“Check your mail. You’ve got all the evidence you need there, and as for a witness, there’ll be one in court tomorrow. Make sure you’re there by 9. It’s the final divorce hearing and your last chance.” the Don’s voice sailed into my ears before the call ended.

I dropped my phone and drew in a deep breath that I exhaled almost immediately before rising to my feet to head out to the mailbox. It was almost 10 pm and it was my third day in New York.
