Hylas took a deep breath.

Arethusa glared at him.

He glared back at her.

But there was something about her tone, not her words, that had Hylas’s eyes glued to her, and when he gazed deeply inside her eyes, something felt wrong to him. There should not have been sadness in the unknown female’s eyes.
