At high school, Ava found it hard for her to enjoy the game, not because of Azrael sitting next to her. But seeing all her peers glancing at the two of them, every so often. It was driving her a bit antsy. She could not wait until the dance started. She hoped it was when all eyes would leave the two of them alone. When the next day came, they had finally found some sleep. They slept until the later hours of the morning when they found themselves in a shower. The next morning came and so did the rays of the sun come through the window of the RV. Neither one of them slept. They had kept enjoying their lovemaking to allow themselves to sleep. Azrael woke up in Ava’s room, seeing that it was a couple minutes before six in the morning. He turned to her and started kissing her ear. After dinner, Ava found herself back in her bedroom with the dagger in her hands. Pondering on how it was possible for her to call for it to be in her hands. She glanced at the hilt, which looked medieval. It had bits of sapphire within the handle. Her eyes wandered towards the blade and saw near the area of the hilt of the steel and saw some ancient writing. Ava had a love of history and saw that the writing was in runes. She could not fathom that a dagger had runes and having the medieval twist. The dagger baffled her. It just did not fit into what information that she had learned of history to believe that the weapon was real. Ava closed her eyes, allowing her hands to hover over the dagger as it sat on her bed. She felt a sense of warmth, power, and protection. Azrael was walking through Riverfront Park with his new partner. He was grumbling to himself; he had wanted to work on the case on his own. But when had started showing up to the police, the chief came up to him and assigned Azrael a partner. Stating that the police should have someone to follow up with. His eyes glanced back towards the detective. Who looked to be in his mid-forties with salt and pepper hair. A man with an old soul behind his gray eyes. It was enough for Azrael to keep his mouth shut but not enough to not complain in his head. Azrael found himself at Ava’s home and found her not being there. Ava had found it difficult when speaking to her husband and the elder detective. But in the end, Ava won the arguments that she had with the two men. She found it tiring when she had to explain that something told her to do something. What she could not understand was Azrael arguing with her. She led the group of men towards the church that she had once known. Ava and her mother had stopped going once the church had decided that Latin was the fad to use during masses. It was not the only reason that Ava had stopped going. It was also the fact that the church and the Bible never added up to be the same. For example, the Bible said to not build images of me.
