Chapter 21

Andre's POV:

On Thursday morning, I sat in my chair, reading reports from the previous month. I also signed a few papers that required my approval. It was then that Stanley knocked on the door.

"Sir, there's a lady outside causing a small commotion about meeting you."

"Send her away," I replied nonchalantly, tapping my pen on the desk as I studied the paper.

"We tried sending her away as we noticed she isn't someone you'd know, based on her appearance but

t she has refused."

"Do you know who she is?"

"I don't know; I'll go outside and check again," Stanley said, quickly leaving the room. I got up from my seat, went to the window, and lowered the blind to see for myself who it was. It was a young lady who looked quite ordinary, and I doubted I'd seen her before. I usually didn't do business with people of her standing. A few moments later, Stanley returned.

"Sir, she claims she's a friend of Ms. Williams and she has something to speak with you about." I thought for a while,

  • The Billionaire is a Jerk   *Tell Me the Truth*

Chapter 107Vanessa's POV:The hallway was too quiet as I walked down it with a tray in my hands. I could hear my heartbeat louder than my footsteps. My fingers were wrapped tightly around the handles of the tray, knuckles white. The food smelled good—warm soup, grilled chicken, and some fruit slices, but my stomach twisted with every step I took toward Andre’s room.I hated him.I hated that I didn’t actually hate him.The moment I saw him lying on the cold floor last night, barely breathing, something inside me cracked. It wasn’t just fear. It wasn’t just pain. It was... a feeling I didn’t want to admit. Something I had tried so hard to suppress. My undeniable love for him.No, not now. I was mad at him. I was furious. And heartbroken. And confused.A drug addict?I didn’t even know him as much as I thought I did, even though we've bonded so well in the last four months... And the worst part? He probably doesn't even think I deserve the truth. When I pushed open the door and walked

  • The Billionaire is a Jerk   *The Line Between Life and Death*

Chapter 106Vanessa's POV:My heart nearly stopped the moment I answered the call.It was his voice—weak, slurred, and distant.“I need you.”Then… nothing. No explanation. No location.Just accompanied byilence.“Andre?” I called, my voice trembling. “Andre, are you okay? What happened? Andre?!”But the line was already dead.My fingers went cold around the phone. My chest tightened so fast it felt like I couldn’t breathe. Something was wrong. Very wrong.I didn’t waste another second.I threw on my jacket and bolted out of the house, feet pounding the road until I found a taxi. I barely gave the driver an address before yelling, “Drive!”I could barely think straight. My eyes burned from holding back tears. Endless possibilities filled my mind. What if something had happened to him? I had no idea where he was or what he was doing. Hell, my heart refused to hold back. And then it hit me—home. He must be at home. I tried calling a few times but got no response. Please be there… please

  • The Billionaire is a Jerk   *I Need You*

Chapter 105Andre's POV:It was barely nine in the morning when I got the message. "Meet me at the new property." From my father. No pleasantries. No questions. Just a demand, like always. It was probably written by his PA. Then a map locator popped up.I didn't bother asking what he meant by "new property." I knew better than to argue. When my father summoned you, you showed up. So I got in my car and drove, the GPS leading me to the outskirts of the city, far beyond the noise and dust. It was a private road lined with fresh black tar, like it had been built yesterday. Smooth. Perfect. And then it opened up in front of me—an entire resort. Massive gates swung open as I pulled in, revealing lush green lawns stretching endlessly, palm trees aligned like soldiers, artificial lakes shimmering under the sun, cottages with glass walls, a helipad in the distance, and a grand building right in the heart of it all. I blinked. He'd never said anything about this one.The security led me up to

Chapter 104“That ring...”The words slipped out."Oh?" Alisha blinked innocently. "Does it look like something you've seen?" she asked, waving her fingers with the ring on.Vanessa stared hard at her. "It is. It was designed for me." The more Vanessa stared at it, the more she thought of Alisha as shameless. Flaunting something which didn't belong to her. Fearlessly.Vanessa stood slowly. Her voice was calm, low, but sharp enough that it could cut through glass. "Take that off."Alisha blinked, feigning innocence. "Take what off?""You know what I’m talking about. That ring isn’t yours."Alisha raised her hand, admiring the sparkle like she hadn’t heard a thing. "But it fits so well, don’t you think? Seems like it was made for me. Doesn't it?" she said, the last word with a slight twitch on her lips."It doesn't belong to you," Vanessa insisted. "You stole it."Alisha laughed. "Prove it."Vanessa took a step forward. Alisha didn’t back away. For a moment, they were face to face—two s

