Chapter 17: Envy

Zehra shifted her weight as her eyes began to flutter open for daily prayer to the Moon Goddess. She rubbed her eyes, sighing softly, and felt so sleepy right now, and maybe she could sleep more until Ember came to wake her up.

It was not a childish act, but she was sleepy, and Ember would definitely come to wake her, so in a way, it was a really logical idea to get more sleep.

Pulling the blanket over her, Zehra turned to her right and closed her eyes before freezing.

"Someone was breathing! Someone was next to me!" She panicked.

She almost had a heart attack when she opened her eyes before screaming loudly.

"Goddess! What kind of dream is this?"

"This is not a dream. Now stop screaming and go to sleep," Cade, who woke up by a screaming coming from Zehra, said. He didn't like the ringing in his ears.

"No! This is wrong! You have wife and -"

Cade shut her up by pulling her to his chest. Zehra wanted to push him away because it felt so wrong, and yet, and yet, it seemed so right.
