I pulled my hood from my large sweater over my head at an attempt to hide my face from the over crowded bar I was about to walk into. I could already hear a bar fight going on and I couldn't help but cringe at the man with a bloodied nose that stumbled out.

Every bone in my body was screaming at me to turn around. Only the lowest, most asshole-ish people came here to drink and smoke until their lungs were brown and their mind hazed. I should know since I was one of them at some point in my life. I'd come here to hide from Jim, knowing he'd never come to such a place that was riddled with his enemies.

I kept my head low as I entered, hoping no one would recognize me. As far as everyone knew, I had left town in a rental hours ago. I wasn't sure how long the lie would last, so I had to be fast.

I took a spot at the bar counter and waited patiently for the bartender to bring me some random drink he suggested.
