Ideally, the night wasn’t supposed to include Arabella almost stabbing Gael with a chip, or Faye laughing so hard that juice spurted out of his nose, or Hudson biting Louis’s finger.

See, initially, it had been a regular night.

Gael had kicked off his shoes at the door, 4:00 PM reading out on his watch. He supposed it was the earliest ever that he had managed to come home, but he rather liked it. It was still light outside, and if he had timed it right, Arabella and Hudson were both home. He loosened his tie, before the pattering of feet clued him into the presence of newcomers.
