"That's right!" Hans said.

Carl's expression changed completely. He looked serious and conflicted.

"Mr. Wagner, forgive me for asking, but what sort of relationship do you have with him? We did arrest him, but we have a reason for it. He's involved in a serious case and is currently being interrogated."

Hans' eyes narrowed as he looked sharply at Carl. "Captain Lopez, I'm not going to play games with you," he said coldly. "Dr. Ballard once saved my life, and I think of him as highly as I do of my own parents!

"I know very well what kind of person Dr. Ballard is. The case that you're referring to is completely ridiculous. Something must've framed him! I want you to let him go at once!"
