Chapter 10: mixed feelings.

Mason.

I stood up immediately as the middle-aged doctor walked out of Kai’s ward. He has a thick frame and round eyeglasses that happen to fit his face so well, “How is he, doctor?” I ask, gazing at every corner of his face for the sincere truth.

“You don't have anything to worry about, Mr Mason. He is doing good at the moment, I would like to keep him for the next 24 hours or more to be sure he doesn't develop acute Stress Disorder or he didn't get water into his lungs. And for further observations, he is currently sleeping. He will come around in two hours,” He said with a sincere smile on his face and I let out a sigh of relief.

“That is all for now, I will see you around in a few hours,” He tapped on my shoulder and walked away.

I rushed into the room immediately, and there Kai was sleeping peacefully. I grabbed a stool from the side and sat close to the bed. I tugged his stray hair out of his face as he pouted, his usual habit. I held his hand into mine.
