Daciana’s P.O.V
Mother and I returned to my bedroom after the elders passed their judgment. She was fuming with rage, but never said a word.We got inside the room and she began packing my clothes into a bag without looking at me.“What are you doing?” I asked her. She didn’t answer.“Mother,” I called, but again, she didn’t answer.“Stop ignoring me Mother. What are you doing?” I demanded. She sighed, wiping a tear drop from her eyes. “The Elders just passed their judgment declaring the heir of the pack a rogue. If word of this gets out to the villagers, that you killed your father – they’ll burn you alive.”She zipped up the bag and tossed it at me. “You need to leave. Now!”“I didn't do it,” I mumbled. “I didn't kill Father,” I said with a cracked voice. My mother came closer and hugged me. “No one knows how much you loved your father like I do. I would never believe you killed him.” She spoke lovingly.Amelia walked into the room and found us locked in an embrace. She quickly joined in, without asking any questions. There was a knock on the door. Amelia was about rushing out to get it, but mother held her back.“You need to get out of here. That's probably Caleb coming to take you out to the villagers with the guards.” Mother informed me.“But we're trapped here,” I stated. She opened up the window close to the tree and pointed to a lonely track beyond the village. “Run towards that path, and don't look back. No matter what happens Ciana, don't come back for us, until you've found a safe place to stay.”I nodded my head and hugged her and Amelia once more. Caleb continued to bang on the door, threatening to break it down if we didn't let him in.“Amelia, be strong for mother okay? I promise to come get you.” I whispered to my little sister who had begun to cry once she realized that I wouldn't be with her anymore."Daciana, wait. Before you go," Mother brought out a pendant concealed in her hands and wore it around my neck."To bring you good luck," she said and kissed me goodbye.I climbed through the window just before Caleb and the guards got through the door.I heard him yelling at my mother, but I didn't have time to stay and find out. I would be of no use to them if I remained in the pack to end up killed, so just like my mother requested, I ran as fast as I could down that lonely path till all was left was a silhouette of a place I once called home.As I wandered further into the woods, I heard the familiar whistling once more. I stopped to look around me, I was being followed, and surely I would be attacked soon, so I dashed through the woods as the moon rose slowly above me.I wasn't able to shake the rogues off my trail. Their hurried footsteps echoing throughout the thick forest, and their hungry growls sending jolts of fear down my spine.I arrived at the edge of a cliff; it is a long way down and I was not ready to take the risk of jumping from a cliff in order to save my life. For a few moments I was all alone. It was enough time to decide on what I would do next, but my brain couldn't come up with any ideas and soon, the rogues finally picked up my scent and surrounded me at the cliff. They were all fully transformed in their wolf forms, and I know I stand no chance against them while still a human.“What do you guys want from me?” I questioned. There was a loud haul from behind them. Like they had received a command, the rogues all stepped back and a man whose face was covered with a scarf came forward.“After all these years, you still think you’re some hot shot, don’t you?” he asked. His voice echoing in the woods. It was a full moon tonight, yet somehow, everywhere seemed to be darker than before. The unusual darkness wasn't the only thing I noticed, I felt my bones cracking in places they had never before and it hurt.“What do you want from me?” I yelled in pain.My assaulter was at this moment aware that I was about to shift, and he smiled.“Looks like this is your first time shifting into your wolf form. I wonder what sort of werewolf you’ll be,” he smirked. The rogues behind him walked circles around me, anticipating his order and getting ready to strike me down if the need be.I fell face down to the ground, yelling in agony from the excoriating pain of my bones breaking and re adjusting in different angles. My clothes appear too small for my body and ripped apart as my wolf struggles to be unleashed. My hands were replaced with claws, and so were my feet. My eyes felt different and my vision, more advanced than when I was a human.“Make it stop!” I screamed.I could hear voices, the sounds of the forest, the footsteps of animals all over two miles away from me.Soon, I found myself standing on four feet. The pain of my bones breaking was gone and the injuries I had gotten from branches and trees were completely healed. I felt like a monster and yet an angel at the same time. The power surging through my body now covered by furs, white furs. It was an ecstatic feeling.“A white wolf!” the man declared, surprised by my transformation. “She's a frost demon!”He quickly shifted into his wolf form, his body having a dusty brown color and his claws by far longer and thicker than mine.“Let’s end this quickly,” he scuffed. With a loud haul, he signaled for the rest of the rogues to attack. Two of them jumped on me from behind, but I was quicker than usual and swiftly avoided their claws from laying a scratch on my body.I grabbed one of them by the tail and flung him around in the air before tossing him down the cliff.Another jumped on me from a tree and struck me across the face. I fell to the ground but quickly stood back on my feet. The rogues only seemed to increase in number and being my first time of shifting, I was unsure of how long I could keep up in my body.Realizing how much his men had failed in containing me, the scarfed man faced me, a smile lingering on his awfully damaged wolf’s face. He must have been in a lot of fights from the scars and marks I see on his face. Compared to him, I was practically a novice, even with my father’s difficult training.