NAYA'S P.O.V.

Letting out a deep breath as I heard his voice, though I felt Zach's gaze on me I didn't bother sparing him a glance. Goodness knows what the hell he is up to.

"Ok!" I yelled directly into Zach's ears, but made it look like it was completely unintentional. I walked past him and wanted to open the door, but then his voice stopped me.

"Are you really going to meet my father in a towel?" He asked with an arched brow. I looked down to see that I was actually still in the towel. I'd totally forgotten but I wasn’t about to give him the benefit so I just rolled my eyes.

"You're the cause of that." I fired back, and he looked at me with a deep frown on his face like he wanted to say something, but he chose to reserve his comment and just turned back to the papers he had torn into pieces.

Completely ignoring him, I picked my bag and walked into the closet. At this point, I was really glad that it was a walk-in closet and not a wardrobe.

Zach is so filled with pride and so much arrogance, and to tell you the truth I was indeed looking forward to scattering them both, but firstly I needed to find my escape route.

After putting on a yellow sun dress, I headed out, and I saw him sitting on the bed with his shoes and his legs crossed, which made my jaws automatically drop.

"Ok, I'm going to accept the fact that I got married to you, and I am now your wife according to document but boy you are not going to have your fucking shoe on my bed, and I'll be at peace within the dept of my heart." he looked at me narrowly and then took his eyes away as though I was not being serious few minutes ago.

Ok, that does it...

I walked to him and grabbed a few strands of his hair which he didn't see coming and I pulled him so hard and some hair strands were left in my hand, but he was definitely on the ground.

"How..."

"Oh, don't you dare say a single word. You own this house and everything I get, but I doubt if any of our parents thought about it before pairing us together. You have your own room, stop messing around in mine. I'm not your legal wife anyway, I'm just your wife by a freaking church wedding!" I snapped, and I could clearly see the shock on his face, but it was immediately replaced by my frown and look of anger.

Though he was talking, I paid deaf ears to him and headed towards the door with a smile on my face. If he thought he had gotten a calm, nice lady for a wife, then boy did he hit his head on a wall before getting to the wedding hall.

I skipped out of the room, still with the afterglow of the fight I’d won. It isn't the war yet but winking battles also counts to me. A win is a win, no matter how small.

Me. Montgomery stood outside the door, his face as hard as his son’s. They soften though as he watches me approach.

"I am so sorry I took a long time, shall we?" I said in a sickly sweet voice. He turned around to look at me with a beaming smile on his face, and at this point I became suspicious.

"Certainly! For a girl I barely know, you seem nice" he said in a thick voice which reminded me of his wretched son and I wish I could tell him how cruel I am.

"That's too straight forward I believe, but that certainly doesn't matter. We will get to know each other along the way..." We both let out a laugh and I could clearly feel the tension beginning to build up. "... So, what did you want to talk about?"

"Well I don't know if your father had informed me but Zach is the ruler of this place now, I had stepped down when your alliance was fixed. I know you're a new bride, but you have a lot of catching up to do, and you will get to see new things all the time as we rule a lot more differently than most places...."

"And why is that?" Regardless of the fact that he was my husband's father doesn't mean I won't question him.

"There are rules set by our ancestors that we can't break..."

"Or else what will happen?" He gave me a look that clearly stated that cutting him off was making him lose patience, which I would gladly love to see.

"Naya this is completely above your status, and we have absolutely no rights to temper with what the ancestors have already made up."

"That's the problem with you all. Now we all due respect I have no idea what your parents taught you about the rules on how this place was built or guarded or whatever prophecy or tradition comes with it, but you need to understand that time doesn't stay still and if they live in houses made out of clay in a beautiful way because they are royalty I see no reason why you choose to live in a house like this." My mouth just kept going.

Good lordNaya, you don’t know when to fucking stop, do you? I of course, ignore the voice in my head.

"Time changes." Mr Montgomery said simply.

"And so do the rules! I certainly do hope Zach doesn't rule like you... What am I even saying? A marriage within the span of two years won't do any good."

"Five..."

"You and my father decided to make the decision of pairing two people who can't even stand each other's presence for five minutes. How sure are you that within the span of six months we won't kill one another..."

"Naya!" I jumped from the sound of my name behind him. "How dare you speak to my father in that manner?!" He snapped angrily as he grabbed my upper arm so tight that I could literally feel my blood stopping, but I was not going to let that show on my face.

"I remember talking to him, not you, and he knows damn well that I'm right, so how about..." I trailed off when I felt a bit dizzy and my vision began to blur.

Though I could hear voices, I couldn't make out anything they were saying. Just before I could force a word out of my mouth, I felt my body weaken and everything went blank.

Zach'S P.O.V.

"Let go of her arm, son!" Dad snapped as she fell into my arms, and that's when I realized what had made her pass out in the first place. "... What the hell were you thinking?!" He questioned as I carried her in my arms.

"I was angry, it was intentional." I could clearly still feel the sense of anger within the depth of my heart, and he knew he was the reason for all this mess. "... I understand that you want to follow the tradition and so does everyone, but we've gotten ourselves in huge trouble by bringing her here!" I snapped.

"How am I meant to know that, you guys were meant to know each other, and you were meant to decide."

"Yeah right! A courtship of few minutes and then boom I'm going to know who she is, she's freaking human, and you know too well how much I dread them, she might be my wife in some kinda way but this bond you all think is going to keep us together will just end up breaking at the peak of dawn." I turned around and headed towards her room.

As much as I hate to disrespect my father, he had gladly taken a decision that would change my life forever and the fact that she isn't submissive makes me want to snap her head off.

I've always hated humans, and the fact that he actually considered me marrying one just made me so mad. I understand that my first encounter with humans was an unfortunate one and now that I'm married to one I doubt if she'll still be alive after two years.

Dropping her on the bed, I headed out and immediately saw Ethan standing at a corner staring at me like he was about to have my head and I knew what he was aiming at.

"What do you want?" I questioned completely uninterested in what he was about to say even if I knew what he was about to say.

"Well, that is absolutely no way to tell me how the wedding was and damn! What has gotten stuck in your pants, I heard you yelling at him because of her." Ethan was the typical example of a gossip master, just that he wasn't feminine.

"Will you ever stop?"

"Gossiping about our horrible lives? Oh! hell no..." We both let out a laugh knowing how right he was, then he cleared his throat. "... So real, what's wrong? You normally don't act like this, tell me." he looked at me with concern as we walked down the hallway and towards my room.

"I'm married to a human." He stopped walking to take a good look at me, which made me laugh. "... I'm being serious, and I certainly didn't have a say in the marriage."

"I need all the details, ASAP." He snapped his fingers and walked towards my room imitating my girlfriend_ Brittany, which made me laugh.

Ethan made it his sole aim to imitate Brittany's voice and movement each day whenever she wasn't around, and to tell you the truth I would be a lost soul without Ethan.

I opened the door to the room and saw him sitting on the bed waiting for me patiently as he looked at the ring that was exchanged at the wedding, which I had removed a few moments ago.

"Is she that bad?" He asked as he looked at the ring closely.

"I thought my first encounter with humans will be the last, and I'll just find my mate and this whole thing with humans will just be the end for it's my reign not Dad's and then Naya gets into the story. A selfish, spoiled brat!" Even the mere thought of her annoyed me.

"Calm down man, come on, I'm sure she isn't that bad, and you can use your cold ways to keep her under control."

"I wish I could! I told Dad I didn't want this and now that we are married… you know come to think about this is just the beginning of destruction. Ethan, I am this close to ripping her head off…" I trailed off when I heard a bloody scream and the sound of shattering glass that followed right after.

Naya…
