"Brother," Elliot called walking into the throne room just after Axel had dismissed the council.
Axel turned his head to see Elliot walking into the throne room. Elliot stopped a few meters from the stairs leading to the throne seat and bowed his head in courtesy.
"Elliot." Axel said in acknowledgement after the council had gone leaving the room empty with just the both of them in it and two guards standing at the door.
"How did the meeting go?" Elliot asked with concern lacing in his voice. "You don't look so good."
"The crops aren't producing well, all the money spent on the farm is going down the drain." Axel explained rubbing his temple. "Aside that, I'm okay."
<*Gwen's POV* I heaved out a heavy sign for the umpteenth time, arranging the dishes into the tray. I was appointed today to serve Prince Nikolai his meal. I let out another sign, resting my hands on the cabinet, you must be wondering why I'm distressed. Eleanor, I'm worried about her. I haven't seen her since the incident yesterday. She must be feeling really down right now. I'm sure that bastard would be happy right now, he has sure been looking for a way to get back at us. This is the time Eleanor needs me but that stupid Griffin is yet to release her. Damn the Queen for making her suffer this much. I let out another restless sign shaking my head slightly. I felt a palm on my shoulder and turned to see Madam Helen behind me with a comforting smile on her face. "Don't worry mu
I dropped the clothes into the wardrobe and walked out of the maids quarter feeling their eyes piercing my skin. I breathed out a depressed sign walking into the lonely hallway.I opened the door to the store room and stepped inside closing the door behind me. I slumped on the floor resting my back on the door.I pulled my knees to my chest, hugged it gently and rested my head on my knees, sobbing quietly.I don't deserve this, do I?I was only trying to help, hell! She would fallen face flat on the ground if I hadn't helped her. Even her maids couldn't do anything to help her. Why can't she be appreciative for once? All I did was help her, I never tried to hurt her and this is what I get? This is what I get for trying to be helpful.I hugged my knees tighter and wept. I felt my heart quenching tight in pain, I ga
"Please Quillon let me just give this to her. Please she has not eaten since last night. Please just this time." Madam Helen pleaded the guard in charge of watching the dungeon. "Madam Helen, this might put me in trouble if the prince finds out." "He won't find out. Right. Ranvir?" She asked the second guard. "You won't tell this to the prince right?" Ranvir glanced at Quillon before answering. "Yes, Madam Helen." "Thank you so much." She appreciated before urging them to open up and let her in. Quillon brought out the keys from his pocket before opening the gate of the dungeon. The gates made clanking noises as he pushed it open. Madam Helen muttered another thank you before stepping into the dungeon with the tray of food in her hands. "Child." She called out and dropped the tray on the floor. She crouched before Eleanor who laid on the floor facing the
"I love you darling." She smiled at me, tears glistening in her eyes."come." She stretched her arms to me. "Come to mama, come home darling." I walked barefooted to her to grab her hand. "We miss you, come on." I stretched my hand to grab hers when blinding rays of sunlight shone on my face blocking my view. I groaned using my hand to shield my eyes from the bright light. She was starting to fade from my sight. "Mother," I called trying to walk to her. "Mother," "Mother," I jerked up off the bed looking around the room. I turned to the window where the bright ray of sunshine came from, I sighted Gwen standing by the window staring at me with concern. "Are you okay?" She asked walking to me. "You were yelling 'mother', are you okay?" I placed my palm on my forehead, letting out a heavy sign. "I'm fine. Just had a weird dream."
Sabrina smiled to herself as the carriage drove into the kingdom drawing attention from passers by.Sabrina smile widened when the village became familiar toher eyes. She still remember this place well, everywhere was starting to bring the memories of when she usually comes here with her father. She sat back on the chair of the carriage feeling her pride rise, she's finally here. Finally here to live her dreams as Queen of Cordenia. Her father must feel so proud of her right now.She can't forget the look on her sisters face when they heard the news, it must have shocked them to the core, now they must have realised that she's truly better than them. She's getting married to Prince Luciano, every maiden's dream. Even though he's cold hearted every reasonable maiden still admire him, and now she's getting married to him. She's sure gonna be an envy to every other maid
"So how's your mother?" The Queen asked Sabrina as they walked side to side in the compound of the castle. "She's good. She was very happy when I was asked to marry the prince, she wanted to come with me but she's very busy at the moment." Sabrina explained with a smile. "I'm missing her already." "Awwn, there's no need for that. You have me already. Okay?" Sabrina nodded giddily. "If you need anything, anything at all, just tell me okay?" "Yes mother." "That's correct." The Queen beamed. They walked in silence, revelling in the cool atmosphere. Ariel cleared her throat before speaking. "Ermm, so about Luciano," Sabrina raised her brows at her in confusion. "Luciano?" "Yes dearie, I want to apologize for his beha-" "There's no need for that mother. It's okay, I understand." She placed her hand on Ariel's shoulder giving her a warm smile. "It's just... He wasn't like that before, I feel-" "
Luciano stared at his father intently before answering in a cold voice. "About Sabrina."Axel cleared his throat sitting up on the chair. "What about her?""I'm rejecting her." Luciano stated firmly."Huh?" The king quirked his brows at him questioningly."Yes father. You can find me another bride other than Sabrina. I'm rejecting her, there's no way I'm marrying a bitch like her.""Don't speak of her in such manner Luciano!" The king snapped immediately. "Sabrina is nice girl, well raised and of a very good behaviour.""Very good behaviour you say. Look father, there's no way I'm getting married to a slut like Sabrina!""Don't say that Luciano! Sabrina is no slut! You would not speak of her in such ma-""And how do you know that?!" Luciano suddenly snapped cutting his father of
I shifted from one foot to another restlessly, my eyes blurring a few times. I'm really tired and hungry yet I can't do anything about it.The Prince is currently training with some other warriors, he doesn't seem to get tired at all.I yawned for the umpteenth time moving my hair off my face. I let out a tired sign and dropped to the ground, sitting on it. I can't keep up with standing, it's draining the little energy I have left in me.While sitting on the floor and watching the prince train with so much vigour, my mind travelled back to the scene at the Prince's room. I really can't say what pushed me to talk back to that princess but I had to do it, she's definitely one of those spoilt brat princesses.I mean, she's seeing me for the first time and the next thing she do is insult me while I'm standing. I've never met her before talk more of having a misunderstanding wi
