Kaylee's P.O.V.

I was left alone in the house after Parker had left to respond to his summons from the council. Jack and his mother never returned, so I spent the next couple of hours in a fit of building excited anxiety. I showered, shaved, plucked my eyebrows, put on lotion, and then started to clean. First, it was just our room, then I moved the bathroom, kitchen, living room, and dining room… pretty much every room besides the other bedrooms. When I was done, I had to rinse off again since I had worked up a sweat.

I couldn't stop watching the clock, wondering when he would get home. After several hours, I had given up on using productivity as a distraction and ended up sitting on our bed flipping through the television channels while I waited.

If he wanted me in our bedroom when he got home, I was damn sure going to be sitting on our bed when he walked through that door.
