Water slid down her body and dripped into the marbled floor as she froze in her spot. Fabian was fully dressed in a white polo tee and beige slacks while she stood there naked.
“Come,” he motioned for her as if nothing was out of the ordinary.
But Amber couldn’t move, she stood there motionless with her hands by her sides, paralyzed by surprise.
Fabian uncrossed his leg and with the towel still in his hand, he strolled towards her. With every step that he took, Amber swore he oozed with sexiness. She could feel the blood rushing throughout her body even as the throbbing sensation grew stronger, overpowering her mind.
What’s he doing?
Fabian reached her and looked down into her polished emerald eyes, tilting her head up to meet his gaze.
“Let’s dry you now shall we?” his voice sounded normal, but his eyes belied his emotion; they were blazing with desire.
He threw the towel around her neck, causing her to gasp.
Fabian stepped out of the bedroom, tucking his phone and wallet into his backpocket and caught sight of Amber standing alone in the living room. Behind her, sunlight beamed through the panelled windows, kissing her hair, giving the illusion that she was on fire – like a phoenix. A beautiful fiery phoenix. He could see her blouse clinging onto her curves, even as she looked down, playing with her fingers. He wanted nothing more than to take her there and then at that moment, but pleasure had to wait. They would have all the time tonight. Plus he intended to surprise her with a new phone, seeing how old and chipped hers was. He wondered if she had bought it from some thrift store.‘Redd?” he called out and she lifted her head to meet his gaze. There was a sparkle in her eyes as she flashed him a smile through her rose-tinted lips, “Yes?”“I’ll see you later,” he had to force himself to move away from her. He did not want to leave. She nodded at him and ga
The day had been a challenging one. Fabian almost lost a customer to Liam’s Smithsonian Holdings. The latter had promised to deliver a similar innovation to his VX2 at half the price. How’d he come up with that? Fabian wondered in confusion as he killed the engine to his Aston Martin. As far as he knew, Liam was now where near creating that technology. That goddamn son of a bitch wasn’t even involved in the design of his VX2 during his time at Virtuex! Damn! He slammed into the steering wheel with both his palms. If Liam really could deliver his promise then Virtuex would be in deep shit. Fabian practically had to beg and throw in a few freebies just to retain that particular customer. It was a business tycoon from Japan and he could not afford to lose this venture. Fabian gritted his teeth as his fingers curled around the steering wheel hard, trying to calm himself. Anger’s not going to solve anything, he told himself, clos
The car ride back to Fabian’s place was a stilted one. All Amber could think of was how to lace his drink with the sedative while all that consumed Fabian’s thoughts was how to get Amber laid. They both attempted to make small talks, none of which lead to anything of significance.“How was your day?”“It was fine.”Silence.“Business matters settled?”“Right about….” Work had been far from smooth.Another round of silence. Then, his eyes travelled to her long slender legs.“Your dress is nice.” Fabian wondered if he could rip it off. He was itching to get her naked.“Thank you.” It had been a hand me down by Amber’s former employee. In fact, most of her clothes were hand me downs.“Hmm…music?”Amber drummed her fingers on her knee, “Sure.”Fabian randomly selected a station and George Michael’s ‘I Want Your Sex’ ripped through the speakers. At this, Amber turned crimson red and Fabian immediately changed t
He was a gladiator, the muscles on his arm rippled as he brought the damp towel to his hair, rubbing at his scalp furiously. Light sprinkles of water rained onto the carpet beneath his bare feet as he dried his hair. He had only a pair of long dark grey pyjama pants, and his upper body, still wet; glistened in the light that escaped from the bathroom, highlighting his broad chest and taut abs.“Hi,” she greeted him, settling the chilled bottle on the side table next to his pristine white bed. Around them, dimmed yellow light illuminated the room, creating a soft and sensual ambience.Amber walked up to him next, with both wine glasses balanced precariously in her hands. She made sure not to spill the precious liquid on the floor. He let his towel drop to his feet and looked at the glass that she offered him.“Hi yourself.”She raised her glass of half-filled wine to her lips, “Bottoms up?”An amused smile
Fabian did not have many rooms in his residence, and for that, Amber was extremely grateful. His house, though spacious held only three main rooms. The first being the master bedroom; the place was at least four to five times bigger than her apartment. It had a massive all-black walk-in wardrobe that housed an array of luxury watches in one of his display drawers, rows upon rows of colour-coded suits and pants in shades of black, grey and brown, another two drawers just for his ties and cuff links and so much more. Amber had just about dug into every nook and cranny of the wardrobe the day before but had found nothing. The bedroom also had an attached bathroom that put even the Four Seasons Hotel’s luxurious one to shame and a little lounging area next to an enormous window that opened up to a magnificent view of Silicon Valley. She had turned the room upside down and inside out to no avail and regretted having spent so much time there. The second room was the guest room where
It felt to Amber as if V paused before acknowledging her question. Perhaps it was running through its database in search of the safe’s location? But the moment V replied, the glimmer of hope in Amber’s heart went up in a puff of smoke before it even had the chance to grow.“Miss Banks, there is no safe in this house.”Amber closed her eyes, feeling a surge of disappointment building from within and took a deep breath, But Liam said there is! She was exasperated but there was no use arguing with V. Either it was lying or the safe was not electronically connected to its system. Then that would mean that the safe is probably of traditional design, she reasoned, letting go the edge of the desk. She glanced at another of Fabian’s translucent digital clock tucked away at the other end of the desk, ten minutes had already passed and she hadn’t even begun doing anything!Darn!Speed was essential and she sprang onto her f
Fabian opened his eyes to the sight of a wine bottle on his side table. He blinked and brought a hand to rub at his temple, trying to clear the fog from his head. What happened? he wondered as he forced himself up to a sitting position. He glanced at the wine bottle again and picked it up frowning - it was empty. And so were the two wine glasses, one which lay neatly on the table and the other, abandoned on the rug.Strange, he had never fallen asleep after drinking before. He rubbed at his temple again, trying to remember what had happened only to realize that Amber was lying very still next to him. He turned to look at her - she was curled up in a fetal position with both hands tucked under her chin. Her flaming red curls were sprawled out in a disarray, some falling over her shoulders, others covering her face.Did we fall asleep? he had to ask himself again as he placed the bottle back on the table. Beside him, Amber stirred a little, and Fabi
It was a cloudless night as Anson made his way to the alley where the murder of Vincent Rodriguez took place. The caution tape had been removed and the chalk outline of his body had long been washed off. The police were done gathering all the information that they needed from the site and it would only be a matter of time before they came for him. He needed to clear his name before then. A quick look around him told Anson that the place was deserted, save for a furry brown kitten huddled in the damp and littered corner, calling out for its mother. He pulled at his slipping backpack and walked towards the spot where the man had been murdered, ignoring the scrawny little animal. Had he been blindfolded, Anson would still be able to make his way to the exact spot. The image of the dead man haunted him day and night giving him absolutely no rest. You killed me… I swear! It wasn’t me! You killed me! No! I swear!