“You should have let us kill you with your father,” he barked aggressively. My body began to grow weak with every passing second, and when he sensed this, he jumped at me and sent me down on my sides.I stood back to my feet, refusing to give in and accept defeat so easily but I was no match for him. He landed multiple hits on my body and grabbed me by the neck with his teeth. He flung me across the woods and I fell on a tree, returning to my human form, naked and weak.“Please… let me go,” I pleaded as I lay helpless on the ground. My hearing remained the same after I had shifted and I could hear footsteps rapidly approaching our fight scene.Three wolves jumped out from the woods and their scent differed from the rest of the rogues, especially the one in the middle. His furs were thick and black and unlike any normal wolf, there was no trace of blood lust in his eyes.He jumped on the man standing above me and threw him across the floor, sending him straight into the stomp of a fallen tree. The other two, both grey, focused their attention on the rest of the rogues and they soon overpowered them, pushing a few of them off the cliff and ruthlessly killing others by tearing them into pieces with their teeth and claws. The black wolf shifted back into his human form. To my surprise, he was still clothed and stood victorious against the leader of the rogues. He said something to the man on the floor as he shifted back to his human form, but I couldn’t make out what it was.He walked back to me, his smile broad and beautiful. His eyes seemed to shine under the moonlight and he had a very buff body. He extended an arm out to me, but I couldn't even reach it.I force myself up to my feet. My head is spinning and my eyes are turning in circles.“Are you okay? I don’t think you should stand on your own after such a fight. You look like you’re about to faint,” he said, his voice deep and commanding.I chuckled. “Hi, I’m Daciana.”And with that, my eyes closed and my brain stopped responding as I fell to the ground unconscious.Milton’s P.O.V She slept silently like an angel. Peaceful and beautiful as she regained her strength from the toil of last night. I stared at her, unsure of what to do while she slept on my bed, and with no idea of what to do when she finally woke from her slumber. The scent of her body was different from that of the rogues that attacked her. She seemed like someone who had been cast out of her home and for that reason alone, Robert; my beta was against bringing her into our pack as that would make the rest of the villagers feel unsafe until they were certain she could be trusted. She wasn't mated. I could sense it, and maybe that could explain why I felt drawn to her. She was lucky that I had gone hunting last night, otherwise she would have been dead.“Why are you staring at me?” The voice I heard awoke me from my thoughts as I stared at the lady before me. She was awake and I had not noticed it until she had spoken up. I was uncertain of how long she must have been awake but one
Milton's P.O.VAccompanied by Richard and Adam, I walked back to my office thinking about where she could have gone. She had disappeared from the pack, and this I was certain of when the guards I ordered to find her returned with downcast looks on their faces.“What do we do now?” Robert asked. “If she's out there in the woods, we have to find her.”“I thought you were against keeping her in the pack?” I asked him. “Shouldn't you be happy she's gone?”Robert was a complicated and indecisive man. He had this habit of developing a sudden change of heart towards situations without a reason. In this case, the hatred he had for this lady - Daciana, was still visible in his eyes, but for reasons best known to him, he believed now it was better to have her close enough and keep an eye on her.I waited for Robert to think of an excuse for his decision as always and seconds later, he began.“She could be a spy. Maybe even an assassin.” He accused her.My eyes closed faintly as my lips spread wi
Daciana's P.O.VIt was my third day in the dungeon and I hadn't been allowed the warmth of sunshine. I was locked up in a cold dark room with nothing but a candle light to keep the monsters at bay, and the company of rodents to keep me sane.Everyday, for the past three days, a guard would occasionally walk down to the dungeons to ascertain that I was still bound by my chains. After he left an elderly woman would come down with a tray of food to satisfy my hunger. Her name was Elena. She was short and had hips that could barely ease her passing through the door. I was never able to get a good look at her face due to the dungeons' poor lighting, so all I knew about her was that she was a mother of two strong boys whom she said were the Alpha's most trusted guards. Each day she came down, I would ask her what the Alpha wished to do with me, and why he hadn't come down to question me like.he said he would, and each day I asked her, she would say. “Milton will come.”Today, I had no reason
Daciana's P.O.VNova. That is the name I gave my wolf after a long moment of debating with her on what name would suit her just right.I had suggested she answer a part of my name; Ciana, but she vehemently refused. According to her, the name was unattractive and unfit for a rare white werewolf such as herself.I am finally able to speak to her without voicing my words out loud and making myself appear psychopathic before those around me."Why hasn't he come to see you?" Asked Nova. She is dismayed by the fact that I and Milton have not spoken to each other since we returned to his pack two nights ago."How should I know? He is probably busy with some other women," my voice comes off filled with jealousy and I failed to realise that I have spoken out aloud."Is that how little you think of me?"I turn my gaze to the door on hearing a voice that does not go up and down. Milton is standing there, and his ocean blue eyes linger on me for a moment."How long have you been standing there?"
