"Wh...What are you saying, Caleb?"
Abigail sat back on her bed with shock while her body got frozen for a moment in disbelief.
Her eyes turned bloodshot and tears almost ran down to her cheeks.
Her heart completely shattered at this moment.
She couldn't believe in her ears what she just heard from Caleb. He wanted her to marry the casino's owner in exchange for his home and money. Moreover, he has already accepted the deal! He sold her to an unknown big boss to save his neck. He sold her love, her care, herself to some random person for his own selfishness, and now advised her to accept this marriage. Marry the stranger and support him. How the hell doesn't she feel sad, upset, broken, and betrayed right now.
"Eva, Please…" Caleb knelt in front of her and held her hands.
"Please think about it."
"If you...If you agree to marry him. He will forgive our debt and give me money to open my new business."
"Then what about me?" Her eyes turned sharp as she looked at him with anger. She never thought the person she loved most in this life would do something like this disheartening to her.
Caleb's eyelashes flickered, as silence took place. He knew the thing he was asking from her was cruel.
His silence made Abigail angrier, she stood from her bed and halted his hands from her.
"Tell me, Caleb!"
"Then what about me?"
"What about us?"
"Abi...Please listen…" Caleb tried to speak but the words were cut by her in the middle as rage-filled in her body.
"Forget the shake...give me an answer first!!" She yelled and bent to hold his collars tightly to make him look at her in the eyes.
"Tell me, Caleb! What about our love?" She threw questions while her body almost shook up with anger. Her lips trembled with fury. Her eyes turned blurry because of tears.
"Listen Abi…" He held arms that were still clinching on his collar tightly.
"I think this is the right choice for both of us. If we don't accept their deal. They are going to kill us or could make us homeless and I don't want to face that situation or let my parents face it or suffer from it…" His face turned serious as he looked at her with a serious gaze.
"So, you can sell me for you and your family profit? I'm not your family?" Abigail's hands lose her grips from his collars while tears escaped from her eyes. She felt like she was talking to some stranger. He is not the one she falls for. He is not the one whom she admired from her childhood and dream to become a bride.
Her face had almost lost its color to listen to every single word coming from his mouth which turned out to be not sweet like before but felt poisonous to her.
Caleb never saw her reacting like this before. So, he showed that he couldn't digest her words or questions. But the reality is he didn't have any answer for her in the first place.
"Tell me, Caleb!"
She gritted her teeth, almost feeling frustrated to look at his gutless face. Caleb felt impatient as he tried to speak.
"Abi...It's not like that! You are also my family and see my parents raised you when there is no one beside you...when you are just an Oprah"
Abigail's eyes turned dull to hear this while he added, "They give you food, shelter, education, a good life, and more than that a family which you always wanted…"
Hearing the 'Family' word she could only laugh at herself. The family she got never accepted her for all of these past years.
The family who gave her food to eat, also threw a disgusting look whenever she asked for extra plates.
The family who gave her a roof to sleep in, also counting the days to get her money, then threw her out from their life.
Other than that, the person she finally thought of as family, is the one who sold her for artificial things. He chooses everyone except her!
She doesn't think someone could break her more than this. The feeling she's getting right now or facing right now. The person she believed closed eyes, deceived her, broke her, made her fall apart so she could never get along again.
"They never asked you to pay for that until now! Moreover, about your dad's savings, after I ask them to stop questioning about it. They didn't bring up the money thing again. Can't you see how much they do for you these whole past years?" Caleb's eyes turned serious.
"They never expect anything from you, Abigail...but can't you just do this marriage for them and for me? Can't you help us at least for the last time? Can't you pay for their whole past years bringing up to you!" He moved towards her and held her shoulders just to look at her with a straight gaze.
Abigail felt foolish to hear him. He just wanted her to pay back for his parent's care for the whole of these past years. He wants a price from her.
This bitter feeling made her chuckle painfully the next moment and looked at him with a disgusted glare before counter-attacking him.
"So, you are asking for me to pay by selling myself to your debt collector!"
Caleb felt tight-lipped for a second and again tried to talk back.
"Abi...I just…"
"Enough!"
Before Caleb could say more, Erma came inside the room with her husband angrily and shouted between them.
"Mom!" Caleb's eyes moved to his mom.
Abigail coldly looked at both husband-wife without any feelings.
Erma's eyes glared at Abigail and moved her steps inside her room.
"That's enough son! You don't need to talk to her sweetly anymore!" She arrogantly shouted while her eyes moved from her son to Abigail with fury.
However, Caleb still doesn't want his mom to speak so, he tries to talk back.
"Mom...You don't need to come! I'm trying to explain to her…" He moved to his mom.
"Yes… we saw and heard it...what you talked about!" She raised her brows with anger while Dale also made the same expression and looked at his son with the same frustrated face.
Caleb felt lips tighten at this moment.
