Chapter 17 : Having Doubts

As Lucas drove off away from the company, he glanced at his rearview mirror before the building was out of sight. He caught a glimpse of Aria hugging herself and her head hung as she went back inside. Despite the distance between them, he could still tell that her face looked very sad. He felt a clutching feeling in his chest and he gripped the steering wheel just as tightly.

It was hard, trying to keep himself under control. Why was it such a struggle when it came to her? Somehow, it felt like it’s always been this way… why is that?

Either way, he didn’t get what he needed. At least not everything, and he didn’t care about it. All he wanted to do in the first place was to go see Aria and spend time with her.
