Three weeks had passed since she had been confined. She could watch television, she was given exquisite food daily, and they even provided her with pajamas. For a kidnapping, she was having a pretty good time.

Almost every day, the question lingered in her mind: "Why the hell did Mr. Lison have her here?" "What was he looking for in the first place?"

"Ron," she called out to one of her guards.

The man approached the young woman. His name wasn’t Ron, but that’s how she communicated with him.

"Do you know where the boss is?" the girl asked, gesturing dramatically.

Ron shook his head, wondering if the girl was unaware of the great danger she was in.

"Do you know if I’ll ever get to go home?"

The man didn’t understand a word Libia had just said.

She stopped asking questions. It wasn’t that she was having a bad time, but she missed her friends, her freedom.

After two hours, Libia went into the bathroom; she needed to take a shower. She dried off with a white towel, put on her new pajamas—pastel pink with a golden moon printed on the front of the shirt—and came out of the bathroom with the towel still wrapped around her head, when she saw him, sitting on the bed, looking at his phone.

"Mr. Lison," she said, surprised.

"You look ridiculous," Tiodor said, looking her up and down. From that angle, and despite the horrible outfit, the girl didn’t look too bad.

"Thanks," she replied. Mr. Lison was an idiot.

"How are your vacations?"

"Fine," Libia answered, without taking her eyes off his hypnotizing brown ones.

"I talked to Elena."

"What did she say?" She removed the towel from her hair.

"That she wouldn’t pay a single dollar for your ransom."

Libia let out a sigh.

"I saw that coming."

"And now, what am I going to do with you?" he asked, still staring at the young woman.

The girl shrugged. During that time, Lison had shown her that he didn’t want to hurt her, but the question remained in her mind: what did he want from her?

"Sir," she said, gathering courage, "what do you need me for?"

"I have some unfinished business with Elena, that’s why I summoned her to São Paulo," he replied, without any emotion.

"I’m sorry," she apologized again for making him believe she was his niece.

"Don’t remind me," he said, giving her a cold look.

"Well, I’ll just warn you that whatever you have with my aunt, I doubt you’ll be able to resolve it with me. As you’ve noticed, she doesn’t give a damn about me."

"I figured as much, brat," he said.

The young woman frowned; she didn’t like being called that.

"So, what are you going to do with me?"

"I’ll think about it."

Lison got up from his spot and left the room. Libia lay down on the bed, recalling the hostile look that man always had, but instead of finding it unpleasant, she found it sexy. Once again, that stupid attraction to bad men.

The young woman shook her head, trying to dismiss those crazy thoughts.

The next day, Tiodor presented himself in front of her again.

"Little girl."

"Hey, I don’t like being called that," she dared to say, "I don’t know if you know this, but I’m twenty-three years old, I’m not a ‘brat.’"

"You’re an immature brat, that’s what you are."

Libia pouted and got up from the bed.

"That’s not true," she objected.

"What mature person gets into these kinds of problems?" He spread his hands, mocking her.

The girl crossed her arms.

"I just wanted to take care of my business," she said, raising her voice.

"I don’t give a damn; you ruined my plans," he reminded her.

"So, your idea was to kidnap my aunt and kill her? You know that’s illegal!"

"Lower your voice," Lison growled. What right did this idiot have to raise her voice at him? Giving her a bit of slack had made her get out of control.

"Stop calling me ‘little girl’ or ‘brat,’" she demanded, wrinkling her nose.

"I’ll call you whatever I want," Lison said, stepping closer to Libia.

"I’m an adult," she asserted.

"Then prove it," Tiodor challenged.

"I don’t have to explain anything to you."

"Oh, please, you’d be thrilled to show me more than a few things," he said with a double meaning, licking his lips and imagining what it would be like to be inside that insolent girl.

Musso made a disgusted face.

"Do you think I don’t know your type? Of course, I know what you’re trying to do. You come every week with your chest puffed out, trying to get something else out of me."

Tiodor burst out laughing.

"You’re not as stupid as I thought." He removed his tie.

"I’m glad you realize that," she said, quite offended.

"And what are you going to do about it? Do you think I haven’t noticed your lustful gaze on me?"

"That’s not true," she complained.

"You’re a slut, Libia," Lison spat, "aren’t I old enough for you? Is that it?"

"Go to hell!" she exclaimed, clenching her fists.

"You’d better watch your mouth..." he said in a threatening tone.

"I’d rather die than keep listening to you." Tears fought to escape from her brown eyes, but she didn’t want to look pathetic.

"I’m older than you; I’ve dealt with hundreds of girls like you."

"I don’t want to see you," she said, her eyes brimming with tears.

Tiodor approached her and caressed her cheek.

"Let’s cut the crap, take off your panties," he ordered.

The girl thought about it; all those weeks fantasizing about her captor, she really was depraved, but here she was, hundreds of miles from home, with this damned Brazilian man. The girl swallowed hard, something inside her longed to be touched by that man.

"Stop playing coy." He unbuckled his pants and pulled down the zipper. He wasn’t one to beat around the bush, especially not when it came to women.

It was obvious that the little girl wanted it; she was begging to be fucked.

"This is the only chance I’ll give you. If you don’t take it, later you’ll have to beg, and I doubt you’ll convince me."

Libia licked her lips. Having sex with her captor was the stupidest thing she could do, but her life was full of bad decisions, so she pulled down her cotton shorts, followed by her panties.

