"Willa, please tell me you're at home." I said, the minute she picked up. "Yeah, just got back. What happened? You sound so stressed, and it's not even noon yet." Willa's calm voice sounded over the phone. "Can't talk...right now," I said, my voice breaking amidst sniffles. "When I get to your house, please." "Ohh, baby. Don't cry too much, I'll be right here waiting for you." On my way to Willa's house, my mind drifted to what would be next for me. I was barely making any money from my clothes store to cater for my needs...and worse, my rent would be expiring by December, which was exactly three months from now. Today was September 1st. Gosh, I would not even be able to celebrate Christmas if I don't have a stable paying job before then. I've lived in El Cajon all my life and I knew almost every place including fashion houses and I fucking applied to every single one. If it wasn't bad luck, how could not even one single fashion house say yes to my application. My designs weren't bad... I fucking know my craft! I was completely zoned out, not knowing when the cab stopped at Willa's house. "Ma'am, we're here." "Ohh, thank you." I dug my hand into my purse. "How much is the ride again?" "Fifteen dollars ma'am." "Fuck," I muttered a silent curse. I should have taken a bus instead, which costs only two dollars. Now, I was going to pay seven times that money for just a ride. I emptied my purse and what I had was just five dollars. Today should be one of my worst days. Now, I'm about to go through another embarrassing moment by apologizing to the driver as well as asking Willa for an extra ten dollars. "Can you hold on for a second, please?" "Sure, ma'am." I called Willa again. "I'm coming, baby." "Can you come outside...with ten dollars, please?" "I'll be right there in a sec." My best friend and the only close person in my life was outside in less than a second. "How much was your ride?" "Fifteen dollars, and I've got five dollars." She counted some money and handed it to the driver. "Willa, you gave him..." She had given him the complete money instead. "Let's go inside." She put her arm under mine. The house Willa stayed in was a storey building, not sure of the exact number but it was past five stories... What I loved about this place was the fact there were elevators to help you to get to a higher storey, the rooms were fucking spacious. Willa's bedroom only, was three times bigger than my bedroom, kitchen and restroom combined. Let me not talk about her living room. This was where I had intended moving into if only I was accepted by Milano fashion house today. "Willa, I'll give you back the fifteen..." "You know me too well, Serena. Don't bother about it. Let's talk about you. So, why were you crying?" Instead of giving her a reply, I went into her arms and started crying all over again. "Let it all out, baby." She was rubbing my back as she led us to sit on the couch. "You weren't accepted at Milano?" "Yes, yes, my life is so done for, Willa. I've got no future, no anything...just that dead ass boutique with most of the mannequins naked as fuck." I muttered, wiping my nose. "Don't say that, Serena," "It's the sad reality, Willa. The only thing left for me at this point is to overdose on heroin. It's best that I'm no longer al..." "Shut the hell up, Serena!" Willa bit out in a raised voice. Her sharp voice made me look at her face. Damn, she was really pissed. "Why the fuck would you have such sick thoughts, not to talk of you spewing them to my hearing?" "I...I..." Nothing was coming to my head at this moment. "You are not going to take your life because of those silly rejections. I want to let you know that those fashion houses lost a rare gem." I knew she was saying all this as a way of consoling me. But that didn't change my current situation. "As for your boutique, I will speak with my uncle again to give it another try..." "No, no, Willa. You know how much your uncle invested and how he hasn't recovered a quarter of his investments. Please, I'll need another suggestion." If I was Willa's uncle, I wouldn't even dare to put another dime in that boutique. "He's my favourite uncle, Serena." "Willa, please." "Alright fine. I saw some kind of fashion gig ad this morning." She said, bringing out her phone. "A new fashion company? Is it in El Cajon?" I asked, because I was very certain I had applied to every single one. She passed her phone to me without responding. A brief glance at what was written on her phone, I was taken aback by what I had just read. Infact, I had to read it loud with my mouth, to be sure Willa had shown me the right info. "Fashion designers urgently needed at Frost Vipers clubhouse. We only need talented people that can make badass riding gear. Pay's real good. Find the application link below." "I know I shouldn't have brought this up 'cause of..." "They fucking killed my brother, Willa." I gave her back her phone. Yes, it was five years ago but the pain was still very fresh. They were also the reason my mom joined my brother 'cause her heart couldn't bear the pain. "I haven't forgotten, Serena, but this is the only option left now, since you don't want my uncle's investments anymore. Look at the bright side..." "There is no bright side, Willa." I was about to stand up from the couch when she held me back. How could she even suggest this to me? "I know someone who worked for them at this same time last year. She was being paid ten thousand dollars every month for just making gloves. Now imagine what those that made leather vests and jackets would have earned." "I don't care if they were being paid a million. This is a huge no for me." The same people who killed my brother and tampered with the evidence. I would rather chew rocks for the rest of my miserable life.KNOXXI didn't exactly see her the moment I entered. But I did notice some movements at the very end of the garage where she was, I suppose. I took my steps very lightly, making sure she didn't hear me as I got closer to the end. Despite the garage's poor lighting, I was able to still see.I've caught sight of her now. She was crouched beside the last bike close to the wall, her phone in one hand with its torchlight turned on. She was seriously checking out the bike as if she had seen it somewhere, wait...I was seeing an image of the same bike on her phone screen. "Shit!" She breathed out a quiet curse when something slipped out her purse and rolled under the bike. She rose to her feet, bent over the bike, forcing her naked ass cheeks straight to my face...Holy fuck! They were round, smooth and very plump....not forgetting to put bubble-like. She wasn't wearing anything under this whole time... 