Chapter 6: Her lovers side

Love was in the air,so sweet,so alluring, how romantic it was as though jewel and Asher were portalled into their little world of romance. Every single day, Jewel marked the dates on her calendar that rested just above the chimney in her room anticipating the day of her consummation. She would no longer wait to be by her Love's  side. They would spend every single moment together. With time their love had intensified and it was as though nothing would stop them from loving each other. There was a bond and a longing to be one. One body,one flesh and one heart. She shyly wondered how her consummation night would be like. In as much as she tried to not let her love life affect her studies,Asher was in everything she did. They sat together, ate together, walked together,practicals and school work and every other thing except that which was meant for the consummation night. Asher was not left out in this feeling. He wanted her, he wanted his soul mate. The transfer had been the best thing that had ever happened to him. Jewel's rosy red cheek when she blushed, her dazzling eyes and cute curved lips never seized to amaze him and throw him in awe. The racing under the moonlight when they transformed into wolves was exciting. He always reduced his speed so that jewel would win. The race didn't matter to him. What mattered was her cheerful smile and the hugs he got from her afterwards. Other times when he didn't give her a chance she would shrug and say that she was not prepared. Asher's sister could go on and on teasing him “alpha Romeo, oh! I shall die if thou takest my love from me” she would say this grinning from ear to ear with a dramatic pose. She would burst into laughter and trouble Asher the best way she could. He did not care about her actions,they excited him.

Admists this delight,Jana grew in jealousy each and every single day."it ought to be me. I am prettier and curvier" she would say after taking a long stare at herself in the mirror. "I deserve better " . At some point,Jana didn't seem to care anymore. It was as though it meant nothing to her. She soon continued with her life of gyration as their birthday approached, she seemed more cheerful and livelier.

Linda had been so keen to observe this new change of character and as such she watched Jana at close quarters but tried to be careful enough as not to be noticed.

       A month to go ! The preparations were in full swing."Mrs Asher, Mrs Asher Jewel"Jewel said giggling in front of the large mirror that graced her room so elegantly that she wished she could take it with her to her new home. Thoughts like this one steered up excitement her. Thoughts like the one when Asher whispered into her ears on a cold night "can't wait for consummation". He said it holding up her chin and pressing a kiss to her lips. It had made sparks fly inside of her and she hoped for moments like that in marriage. A knock came in and in high Spirit, Jewel rushed off to open the door. There stood no other person than Jana. It was strange,something that had never happened before. Jana stood smiling at Jewel and she came with a box. " sister,won't you let me in? Where are your goody shoes manners " said Jana still smiling. What bothered Jewel was not the smile. It was her countenance. Her smile was not pretentious or devilish as it usually was. This smile was  genuine and even if the reason was not anything Jewel could think of, it made her happy."c..come in please"said Jewel  pinching herself to be sure it wasn't  a dream "hmmm,  sister your room has changed from what I used to know" said Jana as she walked further into the room. She did not wait for permission before she dropped the box on the table and climbed unto Jewel's bed "Are you alright? Asked Jewel still perplexed. " why yes...shouldn't I be? Or do you deserve all the happiness to your self?"rolling from side to side Jana continued. "Your room looks fine and more comfortable than mine. I guess that is what I get for being the goat in the family" it isn't true" said Jewel as she closed the door behind her and walked towards Jana. " I didn't come for war miss" sitting up now with a serious look " your consummation is in few days is that not so?" Asked Jana. "You are right replied Jewel quite confused." I came to congratulate you then. I might not have the time to do this after today. I am your sister and I want you to know that i love you very much" said Jana. Silence followed then an abrupt laughter ensued from her." Did you believe that?well you should. I brought you a box of chocolate to celebrate. Won't you try Some? Asked Jana smiling. " I...I ..will,thank you. Its surprising how you have changed this few days. I thought you would be upset about the whole event of things happening". Said Jewel in a relaxing manner as she sat at the edge of the bed."u deserve to be happy . There is a picnic party in the garden this evening. I am setting the party for us to catch up. You should come.Believe me,it will be fun"said Jana as she stood up to leave the room. Just as she opened the door, Linda walked in. "Your Majesty's said Linda as she posed to greet. " well,well,well, for once I would have thought that you were eavesdropping Linda. Anyways, you are invited to our party". Turning to face Jana again she said."you should bring Asher as well. His little sister,the one you tell dad a lot about should come too. The more the merrier. We will have loads of fun and surprises. Linda don't be bothered about my change. I am just happy for my beautiful sister". With this been said, she walked out of the room shutting  the door behind her. " what is going on?,when did she become so nice?.asked Linda "its strange but I don't think its wrong. Like she said,she us just happy for me" replied Jewel. "Is she really happy for you and why do you think she would?you know how much your sister dislikes you". Placing her arms at akimbo and feeling satisfied with the point been made,she continued" there is something fishy going on and I am going to get to the bottom of it." Dear Linda, detective linda. Everything is fine and everyone can be good too. Try to see thing in the positive light. I do not want to suspect anyone" said Jewel as she picked up the box of chocolate and stretching it to Linda she said "would you stand here and be a detective or join me to enjoy these chocolates?Jana offered them to me with so much love and then,would you mind coming to the picnic too? I want to enjoy the rest of my day. You don't know if Jana would go back to her old ways so while she is good, I am going to bask in the moment" said a cheerful Jewel. Linda did not respond in a way that Jewel would expect. What she did startled her.

