Thirty Nine

Calla's POV

"What's wrong?" Lucian's voice cut my train of thoughts. I realized I had spaced out too much.

"It's nothing. I just remembered something back at home." At this juncture, my heart began to prick and squeezed at the slightest mention of my home. "Can we go now? I'm already tired and full."

I was holding my overbearing emotions by a thin thread. I wanted to leave this place and go home to where I could release my held-up heart cries.

"I thought we just got here." Marcus pouted his lips in a childish manner.

I felt heat raise to my head, I was close to exploding in anger. I controlled myself and softly uttered.

"Fine. Stay if you want but I'm going home." With that, I stormed out of the restaurant and called the nearest cab back to the pack house.

As I sat in the back seat of the cab, I couldn't help but replay the events of the day in my head. The tension between Lucian and Marcus was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I just had to suggest going out for lunch to try t
