"Willa, please tell me you're at home." I said, the minute she picked up. "Yeah, just got back. What happened? You sound so stressed, and it's not even noon yet." Willa's calm voice sounded over the phone. "Can't talk...right now," I said, my voice breaking amidst sniffles. "When I get to your house, please." "Ohh, baby. Don't cry too much, I'll be right here waiting for you." On my way to Willa's house, my mind drifted to what would be next for me. I was barely making any money from my clothes store to cater for my needs...and worse, my rent would be expiring by December, which was exactly three months from now. Today was September 1st. Gosh, I would not even be able to celebrate Christmas if I don't have a stable paying job before then. I've lived in El Cajon all my life and I knew almost every place including fashion houses and I fucking applied to every single one. If it wasn't bad luck, how could not even one single fashion house say yes to my application. My designs weren't bad... I fucking know my craft! I was completely zoned out, not knowing when the cab stopped at Willa's house. "Ma'am, we're here." "Ohh, thank you." I dug my hand into my purse. "How much is the ride again?" "Fifteen dollars ma'am." "Fuck," I muttered a silent curse. I should have taken a bus instead, which costs only two dollars. Now, I was going to pay seven times that money for just a ride. I emptied my purse and what I had was just five dollars. Today should be one of my worst days. Now, I'm about to go through another embarrassing moment by apologizing to the driver as well as asking Willa for an extra ten dollars. "Can you hold on for a second, please?" "Sure, ma'am." I called Willa again. "I'm coming, baby." "Can you come outside...with ten dollars, please?" "I'll be right there in a sec." My best friend and the only close person in my life was outside in less than a second. "How much was your ride?" "Fifteen dollars, and I've got five dollars." She counted some money and handed it to the driver. "Willa, you gave him..." She had given him the complete money instead. "Let's go inside." She put her arm under mine. The house Willa stayed in was a storey building, not sure of the exact number but it was past five stories... What I loved about this place was the fact there were elevators to help you to get to a higher storey, the rooms were fucking spacious. Willa's bedroom only, was three times bigger than my bedroom, kitchen and restroom combined. Let me not talk about her living room. This was where I had intended moving into if only I was accepted by Milano fashion house today. "Willa, I'll give you back the fifteen..." "You know me too well, Serena. Don't bother about it. Let's talk about you. So, why were you crying?" Instead of giving her a reply, I went into her arms and started crying all over again. "Let it all out, baby." She was rubbing my back as she led us to sit on the couch. "You weren't accepted at Milano?" "Yes, yes, my life is so done for, Willa. I've got no future, no anything...just that dead ass boutique with most of the mannequins naked as fuck." I muttered, wiping my nose. "Don't say that, Serena," "It's the sad reality, Willa. The only thing left for me at this point is to overdose on heroin. It's best that I'm no longer al..." "Shut the hell up, Serena!" Willa bit out in a raised voice. Her sharp voice made me look at her face. Damn, she was really pissed. "Why the fuck would you have such sick thoughts, not to talk of you spewing them to my hearing?" "I...I..." Nothing was coming to my head at this moment. "You are not going to take your life because of those silly rejections. I want to let you know that those fashion houses lost a rare gem." I knew she was saying all this as a way of consoling me. But that didn't change my current situation. "As for your boutique, I will speak with my uncle again to give it another try..." "No, no, Willa. You know how much your uncle invested and how he hasn't recovered a quarter of his investments. Please, I'll need another suggestion." If I was Willa's uncle, I wouldn't even dare to put another dime in that boutique. "He's my favourite uncle, Serena." "Willa, please." "Alright fine. I saw some kind of fashion gig ad this morning." She said, bringing out her phone. "A new fashion company? Is it in El Cajon?" I asked, because I was very certain I had applied to every single one. She passed her phone to me without responding. A brief glance at what was written on her phone, I was taken aback by what I had just read. Infact, I had to read it loud with my mouth, to be sure Willa had shown me the right info. "Fashion designers urgently needed at Frost Vipers clubhouse. We only need talented people that can make badass riding gear. Pay's real good. Find the application link below." "I know I shouldn't have brought this up 'cause of..." "They fucking killed my brother, Willa." I gave her back her phone. Yes, it was five years ago but the pain was still very fresh. They were also the reason my mom joined my brother 'cause her heart couldn't bear the pain. "I haven't forgotten, Serena, but this is the only option left now, since you don't want my uncle's investments anymore. Look at the bright side..." "There is no bright side, Willa." I was about to stand up from the couch when she held me back. How could she even suggest this to me? "I know someone who worked for them at this same time last year. She was being paid ten thousand dollars every month for just making gloves. Now imagine what those that made leather vests and jackets would have earned." "I don't care if they were being paid a million. This is a huge no for me." The same people who killed my brother and tampered with the evidence. I would rather chew rocks for the rest of my miserable life.KNOXX"It seemed like you've gotten back with your woman." Ax said with a smirk when I saw him in the garage.I didn't tell him I had officially gotten back with Serena when I called him...even though we've had a discussion about it which led me going back for my woman."Why not...could barely breathe after we fought.""You both are in a hotel or...?""I took her to my house which is apparently hers as well since she likes it and thinks it's perfect for us to raise a family in it." Ax stared at me with his mouth open, his arms folded. "Damn, brother. That woman's gotten you every single where. For you to spend more than one week away from the club because of her, man, you are a complete goner.""No lies, Ax. For the first time ever, I wished I wasn't the club's president so I get to be with her every fucking time... probably be a remote worker so I get to stay home all day with her. These past few days with her has so been heavenly." I purposely skipped the part of where I was traini