Linda woke up to see herself in a dungeon tied down by heavy chains and suffered a severe head ache. However the pain could not be compared to that she felt from the cuts and bruises that colonised her fragile skin. She was too weak to cry out. She had been screaming but all to no avail. She  raised her head up to receive a little light that peaked through a tiny hole on the wall. She wished she could shrink into a little person and go through the hole but then that was impossible. The door opened and Jana walked in. Jana was dressed in a beautiful red gown that hugged her curvy features nicely and fell just above her knees. Her hair was fashioned to give a rosy effect and she had adorned her face with beautiful make up. Painting her lips with with red glossy lipstick that marched her dress. Her slender neck down to her shoulder was adorned with a magnificent daimond necklace. She looked truly ravishing. She walked up to Linda quietly. She observed her for a while,turned her back at her  then turned again with a rush and gave Linda a heavy slap right across her cheek." You meddle too much. You should be enjoying the consummation ceremony. You should be by Jewel's side today shouldn't you Linda? Unfortunately, I have to fill in for you. Linda would fight even with the last calorie of energy she had. "You have changed into a monster...you are far worse than what people see you to be. You are evil and your plans won't fall through. You will fail". Linda said this still wincing in pain. " ha! I will do whatever I please. Why would you think for a second that you were smarter than me. Throwing the chocolates away, preventing Asher from attending the picnic and you even dared to stalk me up to Lucia's house"said Jana. "You won't get away with this said Linda trying to retain balance " guess what! I already did. He chose me" Jana said smiling wickedly as she watched the shock in Linda's eyes."b...b..but ..the portion... " Linda was interrupted by Jana " you ruined so many of my charms but you couldn't keep track of all my deeds . Jewel won't find you. I told her you said you were too ashamed to face her again.I said that you have gone far never to return again." Jana erupted in a fit of laughter and continued " you tried so hard and I must commend you for that but your best was not good enough. Today I will be consumed by..."edging closer she whispered into Linda's ear"Asher and you will die never to bother me again".immediately,Jana transformed into a wolf and sunck her teeth into Linda's neck. She did not pull out till she was sure that Linda had died. Turning back to human, she observed the lifeless body that was on the floor. She then left the dungeon.

"Oh Jewel, I am so sorry. I don't know why he chose me. I refused him. I told him how much I wanted your happiness but he said it didn't bother him at all. He said he was only messing around with you. I couldn't just tell you my dear". Jana said these words tearfully but deep down in her heart she was happy. Her plans had worked and not even Linda had been able to stop her. She hugged Jewel and wiped her tears from her cheeks. Jana had cried so much from the moment Asher had chosen Jana over her at the consummation ceremony. She had rushed up to him" Asher it is me you want"he had pushed her aside and declared that he had no business with her. She had been heart broken watching him kiss her sister passionately infront of everyone. It had hurt her to watch her father turn In to something she never knew he was. He had chose his principles over her by immediately giving her off to the Alpha of the north. All this had happened in less than two hours. It all seemed like a dream. She pinched herself to be sure that she had seen Jana steal a glance at her and smiled devilishly before kissing Asher. " you are a bad person. I should have known " said Jewel raising her voice as she pushed Jana away from her". You did this. It was you. You were never happy for me. This was your scheme all along. What did you do to my Asher?".Jana erupted in laughter...  A dried cold laughter that screamed evil and hate. Facing her sister, she lashed back" then I should stop pretending and yes I did it. What are you going to do about it?mmm its already over . I won. I thought you were smarter but you are as dumb as a pig. A big fool. How could I ever be happy for you when all you do is to  steal the spotlight from me ".kneeling to come to same height as Jewel she said" you deserve what you have gotten. Accept it in good fate. You couldn't see through the box of chocolate, the picnic party, and even the ball party. You gave him the perfume I asked you to give to him without even suspecting a thing. " you wanted to poison me and Asher "gasped Jewel. Jana did not reply but gave Jewel a stinging slap." Talk to me with respect. I am someone's mate. Today I will be consumed by your lover". She said this in a kind of seductive tone then she used her hands to rip Jewel's clothes off. You should wear rags to meet your new owner. He won't be nice to you after all. You will be gone before the end of today. He should meet his lab rat in rags isn't that a wonderful present to offer to him?. As for Linda.. (Jewel gasped) she is dead. I made sure of it. She was too nosy for her own good. Anyways, you will be gone too and I will have everything to my self. I deserve it".said Jana as she pushed Jewel to make her head come in contact with the floor," see you never again blood ".it was her final statement before she left th e room slamming it hard against her sister.