'Focus, Knoxx, focus. This is not why you're here.' I mentally hit myself. She had pick
KNOXXIf I had known, I would have listened to my instincts and stayed in my room as I've always done during club parties. Ax was the one who did the convincing."Do you always have to be a no fun person, Havoc?" This was a conversation between us hours ago before the party."I'm the club's president, Ax. The time I'll spend partying away, I could use that for more important things. Are you not seeing what's going on?" The important things here, I mean playing chess alone and mentally using it to figure how to destroy enemies of the club, or finishing up Sun Tzu's The Art of War that I was reading last night...or adding some shit to my notes, haven't written in close to two months now."Don't make me laugh, Havoc. And just this one night, you'll find all the solutions to the club's problems." "Nothing is impossible, Ax." I squeezed my coffee cup and threw it into the nearest bin. It was barely six pm in the evening and this was my ninth cup for today, would definitely have two or thr
SERENA"Hope you're okay?" Zoey must have noticed how I went totally quiet...her doctor instincts, I guess. She'd be thinking that the shot must have taken a toll on me. The vodka or whatever that was inside was awful but it wasn't the reason why I was shaken. The reason was on the other side of the hall."Of course, I'm okay." I forced a smile, despite the bitter and harsh taste stuck to my tongue. The cocktails, I believe, that Layla had ordered was brought to our table."Here," Layla gave me one glass which had an orange slice placed on its rim. "It is called Sex on the Beach." "I hope it's not as terrible as..." I made a distasteful face while gesturing at my empty shot glass."Nope, it's very mild, you may not even taste the vodka in it."I sipped a little first to confirm. She didn't lie. It was sweet, having peach blended with orange kind of taste which made me want another sip immediately. While enjoying myself with a glass of Sex on the Beach, I haven't forgotten that I woul
SERENAZoey: Serena, don't tell me you bailed out last minute. Layla: maybe, she did. I've been trying to call her, but she hasn't picked up. Party started thirty minutes ago.Me: of course not, ladies. Layla, I apologize for not picking up, I was getting ready...and I'm on my way already.I took a quick picture of my boots and sent to the group chat consisting of Layla, Zoey and I... Delilah's phone was having screen issues, she'd be joining the group later when her phone gets fixed. The cab that I was in finally got to the gates of the clubhouse. I was expecting to hear loud, vibrating music from inside, but I didn't. Right in front of the gate, everywhere was damn quiet. Layla said party has begun...maybe I should go in first to confirm.I was out of the cab already, by the widow of the passenger's seat, my right hand stretched out to the driver to pay for my ride. Two minutes passed, he hasn't taken the money from my hands. I wasn't even looking at him until I drifted my eyes to
SERENAThis week has been stress-free in a way. I had only jacket designs for the old ladies to work on which I used the whole of Wednesday to create. And I went to the club house on Thursday to go check on the progress of Harper and her team as Chanel had told me. The main thing I was looking forward to this week was the club party happening this Saturday. Since I would not be busy today being Friday, I decided it would be a perfect time for me to going back to my apartment, get some of my clothes and other stuff."Willa, I'm heading home.""Why? Am I making you uncomfortable? If it's the Havoc talk, fine, I will stop." This best friend of mine suddenly became alert."Willa, oh my God, look at the way you're freaked out" I laughed. "I'm only going to get some important stuff. I'm coming back today.""Thank goodness. You had me thinking deep for a moment.""But you know I won't stay with you forever. I'll have to move out someday...""Yes, to your husband's house. Or Havoc's, maybe."
KNOXX It's been two days of torturing the two idiots who tried to ambush my club members and I on our way coming back from a ride to MOA. Yet they have chosen to keep their mouths shut as to who sent them. The club's doctor, Philip, was on always on standby, ready to stitch and clean them up.It was presently the night of day two."Do you think they will talk?" Ax asked while Blade made a new whip from the ones he destroyed on their bodies. The two men were tied up to a long pole, their hands together and their bodies hanging on the air. Ax and Blade were the ones doing the punishing while I stood and watched. The basement which was out of bounds to the rest of the clubhouse, was the usual place where the club's captives were thoroughly dealt with."One way or the other, they have no choice." I said in response. "From the look of things, these bastards have chosen to die. They have decided not to say shit." Ax hissed. The death part was what I was avoiding...reason why I didn't wan
