Chapter 9: Together Forever

Vincent's mother is John's first wife. His current mother is his stepmother. She is William's biological mother.

The year that Vincent's mother died of illness, his father took another wife. On the surface, they were family, but it was clear that they didn't like each other in their hearts. Both stepmother and William want to take the property from him. They want Vincent to die soon.

Since his mother passed away... there is no one left in this world who truly cares about him.

Azura became his wife. She was the only one who cared about him. Even though his legs can't walk, she did not disparage, did not despise him. She cares about him, not about his money. She never asked him for anything. A poor girl, more pitiful than him. She helps him, he protects her, and the two rely on each other to live.

Vincent found Azura unsteady. Vincent pulled her down and sat on his lap.

"Vincent, your leg..."

"No problem."

Vincent held Azura in his lap, smiling at everyone who said goodbye.

"My health is not good. Now I have to go back to rest, don't disturb everyone. Happy birthday to my wife's younger sister. Azura personally picked your birthday present. I hope you like it."

Vincent doesn't wait for them to say goodbye. He hugged her and sat on the wheelchair, turned, and rolled out.

"Vincent, I can go by myself. You let me down."

"Your leg is twisted. Do you still want to walk on your own? I am your husband no need to be taboo. If your feet feel pain, you tell me."

Azura hugged Vincent, her tears gently falling. She buried her face in his neck.

"My leg is hurt."

Her pitiful voice and trembling body hurt Vincent.

"It's okay. I'll take you home."

Azura sat on the bed. The servant brought a basin of hot water, and Azura soaked his feet in it. The doctor was talking to Vincent.

"She has a sprain. Try not to walk for about two days is ok. I will prescribe your wife some pain reliever."

"Thank you, doctor."

Azura wants to get out of bed. Then she heard Vincent's stern voice.

"The doctor told you not to move. Where do you want to go?

"I want to change. The dress is a bit heavy."

A slight blush appeared on Azura's face. Vincent moved to the closet, helping her get some cute pajamas. He hugged her to the bathroom. He put her on the edge of the tub and went out.

This man, even though he was disabled, was still so strong, making Azura a little shaken.

A moment later, Azura limped out, and Vincent was displeased as soon as he saw her.

"Why don't you call me?"

"Your legs are also not convenient to move. You don't worry about me."

"If your legs get well soon, I will take you on a trip."

Azura's eyes lit up, and she looked at Vincent in disbelief.

"Are you going to take me on a trip?"

"Although you and I don't have a wedding party, you are still my wife. We should also go on a honeymoon."

Hearing that it was a honeymoon, Azura was embarrassed. She hasn't been able to travel since she was ten years old. She also wants to go out once, so she is looking forward to it.

She and he lay on a bed, he asked her softly.

"Is there somewhere you want me to take you?"

"Everywhere I to go. Since I was a child, I have never left this city. I want to watch the sunrise on the sea. I want to lie on the grass and watch the stars at night. Am I asking for too much?"

"Not much. Is there anything else you want to see? I will lead you."

"No way, you have to go back to work. I'm not the type to not understand that."

Vincent laughed. What a girl who understood so much that it hurt him. Vincent wanted to hug Azura at this point, but he was afraid that she would think he was taking advantage of his condition to touch her. He didn't want her to misunderstand.

Vincent lightly patted Azura's hand twice.

"Good night. If you want to travel, then you must rest. When your leg heals, I will lead you."

Azura had never slept well before. She always woke up because of her mother's call. Even in the middle of the night, Aurora wanted to eat, drink, and hit her... she had to run to them. She never had a moment of peace.

She once thought. When she becomes Vincent's wife, she will still live the same dark life. But Vincent makes her feel very safe. She sleeps well every day, eats well, has nice clothes, and is taken by him to travel... Is her life getting better?

Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the two still-sleeping bodies. Azura woke up startled. She suddenly found herself lying in Vincent's arms. He hugged her with a smile on his face.

"Good morning."

Her cheeks were rosy, her eyes were sparkling, and her lips were still red without lipstick. Mornings like this make him suffer.

Men's instincts are easily aroused in the early morning, next to their wives. He wants to kiss her fiercely.

But before he could do anything, she sat up.

"I'm going to cook breakfast for you."

"I told you to let the servants do it. You'll stay in the room so your leg can heal."

Only then did Azura remember his injured leg. He asked her to sit still, and she discovered she was uncomfortable.

"Can't I go anywhere?" Poor Azura looked at Vincent.

"Impossible, you have to get well soon. I've already booked a plane ticket. Four days later, we're going on a trip."

"Where do we go?" Azura happily asked.

"An island, where there is a sea for you to watch the sunset, a grass for you to see the stars at night."

Vincent will remember every word Azura said. He will also take her to places she wants to go but has never been. He will be with her for a lifetime.