KNOXX"Calm your ass down, Pumpkin," I chuckled, adjusting myself. "As your instructor, I'm scared you might beat up one day.""You should be, baby. Once I become perfect, just go get a wheelchair ready." Serena responded with a wicked smile, tightening her grip a little bit.I started fake choking so she would remove her arm and she took it more serious than I thought."Ohh, baby. I'm sorry." She loosened her grip, then started massaging my face. "Hope you're okay? I'm so sorry, let me get you water..."Straight from the fake choking, I started laughing. "W... what's funny?" She looked confused, pausing from moving away."You can easily be fooled." I said. She narrowed her eyes at me, trying to put her hand around my neck again but I drew my head back. "Easy, there, tigress. I was pointing something out. Your attacker might decide to pretend to be dying or choking and may plead for mercy. And, what did I say about showing emotions?""No empathy for the enemy," she answered. "Wait,
SERENAI was dressed in a dark red bralette and matching yoga pants, my feet on black sneakers. I wasn't sure of what part of the training we were starting with first but I couldn't think of any better outfit.I was checking myself out on the mirror as I glossed my lips when I heard the sound of the door opening. "Baby, I'm almost done. Give me some seconds." I packed my hair in a not so tight ponytail, wore my Jasmine and vanilla scent perfume before turning to him.Earlier, Knoxx had gone to get the training location ready though he was yet to tell me where we would be heading to first. I guess we might be hitting the gym.He ran his eyes on me with greed and he couldn't hide it. "Mr President, you've been staring at me for thirty seconds flat. Thought you said you don't procrastinate..." I smirked, folding my hands under my breasts."I have every right to stare at my woman for as long as I want and that's not procrastination." He said as he walked towards me. When he got closer t
SERENA"Have you ever shot someone before?" This surprising question came from my sexy brute who had just made love to me minutes ago. I woke up to him eating my pussy before milking me up with his thick morning wood...one of the best ways of starting my morning if not the best. "Nope, why do you ask?" I snuggled up to him, even though we were close as fuck. If it was possible for me to get inside his skin, I would do that without hesitation."Hmmm, how about some martial arts skills...like beating someone up?"I had to look at him this time 'cause what were these weird questions. "Knoxx, is there some kind of war coming up? Which country are we running to?""Pumpkin," he chuckled, kissing my forehead. "There's no war. I was just asking.""You sure?" I asked with a raised eyebrow."Yes,""Alright then, my answer to that is no again. I have never fought anyone with any part of my body besides my mouth...""Your greatest weapon...huh?" He laughed."You can say that again, baby.""Litt
KNOXX"You're the third woman to be here." We held hands as we made a long walk towards the entrance of our house. Two of the male housekeepers were taking her bags inside."Who are the first two?" Of course I was expecting that question from her. "Your mom and Olivia?" She added another question.I shook my head. "Not Olivia. It's just my mom and my younger sister, Violet."Speaking of Olivia, I just remembered Serena's brother. Of course I would tell her, but not now though. I didn't want to sort of spoil her mood."Oh okayyy," She untangled our fingers and slid her arm under mine, resting the side of her head on my arm. "You've got a really big house. Did you ever think you would get married while you built this?""Nope. I built it for my peace. I can't find that in the club...that was before I met you though. Do you like the house? If you don't, I can build another one to your taste.""I do, Knoxx. As I had said earlier, it's big and it's far from the club. I love how quiet the su
REX"Boss, they're here." A prospect said from behind me. I was standing by the window of the hallway, my eyes outside even though it was dark. It was almost midnight and my eyes were still open as fuck. Today, I would have gotten hold of Havoc and killed him off for good, but the nitwits I paid to bring him to me decided to fail me.And do you know the price of failing Rex - death."All three of them?" I asked because that was my instruction."Yes, Boss." "Take them to the cell. Inform Razor and Dandy that we've got new meat to butcher." Razor was the club's vice president, while Dandy was its enforcer.I dug into my pocket to get a stick of cigarette but there was no lighter in my pocket."Give me your lighter." I said to the prospect, turning to face him."I'm sorry, Boss. I don't smoke." That earned him a huge blow on the lips. "You're fucking stupid for giving me that answer. What are my rules here? As a prospect, you always be with a lighter whether you smoke or not.""I apo
KNOXX I stood and watched as Blade, the club's enforcer, struck a Widow's Bite prospect with a whip made of dried rose thorns. He was tied hands and legs to a pillar firmly with a long chain. The bastard was caught red-handed trying to blow up the club's garage with explosives. Widow's Bite has
SERENA "The application link closes by midnight. You've got up to twelve hours to think about it." Willa continued with her terrible suggestion. Was she not seeing this didn't sit well with me? "I don't believe you, Willa, seriously," the way she wanted me to apply for this job, despite what th
SERENA It's been five years since I lost my brother and three years after my mom joined him. Yes, I was the only one left, with no parent, no sibling. My mom died of heart failure and... that's enough, Serena. I mentally hit myself on the head. I totally disliked thinking about how miserable my li
SERENA "Mom, do you think Lionel will be returning tonight?" I asked my mom as she slid the spatula under one of the chicken laps and turned it. My mouth watered at both the sight of the meals and the sweet smell that filled the whole kitchen. We were making buttermilk fried chicken, garlic mashed
