Alex stepped into the venue, the soft hum of music and chatter filling the air. His eyes scanned the hall immediately, searching for Ethan, but he couldn't find him.

Across the room, Marcel was chatting with a few ladies. He noticed Alex and quickly excused himself, walking over with a grin.

"Alex, you're just in time for the best part." Marcel said.

Alex nodded, barely listening. "Where's Ethan?"

Marcel raised a brow, surprised that Alex asked about Ethan before even mentioning his sister. But he didn't dwell on it. "He went to get Lily. They'll be here any moment."

Just then, the MC's voice rang out through the speakers. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to welcome the birthday celebrant! Please give a warm round applause for Miss Lily Ray and her fiance, Mr. Ethan Miller!"

The crowd erupted in cheers and clapping.
