and blurry memories flooded into my mind. The club, the sultry proposition I had dared to make and the my goodness gracious, the handsome and mysterious stranger named Don, it all came rushing back.My eyes widened in embarrassment as I remembered my reckless proposal to a man I barely knew. The last thing I recalled him saying before I drifted into an alcohol filled slumber echoed in my mind like a warning, "I'm not one to be messed with, pumpkin."I screamed into my pillow in embarrassment, questioning my own sanity for making such a proposition. Had anything happened between us? What the hell was wrong with me? What had I been thinking? How reckless had I been to approach a stranger in such a manner?Swallowing my embarrassment, I decided to leave the past where it belonged, forget all about my crazy act and i attempted to go back to sleep. But I could not sleep, my thoughts were consumed by the mysterious man named Don, his intense gaze was hatched deep inside of my brain, his smile had sent tingles all throughout my body…I shivered from the recollection. His words echoed through my head, his voice echoing around my thoughts. The memory of his touch still lingered in my flesh. I could smell his scent still linger on my skin. My senses seemed heightened. My heart beat faster than usual. I was unable to control the fluttering in my stomach and my face blushed crimson. That was when the realization hit me that I was naked, oh my goodness! Did he also bath me? I couldn't really remember it all?I quickly covered myself up with the bed cover in fear of him seeing me undressed and possibly… Noooo, don't even think that way. I tried convincing myself that I did not want anything more to do with the mysterious, mysterious man named Don. Was he still in the room? I had woken up to an empty bed, I couldn't remember if we had spent the night together."Mr.. Don, if you're in the bathroom, please come out!" I called out desperately, clutching the cover tightly around my body.I heard no response so I got up from the bed and strode over to the bathroom, I opened the bathroom door and peered in but I was met with a spotless and exquisite empty bathroom. I let out a small sigh of relief. If he was already gone then there shouldn't have been any issue with me getting dressed.Dressed and still overwhelmed by the whirlwind of the night, I checked out of the fine hotel, wondering if the stranger, Don, was as wealthy as the surroundings suggested. The encounter felt like a fever dream, but the memory of his dark, intense gaze still haunted me.I hailed a cab and quickly entered, telling the driver my destination. I was rushing to my best friend, Bentley's house, I couldn't wait to spill the bizarre and captivating tale of my night with the most handsome and mysterious stranger I have ever met, Don. Bentley was the only person who could offer me the solace and advice I needed in moments like these. I also needed to tell her about my parents plans to marry me off to Ken Peterson. The cab stopped in front of her family house, I climbed out of the cab and quickly paid the cab driver before I dashed into my friends house."Oh my God Bentley, you won't believe what happened to me last night." I screamed out as I spotted Bentley sitting beside their luxurious pool.Bentley was a real beauty, she had long red hair that went all the way down to her back, pale skin and beautiful green eyes that always seemed to sparkle with mischief or excitement. She was also incredibly intelligent, she was quite boyish in many ways. She prefered to wear masculine clothes than dresses. Her favorite pair of dark black sneakers paired nicely with a black tank top and ripped black baggy jeans which made her look like some kind of hipster chick from the 90's.She also wore leather jackets with patches that were either made out of fake animal skins, feathers. She was the complete opposite of me and my feminine energy. She laughed and asked, "What happened that has you so excited this morning?"I plopped myself onto the edge of the pool where she was sitting. She was currently holding a book and I could tell from the book cover, it was one of those cheap romance novels with little good writing skills. That was just something weird about Bentley, even though she was boyish and hated the thought of being all lovey dovey, she loved romance novels and movies so much that there wasn't any she hadn't watched.I narrated my whole ordeal to Bentley and I was grateful that she lebt me a listening ear. Though she had been really angry at the thought of me getting married to Ken, especially since she knew what he had done and what he was still capable of doing. I also told her about the handsome stranger and of course, she made fun of me and we just laughed over it, she made me forget my problems momentarily.I avoided picking up my parents nonstop calls, knowing that they would want answers that I just couldn't provide yet. Hours passed and I had no choice but to head home much later than I had intended, lost in my thoughts and memories of the handsome stranger. But as I entered my sitting room, I was met with an unexpected sight. Don was there, seated and he was in conversation with my parents. The shock of seeing him in such my home left me speechless. My step mother turned to me and with a mischievous glint in her eye, she exclaimed, "Oh, here comes your bride!"(ACCALIA'S POV)My eyes traveled to where Don sat, He was dressed in a dark suit, with a crisp white shirt and a silk tie. His shoes are shined to a mirror-like finish, and he's wearing a gold watch on his wrist. His expression is unreadable, but there's a hint of a smirk on his lips. His eyes are cold and calculating, and he exudes an aura of power and control. He sits back on the couch, one leg crossed casually over the other as if he owns the room. Everything about him screams danger and authority, his gaze holding empty emotions in them, I was confused, I had a hazy memory of him at the bar but he was the one as his strong cologne filled the entire room,Clarissa pasted a fake smile on her face as she approached me.“What's going on?” I managed to whisper to her.“What do you mean what's going on? He came for you.” Her voice rang like a bell in my head, as I looked at everyone in the room.“You all have got to be joking, right?” I asked but Dad only smiled as he stared at me,and
