“You let that slut in, and now look!” Morrigana shrieked, her voice was loud.

“Silverstone gone. The pack, soon to be at Conan's mercy. Everything we've planned for, destroyed because you couldn't control Lycia, a fucked up little thief!”

Every head turned as Morrigana spoke to Alpha Cove in a tone that no one dared to use.

Gasps rippled amongst the maids.

Alpha Cove didn’t flinch. He turned to her with an expression as cold as stone. “You mean the situation you schemed?”

Morrigana froze mid-step, her mouth still parted from the scream.

Cove stepped forward, voice dropping into a low, lethal murmur. “Funny how quickly you backed Alpha Damien when he suggested Lycia as a maid of honor. How suddenly you wanted her close. Too close.”

“I didn’t..”

“Spare me the lies, Morrigana,” he snapped. “You lit the fire and prayed she’d burn in it.”

Her voice cracked, panic seeping through the edges. “I did it for you! She’s using you, Alpha Cove, manipulating you! She’s going to ruin you!

“ I heard you sent the Silverstone pack away, cutting off the alliance.” “You sure this is the right call Alpha?” Lucas asked, voice low. “Silverstone was our strongest ally. If Conan strikes now…” Cove didn’t break pace. “Then we stand on our feet and fight” Lucas fell in, beside him, tone sharpening. “And Lycia?” Cove’s smirk was faint; tired and bitter, but unmoved. “I know she didn’t start anything, Lucas.” A pause. “We just finally started seeing the truth.” He passed him, shadows swallowing his figure, but his voice lingered—sharp and certain. “And the truth…” he murmured, “is a hell of a lot deadlier like Conan.” “The Silverstone pack, I had them sniffed out,” he said coolly. “Had some of our own wolf warriors trail the Silverstones. Digging through their gloss. Turns out they weren’t exactly the saints they claimed to be.” Lucas blinked. “What are you talking about?” “They weren’t after peace or any stupid alliance,” Alpha Cove said. “They were after the Blood

“Darling,” Luna Anya cooed, “why don’t you start packing? We’re leaving this glorified kennel.”Seth blinked. “Leaving? But... the alliance…”Alpha Damien chuckled, shaking his head as he moved toward his son. “Alliance? Oh, come on, son. That wasn’t an alliance. That was a disaster in designer fur. Crimson’s idea of diplomacy is inviting thieves to dinner and calling them mates.”Luna Anya talked sweetly. “Honestly, I’ve had more warmth from a frozen river than from these people. Not even a decent cup of tea. And don’t get me started on the hospitality here.”Seth frowned, his book still open on his lap. “But Alpha Cove—he looked… like he was trying. And the guests…”Luna Anya sighed dramatically. “Yes, yes, let the Alpha sulk in his own rubble. We’ll send our regards. Perhaps,” she added with a glint in her eye, “after Conan’s destruction rains down on them, we’ll be gracious enough to offer aid.”Luna Damien’s brow arched. “Aid... with a few conditions, of course.”Luna Anya smile

“You called us here?” Damien asked with a sneer, crossing his arms tightly like he was there against his will. Alpha Cove stepped forward, his face hard and serious. “I didn’t bring you here to talk. I’ve already made up my mind.” Luna Anya lifted her chin, smirking. “Oh, how lucky we are; another royal decree from His Royal Highness, Alpha Cove.” Alpha Cove’s eyes flashed, cold and sharp. “Call it what you want. I’m just finally cleaning up the mess your so called Alpha had the guts to create.” Damien let out a dry, mocking laugh, his voice soaked in disdain. “Oh, I see now. You dragged us out here... over a girl? A filthy little thief? That’s what this is about?” Alpha Cove’s voice dropped, lethal and firm. “You crossed a line. Both of you. I don’t care what you thought Lycia was. You laid hands on her under my roof like she was nothing. And that makes you nothing to me.” Gasps sliced through the courtyard, tension thickening like fog before a storm. “Nothing to you?

He didn't mean to kiss her.But he did it anyway. And the worst part? He didn’t even regret it.Alpha Cove touched his lips, still tingling with the ghost of her mouth.“What the hell have I done?“Then he saw the blood, a faint smear on his fingers from her wrist, a reminder of the bruises Damien had left.Alpha Cove’s jaw locked in harder.No.No one touched what was his. Not like that. Not with violence. Not with evil intentions in their minds. He wasn’t a kind man. He had already made peace with that. But this—what Damien had done to Lycia under his roof—was a betrayal Alpha Cove would never forgive.“If anyone touches her again,” Alpha Cove whispered to the shadows, his voice a dark oath, “I will rip their spine from their body and feed it to the ravens. And Damien…” His fists trembled. “He won’t get a trial. Not from me. I'll make sure he regrets this.”He inhaled sharply, trying to calm the wildfire building in his chest.……….“I should’ve pushed him away,” Lycia muttered.Fing

“I’ll be right back,” Alpha Cove muttered hoarsely. Before Lycia could form a reply, he disappeared through a side door, leaving behind only the sound of her ragged breathing and the ache curling in her bones. Her wrists throbbed. Every inhale tugged at the bruises Damien had left, each one a fingerprint of shame. The memory of his rough hands, his breath against her skin, made her stomach twist. The door creaked open again. Alpha Cove reappeared, jaw clenched, carrying a damp cloth, a small vial of salve, and, unbelievably, a roll of bandages. Lycia straightened, eyes narrowing. “I don’t need your pity,” she said coldly. He didn’t answer. Instead, he dropped to one knee in front of her, like a storm forced into stillness. He reached for her wrist. She pulled away. “I said I’m fine,” she snapped. “You don’t get to play gentle Alpha now.” His gaze shifted from her bruised wrist to her eyes. It had that dangerous look like fire burning behind iron. “Sit.” “No.” “Lycia,” he

“Put your clothes back on,” he said coollyAlpha Cove’s eyes stayed on the paper, though he hadn’t written a single word in minutes. The ink had dried at the tip of his quill. Across the desk, Luna Anya remained gloriously nude, draped across his chair like temptation incarnate. His voice, when it finally came again, it was sharp ice.“You’re a Luna, Anya. A married werewoman with an Alpha husband. And yet you come to my office thinking of someone else other than Alpha Damien in between your thighs?.”Luna Anya blinked, caught off guard by the words from Alpha Cove’s mouth, and the shift in his tone.Cove stood, pushing the chair back. His gaze was no longer distracted—it was cutting.“Your infidelity disgusts me. You think being wrapped in silk and seduction excuses being a slut?”Her face twisted. “Excuse me?”“Yes, you heard me right,” Cove growled. “If you want to offer yourself like a whore, that’s your business. But not in my office. Not while pretending your union with Alpha Da

“She isn’t supposed to matter to me." Alpha Cove spoke quietly, just a bit louder than the fire burning behind him“She is just… a thief.”He said it like a mantra, like repeating it might magically rip her from his thoughts. But the truth laughed at him.He didn’t know if he was trying to convince or lie to himself. But neither seemed to work.He leaned back in his chair, his gaze didn’t stick to the paper he was writing on. It drifted, again, to the thought of someone he couldn't shake out of his mind.Lycia.Since her capture, he has always been drawn to her. And the fact she reminded him of Freya his lost lover, made his feelings for her strongerHe hated that he was drawn to her.And then there was Alpha Damien. The man oozed arrogance like cologne; strong, nauseating, and impossible to ignore. His voice still echoed in Cove’s mind like a bad song stuck on repeat: “I want her as my maid of honor while I’m here,”As if she were some party favor. As if she were nothing.Cove’s jaw
