CHAPTER 21

Marcus closed his laptop and lit himself another cigarette. He filled his lungs with the sweet poison and his head fell back to look straight up at the ceiling.

He closed his eyes and exhaled the smoke. It helped ease out all of the stress he had bundled up within him.

The alarm of his smart watch started beeping and Marcus grunted. It was almost nine p.m. The evening rush would have died down a little by now.

After Iryna had passed down judgement on them during the previous meeting and reduced the cash supply, he had been forced to take on many projects so as to maximize profits.

He had almost cried when he passed the notice that the workers salary would be increased to as much as fifteen percent.

It was a big loss on his part, because the money was coming from his profit. Maybe in his next life when he was starting a company, he would try as much as possible to be independent instead of surviving off mafias.

He got out of his executive chair and packed up his laptop. He finished and
