Several days later.....

She was sitting at the edge of the extensive wall of the window, looking at the lush green gardens of the palace. The mansion which once felt like a home, now felt like a prison to her. Many a times she had wanted to jump off from this window, and put an end to all her worries but something inside her always made her stop.

She slightly moved her legs, hanging loose in the air. “Should I jump or not?” A feeble voice erupted from her throat as she looked at the lush green gardens below. These were the famous gardens of the royal palace, full of colourful tulips.

Her long golden hair were falling on her face, while her ill fitted black dress, was covering her pale legs. Eva had always been the simplest royalty ever in history of Denver City. She never had any sort of attachment to fine pearls, diamonds or rubies that she had inherited from her birth mother. She had always been more intrigued by the fantastic royal library and everything to do with books.

Her long eye lashes, pale skin and sharp features were effortlessly gorgeous. She was perhaps, unaware of her own beauty and never made an effort to dress up in royal silhouettes unlike her step mother.

Diana was declared the head of the royal family, while Eva was made to live the life of a pauper. She was not allowed to go out of the palace and had no means of communication with anybody. While her father was alive, he got her engaged to Rick, the man she had loved since childhood, but suddenly Rick too had broken up with her.

Eva had nobody but her step mother to blame for her broken engagement. “He loves me a lot. It must be my step mother who must have filled his ears with bad things about me. One day I will manage to win back your love Rick. I love you so much.” A faint smile appeared on Eva’s face and she looked at a tiny picture in her hand.

Yet again, she looked around at the simple room, minimal furniture and cracked paint of her new room. It had been several months now, but she had still not gotten used to living such a life. She sat down the creaking bed as a tear fell down from her eye. Right in front of her was a gigantic wall photo of her parents.

“I miss you mother and father. I wish you both could come back and save me from this misery.” She sniffed loudly and wiped away her tears taking deep breaths. Her only hope and love was now Rick. “I wonder if you miss me as much as I do Rick. I wonder if you are also dying to come to me or talk to me.” She sighed and lied down flat on the hard mattress, looking blankly at the moist ceiling.

Meanwhile..

.

In the other part of city, a crowded club with flashing lights and ear piercing music was the most happening place for youngsters. Luxury cars, branded clothing and costly liquor made the place the most interesting place to hangout for the cream crowd of the city. The gigantic and luxurious glass bar had every costly liquor which existed on this planet and a young man of about 25 years of age was kneeling with it, sipping his fifth vodka. His blonde hair were neatly combed backwards, while his extravagant clothing shouted GUCCI from all angles. His eyes were laid upon a blonde girl dancing vigorously to the tunes of the band.

“Damn this girl is hot.” He turned to look at his childhood friend who was busy kissing a beautiful brunette right in front of the bar.  Rick rolled his eyes looking at his friend Troy, engrossed sucking the lips of the brunette girl. “Come on man! We have just entered the place and you have already started kissing the girl. What about spending boys time together?”

The dark haired man, dressed in a luxury navy blue suit halted kissing the girl and turned to look at Rick. “Ever heard of the word starters. I have just started to have fun dude! The main course will be relished after a while.” He smirked looking at Rick as he walked closer to him. His perfect jaw- line, sharp features and dark eyes made him look like a Hollywood actor. But, he was nothing more than a Casanova, gifted with immense wealth and all the freedom in the world.

Rick rolled his cat eyes at him and pulled him towards himself, by his arm. “Check out that hot blonde over there.”

They both rested there backs to the bar counter and smirked looking at the blonde girl, dressed in a tight fitted black attire, showing off her curvy figure. She had a bottle of beer in her one hand, while her other hand was moving up and down rapidly dancing to the fast beats of the music.

“Wait! Is not she Claira Lockwood? The side girl in that new movie we saw last weekend.” Troy frowned looking at the girl’s face carefully.

“Oh yeah man! You are right. So, who is going you or me?” Rick smirked turning to look at Troy.

“You... are not going. You were all over the tabloids for your broken engagement. At least act a little heartbroken.” Troy nodded his head in disapproval and gave Rick a mischievous grin.

“Hah!” Rick chuckled, gulping down a shot of vodka from the tiny glass in his hand. “Eva was a bore. And don’t forget you were the one who advised me to break up my engagement after you introduced me to that hot babe Helen.” Rick smirked as he looked at Troy’s mischievous face.

“You should be thankful to me. If I had not shown you the right path you would have been married to a boring girl like her and would have lead a boring life of a king.” Troy patted Rick’s shoulder and pointed at the blonde girl. “You deserve a hot and stylish girl like her. Not a girl like Eva, whose nose is always buried in books. Have you seen her clothes? Does she even look like a princess?” The man nodded his head in disapproval.

“Sigh! That is true. She is a gorgeous woman but too boring. I am a free bird after breaking up with her clingy nature. How the hell was she my girlfriend for so many years?” Rick pointed at the bartender, signalling him to prepare two more shots.

“Exactly! You have wasted so many years of your youth with her. The girl is so naive that I am sure she would not even have let you kiss her.” Troy rolled his eyes, gulping down the vodka shot in one go.

“You are right bro. We have never kissed. I mean we have, but those are not real kisses. Those are slight pecks on cheek or hands.” Rick too gulped down the stinging liquid, frowning hard.

“You know what. I feel so sorry for you that I give you the first chance to approach the blondie. Your life has sucked so bad, consider it as a gift from my side. She is already checking us out.”  Troy grinned seductively looking at the blonde girl, who was now looking at the two handsome men  standing near the bar.

“You are a true friend. See you.” Rick fixed his jacket’s collar and walked charmingly towards the dance floor, straight towards the target.

Troy smirked and turned to look at the bartender. “One more vodka please. Make it strong.”

“Sure boss.” The bartender looked at the owner of the club and quickly started to pour the transparent liquid in a tiny glass. “If may I ask you boss. What kind of girl do you want?”

“Hah! Steve. You seem to be in a different mood today. Well, I don’t know what kind of girl I want but all I know is what kind of girl I do not want. I do not want a girl like Rick’s ex fiancé who was too dull and boring. I can never ever think of marrying a girl like her in my dreams.” Troy gulped down the shot and nodded his head in disapproval, taking a pinch of lemon juice on his tongue.
