Controlling Wolves

Phillps POV

“Okay Chris, Luna’s twin sister is about to come out,” I lean to tell him.

“Pay attention boys I want one of you to be her mate, Chris Mitch pay attention,” Rebecca teases.

“Will your father be okay, with a Gamma?” I ask in a whisper.

“No but it’s rude to leave him out he is ranked.” She saids smiling. “I was raised by a snob, I’m not one. Mitch would be great for her. They would have fun.”

Oh her father is looking a scary, cold and vile as ever. If my father hadn’t important business with Alpha Alexzander I would have never agreed to go to that celebration. But damn was I glad I did. She made me work for it, but she is worth it.

There is young Alpha, he is going to be fun. Always down for an adventure. I see our female warriors stand a little straighter. Hate to tell them he’s only 17. Old enough for a fling but nothing more.

I see her hand and raise my brows at Chris. When she exits the car I hear a low growl as the wind hits us in the face. I look over at Chris who has his mouth open, but he didn’t growl, neither did Mitch who also looks like freight train hit him. She looks stunning but Rebecca looks better and they didn’t make these faces. Where did that growl come from?

Rita’s POV

I smell the honeysuckle getting stronger as I climb the steps. I feel the pull to him but George has my arm, keeping me in line with father. I lock eyes with the most handsome man I have ever seen. First of all he is in uniform, that is just hot. Second of all We both are having a hard time catching our Breath.

“Ritaaaa” Rebecca wraps me in a hug.

“Beccs my mate is here,” I whisper.

“Who!” She whispers hopefully.

“Shall we go in?” George offers me arm again.

“I’ll go in with Beccs, we need to catch up,” I say pulling Rebecca to my ear, “is there a warrior burning his eyes into my head? Panting almost.”

She glanced behind me and grinned, “yes there is, and he comes with a little baggage. Let’s go to the small conference room.”

Rebecca whispers to Phillip who nods in understanding.

I swear when he walks in the door I’m jumping him. Rebecca and Phillip can just duck out.

“Ok listen to me, his story is complicated” Rebecca was saying closing the door. “You are his second chance. He has been mated and she died in childbirth 5 years ago.”

“So he has a kid, what’s complicated? I can do step-mom.” I barely holding my wolf back. I didn’t think I’d want a mate but damn I want him.

“Two kids, twins a boy and girl.”

“Still don’t care,” I said. I seriously was like completely wet almost drowning from his scent. His eyes were the most gorgeous green.

“Re listen, he was heartbroken when his mate died. He is a hard cold man like dad. You are getting into a world you don’t want. Plus he is dating someone. We thought they would be chosen mates.”

“Is he coming in here or not?” I was holding the back of a chair trying not to collapse in a puddle of desire.

“Rita, listen to me, he might reject you,” Rebecca said. “He is very cold and the fact that he didn’t run straight to you and claim you says a lot”

“You really think he might reject me?”

“It’s possible. Phillip is going to talk to him first. I’m not letting him hurt you.”

“That’s sweet but I can take care of myself.” I fling open them doors and follow the scent outside.

I see him. Tall maybe 6’ 4” or more. Phillip I know is 6’ 5” and they are at eye level. His hair is black and combed back, his shoulders are wide. Clearly he is a high ranking warrior.

“Rita wait,” Rebecca’s scream alerts him to my presence. As she comes to my side. I’m eye locked with this handsome man, who I pray can’t hear my heart.

Garrett’s POV

This Luna Ceremony is three days of headaches for me and my team. I have the kids at my parents since I will need to be at the packhouse all hours for the next few days.

The best part is time alone with Casey. I made sure we shared shifts so we could share off time. Our time. Damn she looks good standing at attention.

We’ve been dating a year. We’ve talked about mating and marking but the time is never right it seems. Plus my parents don’t like her. More they don’t like who I am around her. They say I’m colder even with my kids. But the kids respect her and seem to like her. So tonight is the night. I’m gonna sink my teeth into her neck. I’m going to claim her as mine and we will make love all night. There are no tingles or sparks, but damn we do have heat. So much heat.

I do the inspection of my team and everyone looks good.

“Garret you’ll stand next to me on the porch and the guard will stand on the steps males on the left, females right,” Gamma smirks. “Do you know why the females are on the right?”

I smirk back, he’s a prick, I bet any of my female warriors could kick his ass without trying. He doesn’t seem to think much of shewolves. I play along to shut him up, “It’s better to put them on the side they always think they are.”

“Exactly,” Gamma said we share a laugh.

Dumbass.

Alpha comes out just as I’m explaining to the team the formation.

He gives his approval and we all stand as assigned.

Hey sexy what ya doin later- Casey mindlinks me trying to make me smile.

You, and it will include a spanking if you distract me.

All the more reason.

I close her out and she stomps her foot a little but I don’t break my straight face.

The endless procession of people and finally I hear Alpha tease Beta about Luna’s twin. Which means this is the last car. We have patrol until 11 and then Casey.

The wind blows from behind me a little then as I see bright red hair and a gold dress the wind blows in my face. She smells like lilac, and I can’t breathe. I’ve felt this before. It’s the mate bond, oh moon goddess why now. She is absolutely stunning. We are staring at each other and I’m trying with all my might to not move, not grab her, not to kiss her, not to mark her right now. I feel myself growl with desire.

I’ve been given a second chance and she is beautiful. But what is wrong with the Alpha’s daughter that she is mated to a warrior like me?

Luna drags my mate to the small conference room. They are going to make her reject me.

“Garret, I need to speak to you,” Alpha saids. Casey looks at me confused and a little hurt. I tell my team to begin their patrols. “Garret is Luna’s sister your mate.”

“I believe so Alpha.”

“Well the moon goddess must think you are pretty special. I know you have kids and a girlfriend so I want to let you know her father will not approve this. Nor will he be able to prevent it if Rita chooses you. She is head strong, smart, and capable. But if you want to reject her do it now so Luna can comfort her and we can get her away from here.”

“I want to tell her what she is in for,” I smell her and then I hear the Luna scream after her.

She is standing in the doorway like an Alpha’s daughter, proud and strong.

“I’m Garret,” was literally all that came out. Her face, scent and that dress make me stupid.

“Rita,” she said in small voice. We walked toward each other, she is 5’ 8” or so hourglass figure just like my Luna. The only difference is her hair is bright red. Like a red rose. Her dress fits her perfectly. Hugging her curves like a mountain road.

“Why don’t you two go back to Garret’s house and talk, I’ll make excuses with father,” Luna suggests. “Re call me around midnight and let me know where you are.”

“As always the Luna knows best.” Alpha saids. “Garret take her to your house and you two talk. You are relieved for tonight.”

I hold out my hand and she takes it with out hesitation. Instantly, there are sparks and tingles. I hear her catch her breath and then she smiles at me. I can’t help but smile back and breath. I didn’t realize I had stopped breathing, but I had. We walk hand in hand the 15 mins to my house. I open the door and she goes in.

Shit! I totally forgot! Will she forgive me?