"We both heard your soft tone talk with her, Son!" Dale stared at Abigail sharply while adding, "However, she is just too stubborn and can't be dealt with in a soft way!"
Abigail didn't flinch or scared to listen to their arrogant words or see their sharp stares on her at all but all she got turned more hateful towards them.
Her eyes glared at the whole family coldly. While the love she felt a few hours ago now vanished from her heart as soon as Caleb told her about the deal thing.

Abigail struggled against him, but Byron grasped her tightly and caged her between his body. She felt frustrated with herself for being so disarmed by him. Her gloomy expression conveyed her displeasure, and she tried to hold herself so excessively to not hit him at this moment, using her elbows, which could simply kick on his centre chest. However, she knew that her one misstep could cause more umbrage only to herself. Byron never let go of being punched by a woman. Hurting her woman pride, she last time utmost submissively tried to request release."I need to go washroom. Please release me…" She tried her best to sound downy, but the harsh breath exhibited a different story to Byron, who could sense her lost patience at this moment. And he knew that if he still tried to taunt her, she would not stop herself from kicking him with her elbow anymore. She thought he could not see her inner plan, but he could easily. However, will that work? Thinking that, his lips spread to a broad,
The rising sun casts a rosy hue across the morning sky, making the rays seep through the window to brighten the room with a shiny glow and waking up Abigail from her restless sleep. She rubbed her blurry eyes and peered at the open pearly sky from the window. Some way, the calm chill breeze coming through there presented a pleasing sensation to her cosy mind and bare body beneath the duvet. After a brief moment of staring in quietness, she discharged a deep breath in the fresh air and lastly attempted to move from her position, whereas her muscle-joint pain and lower back pain screwed her ultimately. 'Uhm' Her lips pressed together as she stopped moving and tried to adjust her muscles first. She unhurriedly tried to stretch her arms; however, she failed thoroughly to realise Byron's strong arms were faster, reaching to wrap around her slim waist firmly. And now his bare muscular body pressing against her stripped back. Sending an electrifying feeling all over her body. His sudden
Her breath hitched when she sensed what his lips, hands and words were doing with her. Even though she's not in love with this man, she can't deny her body reacts so well around him, against her heart's will. And right now, no different. This thought gave her a goosebump momentarily before she gulped her saliva and tried to move from his lap. However, his grip tightened around her, making it almost impossible for her to move even an inch."M-Mr Byron, Can you leave me?" She awkwardly requested."What if I'm not?" His lips trailed to her neck as he whispered.Abigail's cheeks burned to feel his hot breath around her neck. "You can't leave anywhere without my permission." He further asserted, without waiting for her response, as his one arm moved to her things, and the next moment, he started sliding her dress slowly up.His slow-burning touch sent a shiver on her thighs. She shut her eyes, sensing his rough finger touch, eventually tightening her hands' grip around her middle dress.
Abigail walked out from the kitchen and found Byron still in his spot with shutting eyes. After knowing about his mother, she first wanted to check on him but then considered it was not her position to meddle so broadly in his life. Therefore, she changed her way and returned to her room silently without disturbing him. Once she shut the bedroom door, she took a faint breath."I never assumed. My recipe could fit so much with his mother's one. He basically discovered it in his few spoons. It made me a little stunned." "He recognised so rightly, like he tasted this just a few days ago and not a long time enough to forget those tastes." 'She was my mom' She shook her head as she remembered his mixed emotions at that moment."I guess he is not that much of a cold person." "As he is the same as me regarding our parent's unfortunate faiths." "What a cruel thing; we both were luckless to be left out alone to face a harsh world's reality. I can see he faced so much to be turned this cru
He enjoyed her boldness and somehow found her to be his wife; she should maintain this aura.Yet, he can't let her win, so he decides to break her strong bubble with the following sentence, "Oh, dear. You believed in justice. Still, you got married to someone who does illegal things beneath white fortes...To take your revenge? You should go to cops, not to mafia, once you were freed." "So, as per my wife, aren't you half of the criminal as well, just like me?"Abigail's eyelashes tremble as her hands squeeze over her dress edges like a wrong child. He said the truth, and this made her zipped out her lips."I guess we need to end this conversation, or else my meal will get cold." Saying this, he diverted her mind and opened the lid to look down at the pot to
While entering the house, Byron locked the door behind his back. He first made his way to the bedroom, but curiosity stung him to find out what Abigail was doing there; without moving to his room, his footsteps automatically turned to take him to the kitchen entrance, where he soon could smell a homely cooked meal aroma, almost reminding him of his past beautiful childhood days when his mother cooked meal for him and his family. How long has it been since he smelled something this familiar, just like his mother's meal? He deeply thought inside his mind and made his way, stopping just in the corner of the kitchen door without letting her a sense of his presence there. When he looked inside the kitchen, the first thing his eyes landed on was busy Abigail's back. She was in an apron and moving around the sink area to wash a