Milton’s P.O.V“She doesn’t deserve to be here for another day,” Robert barks. He has not come to terms with Daciana living under the same roof with me, for some reason he hates her. It is not strange as Robert has always been a hard man to get to.Adam has not said a word since they stepped into my office. He has a strange attitude whenever we are around Daciana and seldom makes contributions when we are discussing about her. He is the one who always offers sensible solutions and never truly loves a fight. On the day we rescued Daciana from the rogues, he had insisted that we simply walk up to them and question them on why they were attacking a young lady on my pack premises. It felt reasonable but Robert couldn’t wait as he jumped in to attack them. Now, he so badly wants to get rid of the person he put his life on the line to save.Adam opens the door to the wine cellar in my office and returns with a sparkling red wine. He sets cups before I and Robert and pours us both a drink be
The cold wind blows in the hallway that leads to the meeting room of the elders. Photos of Alpha's who have ruled over the Moon Valley pack are hung on the walls.Milton walks slowly, taking his time to enjoy the whistling wind and intentionally keeping the elders waiting. This would be the very first time he attends a meeting with the Packs elders without Robert by his side. With no knowledge of his whereabouts, Milton hopes that the elders do not question him about the absence of his Beta.As he arrives at the door, Milton hears the muffled voice of the Elders bickering within the ancient door of the council room.He takes a deep breath before pushing the door open."You summoned me," announces Milton. The attention of the five elders are drawn to him with no hesitation.Usually, they would stand to their feet as a show of respect to their Alpha, but today; they didn't.Henry, the Elders leader, finally stands to his feet after Milton is seated. His frown is one which Milton expect
The whistling sound of birds and wind crashing against the tree branches violently wakes Daciana from her slumber. Her eyes are still battling to adapt to the brightness of the world around her, as the bedroom had been slightly darker than wherever she stands. Her memory still feels foggy and she can't clearly recall what happened, or how she ended up unconscious once more. After what seemed like forever, her sight becomes clear, the world around is more visible and she recognizes the smell of the woods. She looks around, hoping to find someone there. There is nobody with her, but she still senses someone's presence. She tries to make a move, her hands are stuck and her body tied up to the tree which her back lies on.Daciana thinks of shifting, but she can't. She's tightly chained. Forcing herself to shift in such a state would only bring harm to Nova.Where the hell am I? she thinks to herself.Nova can't hear her thoughts unless she allowed her access to her subconscious mind.Daci
"Robert!"Milton's voice thunders across the hallway of the home of his beta. They haven't spoken to each other since he stopped Robert from attacking Daciana in her room.Robert refused to apologize. His beta ego is getting the best of him, as he believes his Alpha is making a stupid mistake.Robert's wife walks out to welcome Milton into the living room.He stands tall on his feet as she approaches with a smile on her face. Her hips swayed from side to side like one preparing to seduce her husband."Milton, what a lovely surprise," she announces."Where is Robert?" Milton demands. He is smart to avoid the little chitchat, which Elizabeth seems determined to get him engaged in as a bid to tame the Alpha's anger."Two years," Elizabeth says softly. "It's been two years since you set foot in our home. And the last time wasn't peaceful either. What did he do this time?"Elizabeth's sorrowful voice does the magic trick and breaks Milton's tough shell. His anger vanishes as he realizes sh
