Chapter 4

Ch 4

“With your soon to be husband” She said and my mood changed immediately.

A dinner date with Wyatt fucking Hayden. Are you kidding me?

“Mom, I’m not getting married to him and I won’t go on any stupid date with him” I said furiously.

“You don’t have a choice. Now, go get ready. Nick will drive you to the restaurant when it’s time”

“But mom!”

“Brit, I understand you don’t want it but trust me when  I tell you you won’t regret it. Hayden won’t hurt you”

“I didn’t say he will. I’m just not ready for marriage”

“That was what I thought my parents told me then I’m getting married at age 16 but as time goes on, I got used to it”

“So your marriage to dad was Arranged?”

“Yes dear. But we are both happy now” she smiled and I scoffed.

“I’m not you, Mom”

“Brit, just accept this. Nothing can change. You’re getting married to Hayden no matter what!” She maintained her ground.

“Wow” I said as a tear drop from my eyes.

I walked away from her and went up to my room to empty my tears.

IN THE NIGHT...

I looked at myself in the mirror as my mom made my hair.

She then did a light make up for me.

“Smile baby. You will be fine” she said but I said nothing and continued staring at my reflection.

When she was done, I left my room while my mom escorted me outside.

Nick opened the door for me while I entered. He entered the driver’s seat and drove off.

He stopped at a luxurious restaurant and I suddenly feel nervous. I should be angry not nervous.

“Be calm, be calm” I told myself.

I breathe in and out and came out of the car. My mom told me Hayden ordered a vip table so it will be easy knowing the table for our date.

I clutched my purse tightly and walked in. I got to the vip  section and stopped when I saw him.

He was on his phone and didn’t notice my presence. This would be the first time I will see him physically and I took my time to observe him.

He wasn’t a male model but he should have been. The lush gold hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality.

I’m not sure that’s his natural hair but it looked really good on him.

My eyes moved to his Aquiline nose. It complimented his prominent cheekbones.

Handsome is an understated way. I looked at his eyes which were focused on his phone. His eyes are blue. They could shine as bright as the evening stars.

Then his lips. Oh my God!

“Hello” I heard a masculine voice which I believe is his and I looked away embarrassedly knowing I have been caught checking him out.

I slowly looked at him and his gaze was on me now. I lost my voice already and just looked at him like a dummy.

I regained my sanity and walked to the table embarrassedly.

I sat opposite him and looked at the table not having the courage to look at him.

“Get a grip of yourself Brit! You shouldn’t let him think you have interest in him” my sub conscious warned.

A waiter approaches and without saying a word pours them wine and leaves the bottle. No menus. I guess he have ordered for us in advance.

He took the wine glass and sips it. He stopped and looked at me.

“Aren’t you drinking?” He inquired and I lost my senses.

“I..don’t drink alcohol” I stuttered nervously.

He looked at me amusedly.

“It isn’t Alcohol”

“Oh yeah. I know that...I just..” I stopped talking knowing I’m speaking gibberish and picked the wine glass.

“So I will just go straight to the point. You know who I’m already so I don’t really need to introduce myself. I..”

I interrupted him. “I’m getting married to you blah blah...I know and I am not interested.” I said but he didn’t say anything but stare at me amusedly.

I continued. “I don’t like you. I don’t even know you. I’m just 18. You are way older than me. Why are you even interested in getting married to me because I don’t get. Can you please tell my parent you aren’t interested anymore?” I poured out everything.

“This is a date remember? not the time for you to rant” He said and I opened my mouth widely.

“Are you..kidding me?!” I gasped.

The waiter came back and dropped the plates of food.

He left after that.

In the order is spaghetti, salad and a bunch of other delicacies.

Spaghetti is my best food and I’m feeling the urge to dig in but I won’t.

“Let’s just have a normal conversation and get to know ourselves before we get married” he said.

“I’m not marrying you” I scoffed.

“Of course you will.”

“What’s wrong with you. You are just an egocentric...” I stopped as his next action left me flabbergasted.

He dipped his hand in his pocket and brought out his EarPods.

“You can decide to just keep shut and have your meal or you continue ranting while I play musics” he said and my  mouth widened in shock.

“You know what, I’m leaving” I stood up. “I can’t keep up with your attitude.” I looked at him but he didn’t make any attempt to say anything.

“I’m not getting married to you and that’s final!” I deadpanned and left immediately. He didn’t even make any attempt to stop me. I looked back and saw he had continued to operate his phone. I scoffed and left the restaurant.

“Take me home, Nick” I said to nick and he nodded and opened the car for me.

*******

When I got home, I went straight into my room. I was glad my parents didn’t see me. I locked myself in my room and jumped on my bed.

“Fuck him! Fuck him! “ I muttered regretting I didn’t punch him while at the restaurant.

My phone started ringing. I checked the caller’s ID and was surprised to see it’s Ezra.

I picked. “Hey Ezra”

“You are getting married” he said and I scrunched my brows.

“Getting married? What! No!” I denied.

“Don’t you dare lie to me. It’s all over the net”

“What!” I exclaimed and ended the call immediately.

I logged into I*******m and the first post I saw was from Hayden.

He posted the picture of us at the restaurant and captioned it with “Getting married soon”

The phone fell off my hand in shock.