  • The Billionaire is a Jerk   *Family Dinner.*

Chapter 102Vanessa's POV:If I could’ve vanished into thin air when Andre said we were going to his family dinner, I would’ve. He didn’t ask. He told.“We’re going to my father’s house tonight,” he said that morning, as casually as someone asking for coffee. “Be ready by six. Wear something decent.”That was it. No explanation, no warning, no chance to back out.He had insisted—no, forced me—to come with him. Something about introducing me to the family. Something about them needing to know that his decision to be with me would never change. I should’ve said no when I had the chance. But I didn’t.Because a part of me wanted to be acknowledged. I wanted to assurance that he was serious about me.I dressed carefully. Not fancy, not cheap. A simple navy dress that hugged my shape and didn’t scream for attention. My fingers trembled a little while putting on makeup—not too much, just enough to not look tired. I kept reminding myself to breathe. In and out. In and out.The ride to Andre’

  • The Billionaire is a Jerk   *Velvet Box*

Chapter 101Vanessa's POV:I don’t know what was worse—the whispers or the silence.Everywhere I turned that morning, there were hushed voices, curious glances, and subtle smiles, as though they all knew something I didn’t. As if the whole building was in on a secret.By noon, I heard it. The rumor."Did you hear? Mr. Garcia is going to propose.""To who?""No one knows. But he’s been planning it. The ring is ready.""How did you know that?""I helped Stanley carry a bunch of stuff this morning, and I saw a velvet ring box. Oh my god, it was so dreamy. It had a diamond ring."My heart didn’t just skip a beat. It stumbled and crashed.Suddenly, I couldn’t focus. My hands trembled slightly as I tried to hold my coffee, the heat of the mug grounding me—barely. The thought of Andre proposing wasn’t what hurt the most. It was the terrifying idea that I might not be the one he was proposing to.I didn’t want to be that girl—the one who snoops, assumes, panics. But I had seen Alisha at his h

  • The Billionaire is a Jerk   *Turning Point*

Chapter 100Andre's POV:°°° Flashback °°°Monday night started like any other night out with the guys.An old friend was throwing a small party at a high-end lounge downtown. I wasn’t planning to stay long—I had meetings with the new investors in the morning, and I’d probably feel drained if I attended this party. But sometimes, showing your face matters more than the fun itself. I figured I’d have one drink, chat a bit, then leave early. But fate had other plans.I didn’t even see her at first. Not until I was halfway through my first glass, and then—there she was.Alisha.Of all people. Of all nights. She stood across the room, leaning against the bar like she owned the place. The lighting hit her just right—of course it did. She looked confident, flirtatious, like trouble with red lipstick.I looked away instantly, pretending I hadn’t noticed her. But I could feel her sharp gaze, cutting through the crowd and slicing its way to me. I kept my cool, made conversation with some peopl

  • The Billionaire is a Jerk   *A Surprise Visitor*

Chapter 99Vanessa's POV:I never expected that evening to turn the way it did. The day had gone by like a warm breeze—peaceful, quiet, just how I loved it when I was with Andre. We were supposed to spend the night watching an old romance movie curled up on the couch in the little safe space we'd created for ourselves. But fate had other plans.I was in the kitchen, barefoot, making dinner. The smell of melted butter and garlic filled the air, my fingers working deftly on the chopping board. Andre was upstairs in the bedroom, adjusting the lights. The soft golden glow already spilled down the hallway, making everything feel warm and cozy. I smiled to myself, soaking in the silence. That was when the doorbell rang.I frowned, brows knitted together in confusion as I wondered if he was expecting someone and didn’t tell me, considering the circumstances surrounding our relationship. I didn’t want anyone to see us together, atleast not for now.I hesitated. Something about the sound felt
