Calla’s POV

My whole body became rigid, I found it hard to move because Lucian stood behind me.

“Nobody dares go against me. Don't ever think you're an exception.”

Then someone coughed, Lucian turned to see who it was, and so did I.

A handsome and tall man stood at the door, with his head slightly bowed. His looks looked appealing and godly but he was nowhere close to that of Lucian’s.

“What is it, Marcus?” Lucian asked impatiently.

The man did not say anything, instead, he looked at me with questioning eyes.

“Continue. She means no harm.” Lucian urged him to continue.

Marcus straightened up and reported. “The other packs are still pressing hard on us, they still seek their rights to the uninhabited regions in the south. This led to a heavy brawl between our men and theirs. A lot of our men got injured and some died.” Marcus’s voice became forlorn for a moment, it returned to its former state.
