I knew it was a mistake, I was well aware that this mission was going to fail miserably yet I had gone ahead and screwed myself…royally at that.

Silas was more than family to me. He was not only our pack’s gamma’s son but more than that. He was my best friend and a brother to me.

And, Silas would never react like the way he did which was why I knew I was in trouble.

Silas kept marching ahead, ignoring all my attempts to talk to him. His shoulders were tense and his posture was rigid and he was stomping forward, only grunting and looking anywhere but toward me.

“Silas…will you just talk to me?”

I tried again but there was no response.

I gritted my teeth and kept running after him. He increased his pace and I ran towards him and yanked his hand, hard.

“Just what is wrong with you?”

I yelled as I lost my cool.

He had walked straight into the forest and I had no idea where he was heading to. Maybe, he was just wandering around cluelessly.
