Chapter One Hundred Sixty

The revelation caused Eve to remain transfixed in her spot. She stared at Henry blankly, trying to ascertain the level of his seriousness on the issue.

He was dead serious.

When he noticed her surprised expression, he exploded into a burst of laughter that echoed all over the room and Eve couldn't be more confused.

She began taking strides toward him. Her legs felt heavy but she didn't stop. Henry stood before with a bright smile and soon, his bright smile was replaced by an impish grin.

"You must be joking!" Eve asserted, trying not to mince her words.

He swung his head from left to right in filial objection.

"You are lying to me!"

Henry didn't stop shaking his head and at that point, Eve needed no one to let her know that Henry was blurting out the truth. From his look, his gesture and his mode of communication, she could tell that he meant every word.

Doomed!

She was fucking doomed as the thought of her plan which had just gone down the drain fluttered in her mind. She took steps
