Confrontation

Luciano's POV

I frantically tapped the railings on the balcony as I scanned through the spectators that had gathered in front of the palace to watch Freya suffer.

On seeing her, a slight smirk curved the corner of my lips.

She was a bloody mess and looked rather helpless lying on the floor as the guards destroyed her skin.

Rather than the satisfaction I had initially thought I would derive from watching the omega weep as she got whipped, a weird feeling stirred up within me.

It was almost like I felt guilty.

As soon as the thought crept into my mind, I shook my head as if to rebuke it.

Guilt? What the hell was that?

I never felt guilt for putting criminals to their places.

Never. It just wasn't possible.

Also, it wasn't as if Freya didn't deserve what was happening to her.

She deserved it all for failing to assist with the investigation and lying instead that she had mysteriously lost her memory.
