Chapter 24

"Oh my God Devon, what happened? Are you okay?"

Laura asked as soon as she entered Devon's room she felt stupid for asking him if he was okay cuz it was obvious that he wasn't. He was laying on the floor, his wheelchair halfway on top of him.

She quickly ran to his side and removed the wheelchair, making him sit up on the floor.

"Hey, sorry, were you trying to get on the chair? Why didn't you call me to help you?"

"This is so embarrassing,"

He responded by covering his face with his hands.

"Please I am gonna touch some part of your legs please tell me if you feel any pain,"

She said kneeling beside him and examining his legs.

"Don't worry about it Laura nothing is broken, I fell on my boot,"

He said, roving her hands from his leg.

"Still, I should check to be sure."

She replied.

"Okay, nurse do your job,"

He said, throwing his hand in the air in surrender.

"Don't you feel anything?"
