Imagine the nerve. I literally had to beg Bryan to come out so we could see today on my day off. I literally had to beg a jobless man to see me when he had practically nothing important to do. I'm so pissed. For how long am I going to keep up with this?I put a lot of effort into my look because I want him to see how good I look in case he's forgetting, hence this lackadaisical attitude. The date was going great until I got a call from my mom. She was groaning, and I could hardly hear her before the line went off."I'm sorry, Bryan, I have to go; my mom just called, and she didn’t sound too well. I have to go check up on her."What do you mean you have to go check up on her just because she didn’t sound well? She can take care of herself; I’m sure it’s nothing serious.” He says, sounding very nonchalant, like he didn’t even care at all. I know he and my mom headbutt practically all the time because she thinks he's not the ideal man for me, but he should at least pretend to care."I ju
"Miss Patricia, let’s go dish the food. My stomach won’t stop grumbling.”“Why don’t you and Ray set up the game? Jordan and I will dish out the food. Isn’t that right?” She says she is giving me an eye signal."Correct.” I respond raising the bag containing the food I ordered. I know Mrs. Charity has been itching so much to find out why I asked her to pull such a stunt.“Start spilling," she says after peeking to be sure Patricia is nowhere in sight.I tell her everything that happened earlier in the day and also disclose my feelings towards Patricia to her. She grabs my hands and starts to dance salsa.“Spin me around, gentleman.”Ok, this was not the reaction I was expecting. Don’t tell me she belongs in the queue of people who have been trying to ship us."I never liked that boy!”“That makes two of us.”“I don’t see any bottles to be popped anywhere." Mrs. Charity says."Mother, what’s the celebration?” Patricia waltz in catching us unaware.“Life. Yes, life.” Mrs. Patricia says
My dreams of waking up in the Seychelles come to an end this morning, as I am ready and packed to travel—or rather, take to the skies—and I couldn't be more excited about it. Although I have never gone on a destination vacation, as they are called, I'm glad I have the opportunity to, and guess what? Mr. Jordan has taken care of everything, so I don't have to pay a single dime. If I continue to receive all these treatments, I could put into consideration making a career out of housekeeping and nannying."Come on, Rachel, hurry up; you don't want to miss the flight.""We won't be missing the flight; we're flying in Daddy's jet," she replies. Sometimes I forget how rich they are."Alright then, just make sure not to forget anything, okay?""Yes, Tricia, and besides, Daddy can easily get anything I forget, but I think I've got everything now.""Great, good girl."I return to my room to check and make sure I'm not forgetting anything because I can't afford to. Once I make sure that everyth
"Daddy I wrote a to-do list for my vacation. You want to see it?""Yes, baby, after we settle in, but firstly, you have to promise me that you will stay away from the pool and water except when an adult is with you.""I promise, Dad. I know not to go close to infinity pools.""Good girl. How am I so lucky to have you in my life? Come here.""Dad, you are going to have me all mushed up now," she says, hugging me."Here is the key to your villa. I assure you that you, your wife, and your child will love it here. I'll leave you to settle in, and once you are ready for site-seeing, ring me. I'll introduce you to your tour guide.""She is....""Are you trying to say something in Seychellois Creole?" The resort staff asks"No. How do you say thank you, though?""Mersi""French""Not really.""Ok. So how do I say goodbye?""Oreswar ""Perfect." "Daddy, let's take a tour of our villa, and after that, I want to see the Aldabross tortoises, then go hiking, and thereafter buy some Seyechellois
I settle down on the rustic wooden table of our beachfront villa, a soft breeze carrying the scent of the ocean through the open windows. My notebook lay open before me, and I began jotting down ideas for our upcoming adventure in Seychelles while going through popular places to visit and fun things to do here.Anse Lazio Beach comes up a lot in my search, and with these good reviews, I’ll definitely suggest a visit to Anse Lazio. It's known for its soft sands and pristine waters. Swimming, sunbathing, and water sports would be the perfect way to unwind, and since we all love water, it is the perfect idea. I include snorkelling at Sainte Anne Marine National Park for a glimpse of the underwater world.A snorkelling excursion to this marine park is a must. I’ve always wanted to go snorkelling, and this is a great opportunity to do so. I add other things to the list, like cultural exploration, exploring the local culture, visiting markets and art galleries, and savouring traditional Seyc
“We haven’t spent 24 hours here, and I’ve had so much fun. Ray, you and your dad might have to travel back without me.” I say dropping on the bed.“Too bad Daddy is going to leave without us. I’m going to miss my friends in Manhattan. Especially Daisy.” She says, faking tears.“We can send her letters." I respond playing along.“Or I can call her.”"True, that skipped my mind.”“Don’t go, please," she says, coming to sit close to me.“Me?” I ask, shocked by how quickly the conversation changed.“Yes.”“I was joking when I said I wasn't going back with you to New York.”“I know, but that's not what I'm talking about. I heard Daddy tell Mr. Tony that the search for a new replacement is becoming more tedious than he expected. Do I give you troubles, Aunt Patricia?” she asks."No, baby, why?”“I don’t know. My mom left, Mrs. Charity did too, and now you want to go too. Everybody leaves me except Dad, Grandpa, and Grandma.”“Baby, come here. I’m not leaving because you are bad or anything
There was a quiet talk coming from Ray's room that I couldn't help but hear. Ray is chatting animatedly with Patricia, her dedicated nanny. Over a short period of time, Ray has gotten attached to Patricia, and honestly, I have as well; it’s hard not to. I lean closer, curiosity piqued by their secretive tone. Ray begs Patricia not to leave, and out of the blue, she mentions that Patricia should marry me and tell Patricia about my feelings for her. I nearly choked right there and then. Have my feelings for Patricia been that obvious? She goes on to mention a Prince Charming stare. What is that, and have I been making my stares at Patricia obvious? My pulse quickens as I wonder how Patricia will react to the news. Of course, she brings up her boyfriend, which, to be honest, makes me a little envious. I wish Patricia would open her eyes and realise what she is missing out on. I could offer her so much more love than he ever could.
I take a look at the castle, Ray, and I just built and smile. If fashion doesn't work out for me, I'm definitely going into architecture.“It’s so beautiful.”“Right? We did that, Ray, baby.” I say, giving her a high five.“I wish Daddy had built this with us. He works all the time.” She says as she kicks one of the buckets we used in the building.“Baby, he works very hard so you can live the good life.”“Fine. He promised no rigorous work, but he’s been on the laptop since morning.”“He’ll soon be done. He said he'd be available to join us to Beau Vallon in the afternoon, and it’s just 12.” I say, looking at the time.“The weather is so cool. I really love it here. It’s such a special place.”“Very true.” I nod in agreement.“Although I’m not so keen on views like Dad, who can practically flip at the sight of a nice view, every time I wake up to the gorgeous view of the lush mountains, I can’t help but praise the artist who did that. Daddy says God created the universe. He’s so tale
