Chapter Forty-eight

Catherine's POV:

The door to his study clicked shut and I walked in, stopping when I got to his desk.

"Is there something wrong?"

"Does it look like there is?" He asked, looking up at me. His expression conveyed slight anger and I could tell that he was mad at me.

"Uhm, yes. It does look like there is. You're frowning at me. You only ever do that when you're mad at me."

"I have one question for you and I need you to answer with all honesty."

My heart picked up. No, I wasn't afraid of anything. I was just worried and nervous about his reaction once again. If this had to do with John then I wasn't sure there was anything I could do to make him believe that all I had told him from the onset was the truth.
