Twenty One

Stephanie’s POV

As I watched Calla cry her heart out, my heart broke for her. I couldn't bear to see her in so much pain. I hugged her tightly, allowing her to release all her pent-up emotions. After a few minutes, she calmed down, and I took her to her room, helping her to lie down on the bed.

"It's okay, Calla," I whispered, stroking her hair gently. "I'm here for you. You're safe now."

She nodded weakly, wiping her tears with the back of her hand. I handed her a tissue, and she blew her nose. I sat next to her on the bed, holding her hand in mine.

"You're not alone, Calla," I said softly. "You have me. And I promise you, everything will be okay. You're a strong woman, and you can get through this."

She looked at me, her eyes red and puffy. "Do you really think so?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I do," I replied, nodding. "You're a survivor, Calla. You've been through so much, and yet you're still standing. You're stronger than you know."
