Chapter 014

Christina’s POV

My eyes popped open to meet with the pristine white ceilings, coupled with the bright white light of the bulb illuminating the room. The light flooded my eyes and I instantly shut them from its assault but I must have done it so fast because a migraine attacked me and my head began aching. Again, I opened my eyes, and I groaned as my head continued pounding, as though it was about to fall off.

I didn’t know how long I’d been sleeping but it must have been well into the day. The last thing I could recall was that my bedroom door opened a while ago when I was about to get out of bed but I decided to keep still and pretend to still be asleep as I wasn’t ready to deal with anyone that morning. I must have slept back after whoever it was left and I hadn’t woken up since then.

Coupled with the head-splitting headache that was threatening to take me out, hunger pangs hit me and I tried to rub my stomach with my palm but it was then I realized I couldn’t move it and it felt
