LOGINShe opened her eyes to the worried eyes of her mother and sister. Not just them, kneeling a bit too close to her, was Draven. Her ex husband. Her ex mate. The man who hurt her, who killed her babies and cheated on her. But as he leaned closer, she could see softness in his eyes. The softness he used to have for her in the past. “Why did you do it? I told you not to do it.” His hands cupped her chin. “You should have listened to me.”She moved back a bit. She wanted to spit at him. To tell him she was sick of listening to him. To tell him he was a monster, and she hated that she loved him. That now, as he stared at her with his olive green eyes, she could only wish they could fix it and be together. She wished he wasn’t so terrible. “Cat,” Blair squeezed her hands. There was nothing but pain but in her eyes. “What are they going to do to you?” she cried. “I’ll be fine, Blair.” She said. “That’s enough!” Veronica waked down the stage to where they were. Flared nostrils and all.
She did not give them time to think. “SCRATCH THAT!” She said again, this time loud and slow. “I Cat Bamford, Eldest daughter of the second strongest wolf bloodline in Vancouley hills, daughter of the Beta, and the great grant daughter of the fighters for our pack’s freedom. I hereby denounce Draven Vancouley as my mate and I demand divorce.”“You fool!” she heard her father’s voice followed by her mother’s sobs. But she wasn’t done. She plunged out her claws, whispered a short sorry to herself, then split the skin where her mate mark sat on her neck, cutting the mark in half. At the same time, she chanted, “Let the mate bond be broken, let Draven and Cat be broken from each other forever. On the grounds on infidelity and betrayal.” Murmurs, screams, boos, curses everything filled the hall. It was so noisy, but she could clearly differentiate her mother’s cries and her father’s yells. The noise become the least of her problems when a sharp pain attacks her neck. Then her heart.
The night was cold and dark. As she stepped out of the building, she kept looking back, hoping, maybe Draven would follow her. She didn’t want to believe their marriage was nothing. She didn’t want to believe their mate bond meant nothing. She didn’t want to believe he didn’t love. She didn’t want to believe he would harm her. Ever. But that was reality. She booked a ride back to her parent’s house. The door opened on her third knock. “Luna,” the maid bowed then let her in. “Cat?” her mother’s voiced echoed through the halls when she saw her. She didn’t want this attention. Not tonight at least. But she had no where else to go. “What is this? What is going on here? What are you doing here?” Her father, The almighty George Bamford fired at her. “Cat, what’s wrong, were you crying?” Her mother said as she inched closer. “What happened?” she questioned further. “Don’t tell me you lost another child!” her father fired. She hadn’t told her family about the current pregnancy. An
“Draven?” Her voice shook. Loud, desperate, broken. Both Draven and Alice stared at her. Blank, no emotion. As if she was the intruder. A if she hadn’t just walked in on her husband fucking her friend. “Cat,” Draven pulled his pants up, walking towards her. Her placed his arm on her shoulder. But she moved back instantly. “DON’T TOUCH ME!” She yelled. “Draven explain what is going on here,” her eyes were blood shot red, her fingers were trembling. She knew exactly what was going on. Fuck she saw it in 3D. But she hoped deep down, that there was an explanation. Anything, she would take anything. “Cat.” He called her so softly, she held her breath for a second. He’d explain. He’d apologize. They would get through this. She assured herself. But the little bit of guilt that was once all over his face was now washed and replaced with nothing but a dirty, wicked smile. “What did you expect, Cat? You can’t keep my heir in your womb. I was patient enough.” That was it, the broken hea
Cat stared at the blood dripping down her ankles. Her sobs increased with every flow.“No, no,” her body shook, she pressed her palms to her mouth, just so she wouldn’t lose it completely. She didn’t want the maids to hear their Luna crying. But she couldn’t help it. Her baby was gone. Yet again. Gone. Her sixth miscarriage in just two years of marriage. What would happen now? Will Alpha Draven finally get sick of her and get rid of her? Will he be tired of her constant miscarriages and finally find another woman to bear his heir? She didn’t want that. She couldn’t imagine a life without his love and care. Without his warm arms wrapping around her, soothing her, telling her it’s alright like he always does. The more she thought of it, the more she cried. “Pull yourself together Cat.” She took deep breaths, then summoned the courage to pull her stained dress and wash off every bit of blood on her body. Every bit of her baby. Her precious baby. By the time she left the bathroom