Lison smirked. His pupils dilated as he gazed at the girl’s naked body. It was clear they both wanted it, so he shed his clothes and unleashed all his lust on her.

Libia sat on her sofa, her face pale, hands trembling, and mouth dry, panic consuming her more and more. She was convinced she was going to die—or worse, be murdered in some horrible way."This has to be some cruel joke," she whispered, hugging herself tightly.Esteban shook his head. "*Even in the grave, that woman won’t leave Libia alone!*" he thought bitterly."We’ll find a solution," Natalia assured her."No! You two can’t get involved. I don’t want to put you at risk. I’ll tell Dorantes—maybe he can help me." A glimmer of hope appeared in her eyes.Julio surely had some connections, something that could get her out of this mess."I’m not sure it’s a good idea to trust that man so much," Esteban commented, staring at the floor. He didn’t like to meddle in other people’s business, but this situation was serious, and he wanted to help Libia."Well, I don’t have many options," Libia replied, looking disheartened at her friends.Natalia approached and gave her a tight hug, trying to c

"Here are the pills,” Natalia announced, holding a glass of water in her right hand.Libia had her head resting on the desk, the weight of a horrible migraine pressing down on her. Without Natalia’s help, she felt she might have already gone mad from all the paperwork.Meanwhile, the situation with Lison had only gotten worse. The man was demanding that the contract he signed with Elena be honored, while Libia was pushing for the opposite, simply because she couldn’t bear to be around him. Perhaps it was immature of her, but being near him made her feel uneasy."I’m going to die of a brain hemorrhage," Libia mumbled, not lifting her head.Natalia sighed. "Everything is going great," she said reassuringly."You’re just saying that to make me feel better.""No, I mean it. Soon, you’ll have more experience, and things will get easier."Libia straightened up in her seat. "Thank you. This is really hard for me, but in the end, it’s what my dad would’ve wanted.""Yes." Natalia offered her a

**Five weeks later.**Libia had convinced herself that she had found some peace. Although her mind occasionally wandered to thoughts of Lison, her self-control was supposedly improving. Despite the urge to call him and take back what she had said, she resisted.Therapy, however, wasn’t working. Worst of all, she had isolated herself once again, and being far from her friends and acquaintances didn’t help. Some days, she barely ate, while others she indulged in junk food binges. That day, she was watching television when her phone started ringing. Libia pretended not to hear it—she wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone.“Why so much insistence?” she thought irritably as the calls wouldn’t stop, seemingly from different numbers. Rolling her eyes, she reluctantly went over to her phone. Noticing that Natalia had also tried calling, she returned the call. Her friend answered after the first ring."Libia," Natalia said, her voice hurried."Yes? What’s going on? I was... busy," she lied."I’

“Natalia Rodríguez,” she responded, irritated.Lison narrowed his eyes suspiciously, but it only took him a couple of seconds to return to his stoic expression."I don’t know who you are, but I’m warning you—stay out of my business," he threatened, his face so serious that it sent a chill down Natalia’s spine.Natalia wanted to scream, to make a scene, but it was as if her body had frozen in place.Meanwhile, Tiodor continued on his way. Anyone who knew him even slightly could sense the murderous aura surrounding him.Natalia eventually recovered, returned to her small cubicle, and packed all her things into a cardboard box. She didn’t want to be there anymore. Knowing Libia, the first thing she’d do after returning from her therapist would be to leave, to get as far away as possible.---**Three days later**Libia left Mrs. Helen’s mental health retreat with a scowl, wearing oversized sunglasses and clothes so baggy they could have belonged to a rapper. Her hair was a tangled mess, t

Libia blinked several times, thinking her friend had to be joking."What are you talking about?" she asked with a laugh."I saw them leave your aunt's office. I asked Patricia, and it turns out the Brazilian is a regular Don Juan," Natalia said sarcastically. "He's been sending her flowers and chocolates. There are men who are interested, and then there's that guy.""He didn’t tell me he was back," Libia said, trying to find a lie in Natalia’s words."Libia, I *saw* him. It wasn’t an illusion.""My aunt receives gifts from lots of people. It doesn’t have to be from him."Natalia sighed, feeling like she was talking to a wall."You know what? Forget it," she said indignantly, ending the call.Libia stared at her phone, stunned. What she had with Tiodor wasn’t formal, but still, there were basic rules—like not getting involved with your lover’s aunt. Natalia had no reason to lie. After snapping out of her shock, she tried calling Lison. One, two, three, seven calls—no answer. With tear-

A couple of days later, Libia stared at her phone screen, reading Lison's message over and over again:"I'm doing everything I can to come back this week."It wasn’t the most romantic message someone had ever written to her, but at least it showed that he wanted to see her again. On the other hand, Elena Musso hadn’t stopped bombarding her with threatening calls and messages:“Don’t think you’re going to get away with this. Tell your lover he’d better be ready because I’m going to have him arrested.”Libia shook her head. She didn’t want any more fights, so as long as she stayed away from her aunt, everything would be fine. That afternoon, she received a visit from Natalia, who seemed quite uneasy. Without realizing it, Libia had been going through periods of isolation. According to her therapist, this was normal for people who had been through the trauma of being deprived of their freedom. Still, Rodríguez didn’t want to wait for her friend’s state to worsen.“Hey, sorry for not tell
