TESSA’S POV

I’d only left Wraith’s side to freshen up, returning as soon as I could.

Now, I sat beside him, watching him—studying every feature. I reached out to brush his hair away from his eyes. My chest tightened as I stared at him, at the tattoo he had told me meant a ‘promise.’ At those soft red lips.

I couldn’t wait to see him open those eyes.

But then, the thought resurfaced.

The truth about who my father was.

I had Falcone’s blood flowing through my veins, and no matter how much I tried to deny it, it was the only truth that made sense.

A valid explanation to why a common human like me ended up as a mate to a man as powerful as Wraith.

I would have to tell him.

I planned to tell him the moment he awoke, even if it wasn’t exactly the best timing. Because deep down, I knew if I didn’t speak then, I might never have the courage to speak at all.

Each day, I prepared myself for the inevitable. I even had a paragraph prepared and memorized on how I’d begin when the time came.
