Chapter 22

"Good morning, ma'am!" A young man in a fine suit rushes to me at terminal 1 of the arrival hall and my face immediately hardens, a defensive pose striking on reflex.

I just came down from a long flight and my muscles are sore and for some reason, I just want to sleep. The last thing I want is to engage in a tag race with an airport thief.

"Um, good morning." I am a little hesitant because he's an unfamiliar face even though almost everybody I have passed by at my arrival looked exactly like him.

"I'm Ling Chen, your sorta PA and designated driver for as long as you are here." He introduces himself in his thick accent, adjusting the round glasses on the bridge of his nose.

"On my way out, I overheard some people talking about a fraudster that lurks around the exit," I say, holding my handbag tighter to my body, "They lie about being a designated driver only to take the passenger somewhere remote and rob them of their properties."