ACCALIA'S POVWe got downstairs, to see Dad and Aunt Clarissa. The look on their faces seems subtle and confused. I stood behind Don, as he spoke,“I'm taking her home tonight.” He says, Dad shared a look with Aunt Clarissa, then to me,“Why all of a sudden? The marriage rites are yet to be done.” He managed to say, Don turned his head slowly to him,”Marriage rites?" They both nodded frantically,“Lia and I already did that. I just came here to pick up my wife before you give her up.” He paused, then allowed them to digest what he had just said, then continued” We'll see you at the wedding.” They both stood in awe at what was happening, even I was shocked because I wasn't expecting that response from him.He looked at me with a cold expression, “Pack your things and meet me in the car." He said as he straightened his jacket and adjusted his tie. He gave me a cold, hard look, and then turns and walks out the door without a word. As he leaves, I feel a sense of relief wash over me. I c
ACCALIA'S POV“He had a sister? I didn't know..” the butler looked away as if telling me was not a great idea.“Don't let the master know I told you.”He stated, then helped me with my bags as he showed me the room.“This is where you'll be staying for the meantime.”“Wow, Don sure has some goodness in him,” I said in a low voice, The butler looked at me and then said, “You shouldn't get too caught up with that. The master is pretty Dangerous.” As we climbed the stairs the walls of the house were mostly artworks hung on them, there were no single pictures on the wall.We got to my room, and he turned the doorknob and opened the door, I was wowed by its majestic looks,The walls were a soft, buttery yellow, and the curtains were a luxurious ivory silk. The furniture is all antique, with hand-carved details and gilded accents. The fireplace is a masterpiece of marble and gold, with a roaring fire burning inside. The room was filled with light, streaming in through the windows and refle
DON'S POVI couldn't eat, the banging from the gate seemed too loud, too bad Luca wasn't here to kick off his butts.“Where are the guards?” I frowned I turned to Butler Roy,“The guards? They should be with Luca. You sent them to go with him”. He answered quickly, Groaning in anger, I picked up my cell phone as I head to the door,“What's with all the noise!” I asked furiously, Lia turned to me as if scared to see me,“I'm sorry, he was just leaving?”“Don? Isn't that Don Donato? You're married to this monster?” He drew his finger at me as I stood, looking at him making a mess of himself.“What do you mean_”I immediately cut her off, and turned to him, “You have just five minutes to leave if you don't want to kiss this horrible world goodbye” I warned keenly as I walked back into the house banging the door without me, he should be just lucky, I do not have any prove to pin him as a criminal. I entered my room as Accalia busted in banging the door behind her,“What was Ken talking
ACCALIA'S POVDon was upset and to be honest, I knew that I made him angry. I looked at the clock on the wall and realized that it was still too damn too early and there was absolutely no way I would be able to go see him at his office, not when the contract stated that I must always stay hidden, I was his anonymous wife. I let out a bored sigh and continued to play with the food on my plate.“Would you like to talk about it?” A familiar voice asked, I raised my head and my gaze fell on Butler Roy. Believe it or not, I came to find out that he was one of the best staff Don had, and judging by his look, it appeared like he had worked for the Donato family for a very long time.I sighed before I spoke, “ No… I don't just get it.”He squinted his brows and stared at me in confusion, “What don't you get, young miss?”“Don? Your boss, He's so difficult to read and understand. How am I supposed to cope with him?” I complained bitterly. I and Don weren't even married properly yet, I mean we
ACCALIA'S POVI got to my family's mansion and got out of the cab. Entering the gate, I received greetings from the workers and I noticed the side glances they were giving each other but I chose to put no meaning into it. I entered the main building and walked into the living room, and just as I had entered my gaze landed on Ken who was sitted there with his legs crossed over the other and he smirked. Him sitting there reminded me of just few days ago when Don had been sitted in that same spot. What was he playing right now? I wondered to myself, why was Ken in my family house?I shifted my gaze to my Dad and I noticed he had a frown on his face while Clarissa was giving me a dirty look and she rolled her eyes as soon as our gaze met.“What's going on? Why the sudden call?” I asked but no one was ready to give me a response. I sighed, I was really in no mood for my family drama today!“Did you or did you not tell Don about your marriage to Ken?” My Dad suddenly asked I was taken abac
DON'S POV“What the hell is wrong with you?” I asked her because I did not understand why she would go back to that house.“What is wrong with me?” she threw the same question back at me.“You know Ken very much and no matter how I try to help you you keep messing up!”“Why didn't you tell me? Huh? Why didn't you tell me you knew Ken? You know, I'm beginning to see this whole thing as a fucking setup! A game between you two, some kind of freaking prank!”“Wow! May I refresh your memory and remind you that you were the one that had walked up to me and begged me to marry you and save you? Even though you and practically everyone knows that I would not be caught dead with a person like you!” I spat out those words so calmly and in such a nonchalant manner. What the hell did he mean by it was all a plan? I would never be Ken Peterson ally, never in a million years would that happen. It seemed like my words had hit her in the heart like a dagger, She squeezed her face like she was feelin
DON'S POV“I do not want to see you."He looked at me then frowned a bit, “You do know that you're talking to your father.” He added but I just walked over to the seat and sat down.“Dad? Why are you here? Clearly, you must have a reason to be here.” I asked avoiding his question.“No respect,” he hissed, then stood up and said, “It got to my notice that you have a young lady whom you intend to marry in your home.” I turned to him, stunned. How the hell did he find out? “How did you know? I haven't told anyone yet?”He lets out a small laugh “You seem to not know your father. I know everything and anything.” He knew everything, but yet he didn't know the culprit behind Maria's death, I scoffed.“Well now you know, what are you going to do about it? Stop the union?” I threw the words directly at him.“Stop you? It's time you had a wife.” He began, “Bring her to the family dinner as well as her father. I would like to know who is this girl."“What? That's not happening. Do not interfer
