Fear for just life

Angel had thought the girl would be a big distraction from what he was doing. Unfortunately, she was helpful. She was young and had zero knowledge about the beast he was fighting. But she was able to block every attack the beast threw at him.

Elina saw the minute she and the alpha got careless. The beast struck. To save her, the king had to endure the pain of having one of those horns buried deep in his flesh.

“Are you okay?” Elina asked when she managed to stand and left his arms. Angel nodded, although Elina didn't think so.

“How, on earth, is that thing still standing,” Elina said in disbelief. The alpha had given it all. Hit it where it hurt the most, and it had been down several times.

Unfortunately, the best still had enough strength left in it. To make matter worse, Elina was irritated by the rain.
